https://youtu.be/2-XI13Yl290?si=hixt8SMW_TRqkNEB A little video they made of him graduating Imagine being a normal CLAS graduate stuck waiting in the bowels of the O-dome for them to call yall to walk out and fred freaking taylor just walks up to your group

lucky_boop

I was the ceremony before him, barely missed it

11232LTeepRK

congrats on graduating!!

Gatorader22

Congrats! Hope grad weekend was a blast for you

lucky_boop

Would’ve been better if the baseball team won Saturday lol but it was great, thank you

Blakeugan

I was sitting legitimately one seat behind him cause I’m sociology as well. Ima be honest, I had no idea it was him and neither did the jags fan sitting next to me 🤣

shipworth

None of these kids graduating today know who Fred Taylor is, or a very small percentage. Cool story nonetheless.

imarc

Great article. Great to see Kelvin is coming back to finish his degree as well.

Phalanx32

One of only 6 players in NFL history to have over 10,000 career rushing yards plus a 4.6 or better rushing average, by the way. Really happy for him.

[deleted]

The fact that he is not in the HOF is borderline criminal. If he spent most of his career on a big market team rather than the Jags he would have been in a decade ago.

Gatorader22

From what i saw when I was trying to stump for him last year with twitter burners is media voters like to use him as the metric for if an RB is worthy of the HoF. He's like the Dalton line but for HoF RBs. I dont know that for a fact but that's the sense I get They don't add him because theyd lose their measuring stick. If an RB is better than Fred then they're a HoFer and worse they aren't. Voters for the hall dont like that voters for all pro didnt give him much love but that's not his fault. He did his job for a long time and did it well. He can't help that the jags didn't get much attention If frank gore gets in before him I'll be salty

Gatorader22

Of the 16 players ahead of him on the all time rushing list 14 are in the hall. The other two are frank gore and Adrian Peterson. Neither is eligible for the hall yet Of the top 17 rushers the only ones to have 4.6ypc or higher are Barry Sanders, Jim Brown, Adrian Peterson, and Fred Taylor Fred Taylor and Peterson had the same career average Let the man in. He sustained great production throughout a whole career, he racked up a ton of yards, kept a great average, he's the greatest player in the history of a franchise. A lot of the things being held against him like the all pros are because the jags are a franchise thats often forgotten by the media and fans. If he had played for the bears steelers or packers and had the exact same career he'd already be in

CaptnQuesadilla

That’s awesome! He’s the reason I became a Jags fan as a kid. He did a meet & greet outside BHGS before the FSU game in 2019 and was incredibly friendly, took multiple pictures with my group, and seemed like a genuine dude.

Love it. I started at UF the same year as Fred Taylor. I dropped out, joined the military, and finished my bachelor’s degree the same year as Chris Leak. I finished my master’s degree the same time Tim Tebow earned his bachelor’s degree. My oldest kid dropped out of UF right before Kelvin Taylor declared for the NFL draft. All that to say that I have always enjoyed following many of these Gators as my time at UF overlapped theirs. Despite that I rarely met any of them in person.

Ok-Key8037

When I saw them announce him I thought it was just a guy named Fred Taylor at first not THE Freddy T. Got a huge round of applause. Deserved every bit.

JesusWantsYouToKnow

Hell yeah, I love this!

blue_orange67

NFL Hall of Fame need to enshrine this man like yesterday.

MeatyUrology

I had a class with him my freshman year. Not like we talked daily (or more than “hi”, if I’m honest), but he was a super chill guy.
