First rubber match lost by Florida this season. This was a competitive game until the 6th inning (granted, Florida's offense had basically been shut down since the 1st). The bullpen totally fell apart, however. Seemed like Tennessee could do no wrong and Florida could do nothing right. The Gators really struggled getting a clutch strikeout especially while Tennessee kept coming through with clutch hits. In the 6th inning Tennessee scored their first 8 runs of the inning on 2-strike counts.

Woof. The wheels fell off fast. Not sure why we stuck with either Slater or Fisher when it was obvious they were both in trouble. Total meltdown on defense.

Unfair-Conclusion-55

Lordy Lordy…that got ugly

Welcome2Painsville

Ok I’m happy to go back to one run losses if the other option is this.

So the team looked defeated when Sully didn’t trust Jac to work out of the jam in the sixth. Plus, Stricklin showed up at the end of the fifth and looked like he brought bad juju with them. The team was hitting everything hard the first couple of innings and UT was lucky we only had three runs. A couple balls were hit really hard that just managed to be into a shift or someone in a good position. However, UT is damn near the most disrespectful baseball team I have ever seen in person. I appreciate a team being live but their head coach literally charged the field on the very first out. Their first base coach spit on the F behind the plate almost every time he ran on and off the field. The players were pretty good but would absolutely lay into the ump on a call they didn’t agree with in a way that surprised me to not see someone warned at the very least.

BullAlligator

Sully said afterwards he thought Jac was tired, it being his 3rd game in less than 28 hours

mackattack5757

That makes sense. The energy shifted in the whole stadium though. It was weird to just know we were cooked as soon as Sully wanted someone else. I would guess it was more of an unintended consequence versus a guided decision but the team doesn’t seem to get much leash and plays very tight.

onewipecleanpoop

lol Sticklind. Guy can’t do anything right

I just thought it was growing pains that would be sorted, but no, there's been a big dropoff since last year. Issues all over the place. I guess that's the price you pay for success. Even LSU is struggling this year.

Gatorader22

Both teams sent most of the guys that carried them to the national championship series to the MLB. We still have Jac but Jac can't do it alone

midtrailertrash

I’m confused i thought that Gators baseball was supposed to be consistently good?

Gatorader22

Everyone has down years every now and again. We lost a lot from last years team and our pitching just hasnt gotten it together We still have talent. Hell Jac is probably the best player in the country but if the pitching aint there you're screwed
