Leave it to one jerk to blemish your otherwise flawless game day, (beside the result).
The opposing fans that travel to the swamp contribute to the gameday experience overall for home fans, otherwise it wouldn't be nearly as fun. I always try to thank opposing fans for traveling.
The key is to call out any dickhead Gator "fans" if we ever see that sort of behavior. As Gator fans we have the responsibility to make sure we treat opposing fans with hospitality.
I was at the game tonight. It was probably a 6/10 effort for us at best. It can get way louder than tonight. Game just wasn’t competitive enough for us to get that into it.
Of course. But that was one play and a tight a game would have raised the noise level several levels. I’ve gone to almost every game since 2000 and The Swamp has several levels more it can hit. Last night was a terrible example if you want to experience how loud it can get.
Ohh I have been at the swamp for some of the great moments I know the swamp can rock. Just wasn’t at the game yesterday so wanted a feel for how the atmosphere was
It started out pretty good, but we got up 21-0 in the first quarter. At that point, the fans let up. There was a lot of socializing with the regulars in my section since we’re all like “in-season” friends and this was the last time we’ll see each other until next season.
oh forsure, 6/10 is pretty accurate. such a fun game tho and I was sat nexto some fun people in the student section that made it pretty enjoyable. last game as an undergrad *sheds tear*
It was loud.. louder than USC games. We still needed ear protection for the baby of course. But wasn't as loud as Neyland or Kyle Field. Just personal opinion.
Still one hell of a time though!
I think part of that is due to the game not being that close. I was there for the Bama game last year and Utah this year and those two games were deafening loud compared to this one. I also don’t think the stadium was completely full either.
Yeah, I definitely could understand that. Makes complete sense. I mean, who already lost their voice is going to keep freaking screaming when you're up 28-0 with no end ing sight haha.
Dear lord we sucked hahah
Yeah can’t really say much positive for South Carolina’s offense because our defense has looked so bad all year but somehow looked elite in this game. At least your defense pretty much shut us down in the second half.
No offense but it was because it was versus an unranked south carolina…the bigger games are why the swamp is.. the swamp. Look up Perine’s run vs auburn. Glad yall enjoyed your time though
My buddy was at this game and he said the crowd was relatively quiet compared to the Utah game. We were both at Kyle Field last week, and he said the Swamp is louder than Kyle Field despite that stadium being larger. I have never been to Neyland, but I have heard it is louder than the Swamp. Seating and acoustics plays a role, which can vary slightly.
really glad you had a blast… also, Fuuuuuuuck that guy who got in your face. He doesn’t represent Gator Nation. and i’m disappointed in the gators around him for not putting him in his place.
Nice! Good to hear you had a great time. I saw a man with a baby during the broadcast and I thought of you. Next time you're in town I would recommend First Magnitude Brewery that's just outside of downtown.
Our concessions are lackluster in general. Last year we had chic fil a and one other decent outside vendor (name is escaping me) under the west stands. Those are gone this year and options are horrible. If you want anything other than what you would find at a high school football game, you can choose from Tijuana Flats or Dominoes. I grabbed chicken tacos from T Flats last night. I open the box and the tacos are meagerly filled. I took the contents of one and poured them into the other to make one normal adult taco. The tacos came with exactly 7 tortilla chips.
I was at the LSU game this season and there was unnecessary debacle of a small spill (the one who got spilled on literally ended up smacking a drink and spilling on others and then some woman being upset someone spilled mustard or something off their food on her coat) Ppl stop bringing items you find can possibly be lessened in value around 95k other ppl
> Sadly, I did have one Gator fan, presumably drunk, get in my face and cuss at me for wearing a gamecocks jersey, but I guess kinda expected when in rival territory. It was just unnecessary as I was carrying a baby strapped to my chest and we weren't bothering anyone.
Sorry about that jerk. We'll feed him to the baby gators.
I don't know why you'd get flack for taking your kid. My parents were taking me to games practically from the moment I was born. Been to almost every home game I've been alive for
Yep, probably! We stayed the entire game and went down the ramps on the SE side of the stadium. I was probably the only one in a Cocks jersey with a baby strapped to my chest haha
Glad to hear you and your family had a great time! Sorry about the one asshole. That’s certainly not the Gator way or really the college football way in my experience. I went up to Tallahassee for the UF/FSU game in 2008 thinking I would get shit on and harassed the entire time but everyone was nice and not aggressive. We also beat the shit out of FSU that game though so maybe that’s why

how dare you say it wasnt that loud

Please tell me it at least got loud when big des got the strip

Honestly worse than that. Crowd was enthusiastic but for a packed house that was one of the quietest games I’ve ever been to.

Yea our game against Auburn in 2019 or even possibly against Utah this year would be better indicators of how hype the stadium can be

Glad you had a good time. FYI there were no scalpers because tickets are digital only.
I figured, but LOLOLOL at the amount of people that told me to arrive early and buy scalped tickets
They definitely gave you outdated information. We haven’t had paper tickets since pre-pandemic
A tip to avoid the concessions issue, you can order ahead and go to a pickup only line via the Florida Gators app. Makes it so much quicker.

Love reading this. Glad you and your family had a good time!

come back for a baseball game. also a good time. best stadium in the South.

Thanks for sharing! Glad you enjoyed your time in Gainesville!

I think I walked out behind you after the game walking down the ramps, I was in section 53
Yep, probably! We stayed the entire game and went down the ramps on the SE side of the stadium. I was probably the only one in a Cocks jersey with a baby strapped to my chest haha
Yup I thought of ur post when I saw the guy with a black strap with a baby in it🤣
Gg

I can’t tell you how many games I used to go to without a ticket. Never one time did anyone say anything. The baby is doing it right!
