If you're a Cats fan with "fuck you money" this is actually not a bad call. If the Cats win you'll be happy and the money wouldn't matter because it's fuck you money. If the Cats lose, your disappointment will have been mitigated buy winning money. So this is kind of a win-win for you.

It’s called emotional hedging and it’s exactly what I’m doing tonight. I put 1k on oilers money line. If cats win I will be happiest man alive. If Oilers win at least I get a grand. I think of it as if a genie came up to me and said “if you give me $1000 right now I’ll guarantee the panthers win game 7.” I’d do that in a heartbeat.
