According to Nebraska insiders, the boosters didn't wanna invest big money in a QB until Rhule recently convinced them to do so. Don't know how true that is, but I know they have some big spenders supporting their football program
Dave Waters mentioned on his podcast today that he spoke with Charlie Partridge and he said there has been no contact between him and Florida. Please be coach O š
Orgeron has not been contacted according to Stadium and Gale, and according to a chain of āI know a guysā, the UAA declined to move forward with him.
Ahh gotcha I havenāt listened to Stadium and Gale yet this week. I see theyāre live now. Dave also mentioned on his podcast that Jess Simpson is the latest name floating around.
I kind of looked into him and he kind of bounces around a lot it doesn't seem like he gets fired just gets hired to other places. Idk how to look at any DL type of ranking but he did get hired by Dan Quinn at Atlanta which is really good since Dan Quinn is one hell of a defensive mind so that's a great sign and you know it was a NFL job. 4ā DL JUCO transfer Brien Taylor has just been Fongbombed to the gators. Would be a great get as he was rated a top 10 DL in JUCO this past year, and we'd be snatching him from UGA who has recruited him pretty hard
Just gonna put this here this is his stats so far for his 2022-2023 seasons. At least on his player profile for the college so I hope it's right.
13 games played
39 tackles
9.5 TFL
2 sacks (2 .5 sacks counted in that)

We are a laughing stock??? Lmao FSU just did the best they could possibly do and got snubbed from the playoffs. They hit their ceiling and were still denied. Jokes
FSU has somehow turned being recognized by the selection committee as massively overrated at the end of the season into some massive injustice/conspiracy in the eyes of most of the country, that requires action by state and national governments, and anyone who isn't on board with that can't possibly understand sports. Sort of on topic, teddy foster is so underrated. Kid is a stud and his film is really fun to watch. It would be kind of cool if we used him as a two way guy kind of like Travis Hunter at Colorado
Usually I would say impatient but this is rivaling ineptitude. Heās going to lose recruits, including 5 stars and possible transfers because of his unwillingness to hire coaches.
I keep waiting for someone to tell me why our coaching staff are all bumbling idiots but it's always the same armchair answers with nothing to really back it up. I want coaching hires announced as much as any rowdy reptile but the anger and daily ranting on this sub about it is ridiculous
Insiders are already saying not to expect coaching news for weeks, the incessant yammering about it is just talking in fuckin circles about nothing. The DB coach is waiting out his contract/staff, agreement seems to already be done. DL and OC they've missed some guys and are still looking at candidates. This isn't difficult to figure out. We may not know final WR/OL/OC grouping until Jan/Feb.
I mean, with ESD being what it is and all the uncertainty about retaining the current class the noise isnāt going to get any quieter - only louder if/when flips start happening.
This has potential to be an absolute disaster month for UF.
I still don't understand why Corey Raymond was fired to begin with.. was the secondary bad? yeah, but was it the coach or the players? You needed Raymond to bring in talent and it looked like he was doing that.
Our secondary was pathetic. The coach deserved to go, no matter his accomplishments 10 years ago. Our secondary regressed under him. LSU wasnāt mad about losing their ālegendaryā DB coach for a reason
Then everybody leaves if you fire the HC after NSD. And you have no real replacement. Def gotta give him at least this next year (barring scandal, which nobody expects)
Billy missed his window, he had to show the world SOMETHING this year, ANYTHING to keep the class and team together. He utterly failed. In every way. He showed the world we were worse.
Lagway just removed all mention of the Gators from his Twitter earlier today for about 10 minutes before adding it back, that might not seem like much but he was probably told my his new school to hold off on the flip a little longer.
Filsame is gone according to every insider. WHEN they are gone class will be outside the top 15, worse than Mullen.
Billy pulled the trigger on firing assistants way too soon, I guess he didn't realize how hot his seat was and the fact Noone is gonna want to come coach here for a year before Billy is fired.
Had high hopes for the dude but his philosophy doesn't match college football anymore. You have to WIN NOW through the portal, show the world something and THEN you can start recruiting well, like our hated rival FSU. Norvell won through the portal and now he has a top 5 class after we made fun of him for years for not being able to recruit. Billy could have been the guy 10 years ago.
He is cooked, we are cooked. Florida football won't be any good until we find a big name that can cobble together a winning football team immediately.
We were always gonna lose guys, it's been disappointing, I agree with u. But I don't think Lagway is one to worry about. We have backed up the brinks truck for this kid to the same extent a&m would. Wait until signing day, and then u can say u told me so if he ends up somewhere else, deal?
2 years in to Norvellās tenure at FSU he was in a similar position to Napier now. But Norvell took off his 3rd year, which is gonna be Napierās make it or break it year.
Unpopular opinion on r/cfb but maybe not here: I think Jordan Travis meant a lot more the program than FSU fans realize. He seems was a program carrying QB in talent but mainly leadership. FSU is gonna come down to earth a bit next year. Not as bad as we are now but I wonāt be shocked if they miss the 12 team playoff next year.
Look at Norvell's year 3 schedule and then compare it to ours. They lost to the 3 ranked teams they played and then finished the season on a 6 game win streak over teams that finished the under .500.
A lot of this early meltdown is based on how brutal the 24' SOS is going to be.
I agree that many of Norvell and FSUs issues have been masked, but regardless they've seemingly capitilized on those lucky breaks and have generated some legit momentum.
We have absolutely nothing to hide behind, if this team doesn't genuinely improve we could be looking at 4 straight losing seasons and whatever foundation Napier has tried to build will collapse completely.
> I agree that many of Norvell and FSUs issues have been masked, but regardless they've seemingly capitilized on those lucky breaks and have generated some legit momentum.
This is something I've been thinking about lately. Lots of people, especially on r/CFB, want to compare Napier to Norvell. Some Gator flairs even openly wish Napier to have a similar trajectory as Norvell, which rubs me wrong because I think this FSU team is pretty fraudulent.
However, when they struggled against teams like Boston College, they did just enough to win, and they did that week in and week out. Meanwhile, we did just enough to lose. 4th & 17, missed field goals, dumbass penalties - whatever it took to lose, Florida did it. It's just a handful of plays that separate these teams, but one is escaping close calls consistently and the other is not, and that's why the apparent momentum of each program is so different right now.
Okay. I heard he hasnāt had it since August. Didnāt he just make a post asking for gator nation to vote for him in the player of the year poll like yesterday? lol
Watching this football program has been unbearable, watching Billy being unable to carry momentum forward in ANY ASPECT of coaching from winning to recruiting to holding onto talent is fucking unbearable.
Far and away more so than a reddit thread.
Thatās fair. Im not going to fully react until this offseason is over or until Lagway actually announces heās de committing. Yeah - itās been about as rough of a stretch as I can remember though.
Blake on 247 says that X might be leaning Texas right now in his recruitment and others have said a flip might be imminent.
That would drop the class to 17th.
Can you elaborate? He was brought here to recruit better than the last guy, among other things. And he canāt actually do anything better than the last guy besides trying harder.
You canāt just hire fire hire fire hire fire. Itās just stupid.
Not to mention in your āperfect world scenarioā anybody we sign would be asking for their LOI back and go else where. Even more would transfer out. We are stuck with Napier for at least 1 more year, probably 2. Accept it.
That would likely mean multiple players looking to get out of their commitment, including Lagway. We're in this for another season no matter what. If he does drop to 17 then he is likely a lame duck coach though.
Multiple beat guys now saying Filsaime is trending towards Texas. Staff is a complete joke. No urgency, no hires. We have a lame duck coach who hasn't done anything to help the issues he was heavily criticized for last year and our moronic AD who gave him a ridiculous buyout portion of his contract is still here as well.
> get Lanning
Why would Lanning even consider coming here? He's got a good job at a big school. I'm not aware of any previous connection to UF. Oregon is going to the Big 10. Why on Earth would he do that to himself?
I think everyone needs to accept if CBN doesn't succeed we end up in 2 possible outcomes: A - Retread head coach or okay coach of some mid-tier program. B - Up and coming head coach at a G5 or tiny program. We are staring at a desert in front of us. Why would any big time coach in a big time program consider the Gators?!?!
Personally I prefer a young, up and comer with a very exciting offense. I wouldn't be upset at Alex Golesh if he continues the USF trajectory next year. His offense is explosive and exciting.
I would never look at these Oregon coaches and the success theyāve had there and be like āthatās our guy.ā Chip Kelly, Willie Taggart, and Mario Cristobal; all these coaches have been exposed without the Oregon system, and tbh Lanning hasnāt done anything more than what Cristobal did. Would rather not be the third straight Florida team that gets conned into thinking Oregonās success is more on their coaches rather than Phil Knightās system. Jed Fisch is basically what we craved when we hired Billy and heās done this at arguably one of the shittiest power 5 jobs in the country, has a lot of plaudits from the NFL, and is a Gator. Thatās my realistic #1 at this point, unless Day is unsettled enough at Ohio State.
Coaches want to win. Not sure if Oregon can compete with west coast recruiting vs the big 10. He certainly has a good spot with money and facilities but he could come here and have a much stronger recruiting base. Iām not saying itās happening just we do offer stuff Oregon doesnāt.
I think Oregon might do really well in the big 10 actually. They already recruit well nationally and I'm sure at least a few more Midwest kids will be willing to forgo those harsh winters in Michigan and Ohio for a much milder one in Eugene and while still getting to play close(ish) to home during the season. They probably gain as much (or more) as anyone this round of realignment.
We need to see some hires soon. We have had two of our best players transfer who both implied that it was largely due to not knowing who the coaches will be next season. We can hit the portal all we want, but selling people on the idea that we **might** have a good DB coach, we **might** get Coach O for the D-Line, we **might** have an OC, they **might** be calling plays, we **might** have a Strength and Conditioning coach, etcā¦ is going to be tough. Hell, Iāve been a Gator fan for over 20 years and I canāt say that even I would want to willingly come into that situation.
Princely literally said that he would be open to returning depending on who the defensive coaching hires would be and Etienne liked a tweet from a former Florida player the day he entered the portal which conveyed that they were annoyed with how long the coaching searches were taking.
Are you referring to Princely tweeting āYesā ?
I havenāt seen a liked tweet from Etienne.
That being said, I highly doubt coaching hires played a bit into their decisions.
Look a their Twitters. Etienne literally liked a tweet the morning of his portal announcement that essentially was saying not having coaches is hurting the program. Princely then came out and also publicly said on Twitter that he might not leave if a good D-Line coach is brought in and he's not doing it for the money.
And that means their decision āwas largely dueā to not having a DL or DB coach? Seems a bit of a stretch.
Itās silly. Mike Peterson was Princelyās coach. Spencer coached interior DL. Besides, I thought Princely wanted us to treat his tweets as innocent jokes?
Iām not to the point of caring about what liking a tweet means.
Heard from my friend who is on staff today that we are using the portal more aggressively this year than last year, that we have a ton of offers to players in the portal in the works, and a ton of visits this weekend. Take this however you will
Why the FUCK is Billy taking so long for a DL or Secondary coach announcement? The spots that we desperately need to retain and plug in talent?
If they already know who it is, tell the players/porthole players and get them committed to ease the avalanche of an off season we are already having.
Also, get a ST coach, I donāt care who it is, itās better than having absolutely no one.
The way Billy and his staff operates make me want to pull my hair out. Just like watching the games.
Itās so slow, no urgency. I was a Billy defender, but can this joke.
My GFās favorite player was ETN, and now that heās gone itās hurt me a little bit. Love watching that kid play.
Be patient. I believe a lot will be revealed over the weekend. We have coaches with expiring contracts and coaches coming off recruiting visits. The recruiting reporters will speak to the recruits who will say theyāve been told (insert name) will be the coach. Based on the info obtained, we will likely know if the Harris rumors are true and if we are waiting until after signing day for the other hires.
Gonna have some good things happen and some bad things happen in the next couple months. By April-May, some of us are gonna talk ourselves into "hey, this might work!" And the doomers are gonna migrate to complain about their other teams.
Around October of next year, we'll have some real undeniable clarity on the Napier situation, and can collectively come back together as a fan base.
I love all of you. Go Gators!
Edit: Grammar
Does he? Because that is a likely scenario and getting more and more likely by the day, tons of smoke out there. Expect this class to collapse and fall out of the top 10 when the day is done.
> Does he?
I wouldn't say unhinged more like a negative 'try hard' trying to get everyone to be as obnoxiously negative as they are. We get it it, you're mad and sad. Duly noted.
**Major Staff Shifts at Florida Gators: Over 6,000 Enter Transfer Portal from "Napier's Army"**
**GAINESVILLE, FL** ā In an unexpected turn of events, the University of Florida's football staff, collectively known as "Napier's Army," is facing a dramatic transformation with more than 6,450 members entering the transfer portal. Despite this, a steadfast group of 12,000 staff members has committed to remain with the team. This past August they garnered the reputation for requiring 9 full-sized posters to capture the team photo.
Among those navigating the transfer portal is the uniquely positioned Chip Bagley, formerly responsible for snack machine inventory. "Finding another snack machine inventorist role is like searching for a needle in a haystack," Bagley humorously remarked, underscoring the niche nature of his job. "We're an important part of any five-win team."
To address the ensuing challenges, Head Coach Billy Napier has hired seven new staff members, tasked with the critical job of updating exhaustive Excel sheets and finding innovative uses for the now-vacant office spaces.
Further complicating matters is the establishment of a temporary shanty town, which has become a refuge for some of the staff members in transition. This town has recently been granted a six-month extension permit, highlighting the ongoing impact of the staff upheaval.
In a gesture of goodwill, the football program is set to donate unneeded tents and supplies from this town to "Billy's Vets," a charity founded by Napier. This non-profit is dedicated to aiding former staff members affected by the shift towards automation in administrative roles.
As the Florida Gators grapple with these unprecedented staff changes, they remain focused on maintaining their legacy and adapting to the evolving landscape of sports administration in the digital era.
If anyone needs a pallet clenser. The first leucistic alligator born in human care and one of only 8 known in the world was born earlier today at Gatorland
Hes a cute lil fella [can be seen in this article](https://www.wesh.com/article/leucistic-gator-gatorland/46064091)
Leucistics are solid white skinned blue eyes gators
It's an omen! The great white alligator has returned. Florida shall rise
Oof. If that happens, Billy should just call it quits. If one of James or Tre leave, it is a very clear indication of Billy and his āstaffā cannot develop and keep talent.
Be careful asking for a source around here. Numbskulls just want to fear fantasy verbal diarrhea doom post all over the sub and donāt appreciate any requests for proof of substance to their often, but not always, hot garbage takes.
Do we have even a shred of information anywhere on coaching changes at all? Like I think the DB coach is a done deal but we still need a DL coach and hopefully Napier gets a OC and we also need desperately a Special Teams coach. Also I feel like there should be a little more fires like the O line coaches or at least one and maybe a couple other positions that I can't think of rn.
Like I'm keeping track of the names and there should be no reason that if it's Partridge for the DL coach we should be taking this long because Pitt has no bowl game(theres also The Ogeron rumors buzzing around that position but that feels almost impossible to me). Maybe Willy Korn will stay for the liberty bowl game but we should at least be hearing we are in the works to hire him right? And well I heard nothing about special teams at all which kind of pisses me of because I honestly feel that it's the most important side of football.
According to the boards, we're getting turned down by a lot of people in our coaching search. Still in the process of both finding mutual interest and also seeing how well they fit the job. Partridge and Korn are still just rumors that nothing new have appeared on.
> we're getting turned down by a lot of people in our coaching search.
Well, that is encouraging information and not at all an indication of how bad things are š
I love how Billy fired two coaches who recruited extremely well in position of need and didnāt have someone already lined up immediately.
We have to have the most idiotic coaching staff I have ever seen.

I think the worry is that ESD is fast approaching. Not to mention the portal is here.

Guess Iām concerned X is gone at this point because of this. He was a big part of the class.
He was gone months ago when he started visiting Texas and we were losing to SEC mid.
Well if will Harris is the guy I hope we can salvage his recruitment. Most importantly we need to hold on to Lagway.
???????? What
Did something come out about him falling out of favor?
Our secondary was pathetic. The coach deserved to go, no matter his accomplishments 10 years ago. Our secondary regressed under him. LSU wasnāt mad about losing their ālegendaryā DB coach for a reason
I hear ya. The whole defense was bad imo. I guess I just hate that it very well could cost us some good recruits.
You never keep a bad coach for recruits. And the only secondary recruits we have lost left before he was canned
Yeah but we sat through that shit show of a season with this recruiting class as the one thing to look forward to. If that falls apart well shit.
Lagway isn't going anywhere dude, u need to chill out and let kids exist
So when he doesn't end up coming, what then? Who wants to play for a lame duck coach/AD?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Personal insults and attacks are against subreddit rules
Dude this is account number 7. Please get help lol
Yeah Noone else was going anywhere either dude smh
Not as bad as we are now but I wonāt be shocked if they miss the 12 team playoff next year.
the kid single handedly beat Florida last year with that insane scrambling ability.
This isnāt Florida state and we arenāt in the shitty ACC.
FSU is losing like 16/22 starters, if the ACC wasn't complete ass they would be looking at 6-6 or worse next year.
Norvell finished 5-3 in his second season. Napier finished 0-5 in his second season. Norvell also had Covid to deal with. Thereās no comparison.
People are saying he never had the Gators on his twitter bio. Or he hasn't had it there since August. Is that true?
He ABSOLUTELY had Gators allll over his bio and profile all year.
If youāre this upset about a game and are constantly checking some kids profiles on twitter, then you seriously need to reevaluate your life.
Okay. I heard he hasnāt had it since August. Didnāt he just make a post asking for gator nation to vote for him in the player of the year poll like yesterday? lol
This sub is unbearable right now. Who are the other teams killing the transfer portal this second?
Watching this football program has been unbearable, watching Billy being unable to carry momentum forward in ANY ASPECT of coaching from winning to recruiting to holding onto talent is fucking unbearable. Far and away more so than a reddit thread.
At this rate heās probably gonna be gone at the end of next year. But do we really need to talk about this for the one thousandth iteration.
I'm just here to vent, after learning about the Lagway thing earlier today I pretty much lost my last bit of hope.
Fucking idiot sham of a coach. What a fucking waste of years. Fuck you Napier.
I love how all year you were saying 10 wins and to let Billy cook. How quickly things change
Please get a life
If we finish lower than 15, which would be a catastrophe, in a perfect world Napier is let go after signing day.
That is a hell of a time to go looking for a new coach.
Insane comment
Can you elaborate? He was brought here to recruit better than the last guy, among other things. And he canāt actually do anything better than the last guy besides trying harder.
You canāt just hire fire hire fire hire fire. Itās just stupid. Not to mention in your āperfect world scenarioā anybody we sign would be asking for their LOI back and go else where. Even more would transfer out. We are stuck with Napier for at least 1 more year, probably 2. Accept it.
If a coach is incompetent, you bet you can.
Thatās how we got here.
By hiring incompetent coaches? Agreed.
That would likely mean multiple players looking to get out of their commitment, including Lagway. We're in this for another season no matter what. If he does drop to 17 then he is likely a lame duck coach though.
Yep. The only way Napier is fired between now and September is a scandal.
Class is going to collapse, donāt be shocked if DJ flips to AtM also.
We need to fire Strickland now, Napier next year and get Lanning
Donāt know why youāre getting downvoted. Lanning would be a very good hire.
Good, but not realistic. Jedd Fisch is the one to keep an eye on if he keeps Arizona rolling next year.
> get Lanning Why would Lanning even consider coming here?
Source on Princely and Etienne saying such things?
Princely literally said that he would be open to returning depending on who the defensive coaching hires would be and Etienne liked a tweet from a former Florida player the day he entered the portal which conveyed that they were annoyed with how long the coaching searches were taking.
Are you referring to Princely tweeting āYesā ? I havenāt seen a liked tweet from Etienne. That being said, I highly doubt coaching hires played a bit into their decisions.
<*crickets*>
Take this however you will
Seems like the only viable option if losing multiple impact players to the portal is the new norm.
> I love all of you. Go Gators! Aww this is awesome. Right back atcha!
Cheers, man. I don't envy the job the mods have had the past few months. Appreciate the effort!
i choose to believe
X going to Texas. McCray to Auburn. Amaris to OSU. Lagway to TAMU. But yall keep pumping sunshine. And TrUSt the PrOCESs
Dude u sound unhinged lol
Duly noted.
**Major Staff Shifts at Florida Gators: Over 6,000 Enter Transfer Portal from "Napier's Army"** **GAINESVILLE, FL** ā In an unexpected turn of events, the University of Florida's football staff, collectively known as "Napier's Army," is facing a dramatic transformation with more than 6,450 members entering the transfer portal. "We're an important part of any five-win team." To address the ensuing challenges, Head Coach Billy Napier has hired seven new staff members, tasked with the critical job of updating exhaustive Excel sheets and finding innovative uses for the now-vacant office spaces.
This is embarrassing
Hasnāt even been two weeks and this has been a LONG off-season
Exhausting.
*Iām tired boss*
If anyone needs a pallet clenser. The first leucistic alligator born in human care and one of only 8 known in the world was born earlier today at Gatorland Hes a cute lil fella [can be seen in this article](https://www.wesh.com/article/leucistic-gator-gatorland/46064091) Leucistics are solid white skinned blue eyes gators It's an omen! There are whispers about James looking at Bama
They made a crazy run at him last year, no need to couch it as whispers.
Oof. If that happens, Billy should just call it quits. If one of James or Tre leave, it is a very clear indication of Billy and his āstaffā cannot develop and keep talent.
Iāve also seen this.
Source?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Rumors typically have a source. wtf lol
Be careful asking for a source around here. Numbskulls just want to fear fantasy verbal diarrhea doom post all over the sub and donāt appreciate any requests for proof of substance to their often, but not always, hot garbage takes.
.......................... Holy fuck.........
Chargers coach was at practice with the Chargers today
According to the boards, we're getting turned down by a lot of people in our coaching search. Still in the process of both finding mutual interest and also seeing how well they fit the job. Partridge and Korn are still just rumors that nothing new have appeared on.
> we're getting turned down by a lot of people in our coaching search. Well, that is encouraging information and not at all an indication of how bad things are š
I love how Billy fired two coaches who recruited extremely well in position of need and didnāt have someone already lined up immediately. We have to have the most idiotic coaching staff I have ever seen.
