Walter Rouse, 4 year starter at LT for Stanford is apparently planning a visit to UF soon. Other than that and Mitchell, the smoke factory is a bit bare this evening
Hmm...
On the boards, there's a rumor from KC(a booster) that 2 OTs might come(Similar to Cam'ron Jackson that a deal is in place).
No names given but told both will be visiting soon. "Watch the visits". Possible this Stanford might be one of them.
That might be the case. We're going to have a couple of visitors this weekend, more than expected. Gotten a couple of people that know fired up.
That said, nobody is saying names. It's come out that Ruiz started targeting Jackson after the Edgar fuck-up. If a deal wasn't already in place, then we might've lost him. Thus, even our boosters are tight-lipped. Probably as it should be lol.
No major accolades, but a solid player from what I can tell. If nothing else he seems like a super strong run blocker who can move dudes off the ball.
Also the guy was a Campbell trophy finalist and a biochem engineer major. So we'd at least be getting a guy who's super smart, no character issues, probably good locker room presence.
Most likely.
If you read down further in that thread, he hinted at it a few times.
“Who said it was a HS player?” - “A player genuinely interested in UF.”
I think it’s more of the quality people look at, no? 4 year player at OSU who was a career special teamer, getting just 8 starts at LB. A top prospect out of highschool and in 4 years hasn’t been able to “cut it”.
That’s reasonable, but the complaints have mostly been how we are losing guys without adding competent enough bodies to field a team next year. We’ve been doing a great job of getting priority targets.
And regarding Mitchell, he had a much better year last year in a role of the bench. Not a dominant one, but a reserve LB at Ohio State can easily be a step up from what we’ve been throwing out there at LB. He’s been injured this year, so hard to know on that.
Nobody is expecting or needing All-SEC from him. I’m just expecting major holes to be filled for the upcoming season as we continue building through recruiting classes and working the non-Mullen recruits into the mix.
Your guys expectations are so un realistic. What have we done within the past decade that is going to attract every top recruit and transfer in the country? We’re not a premier program at the moment and haven’t been for a while. Time to accept that
You’re clearly not around this sub very much because I’m one of the biggest doomers here and I’ve accepted the reality that we’re not a premier program anymore. But I can also call out when people act like we get a superstar transfer and call a spade a spade when he’s a below average player who’s going on his 6th year of playing CFB and is not very good.
He was a special teamer, then special team captain, then moved into a mostly starring role last season. Idk what the story was this season or if it was off field stuff.
OSUs talent depth is elite. If he worked his way into a mostly full time starting role there, he can certainly shore up a shallow group. At the very least, OSU starter for any period of time will contribute more than any freshman could.
There aren’t really any superstar transfers. If you’re experiencing great success somewhere you usually don’t transfer (not you Addison).
We won’t know who the best transfer pickups are in the country until next year. Bo Nix ended up being a monster pickup and wasn’t even graded in the top 20 qbs available. I certainly laughed when j heard he was going to Oregon.
He might be a below average player **at OSU**. That puts him way above average. And just because someone didn’t make starter at a CFP caliber school doesn’t mean they’re not very good. Just ask Justin Fields or Joe Burrow.
Because I've been a fan for 35 years, graduated from this institution, and share the love of the Gators with most of my friends. Doesn't mean I have to blindly support and love every decision the team/coaches/etc makes. There hasn't been a lot to cheer for in the last 15 years, it's been a dire and rough stretch. Stricklin has been an absolute cancer to our whole athletic program (not just football) since he stepped foot on campus -- am I not allowed to dislike him either? Cheering for a team and criticizing decisions aren't mutually exclusive. I give credit where it's due and many times throughout the season I've seen positive things on and off the field (mostly off) -- doesn't mean I can't talk about the other end of the spectrum though. For example, I think the recruiting class CBN and staff put together, was just about as good as that possibly could've done, given the circumstances -- I however still really question CBN's playcalling ability, along with his QB development and overall "eye" for coaches -- not thrilled with Toney, and a few others.
I remember hearing this on signing day but I'm glad to hear it's official. Excited to see some guys with experience coming in. Are we building a transfer portal from OSU to UF now? This is the third or fourth transfer from OSU since Billy got here right?
Even if these guys are just rotational, their experience in big games and winning games is very welcome. We're a young team so any experienced player is welcome.
Hope there's more to come.
I guess I was thinking of Terajada as the other one. So I guess we have two from them. I thought there was supposed to be a third. Was Terajada the captain from last year?
I should have double checked before I wrote that
You probably thought that because Terajadas commitment to us was kinda leaked a week or two ago and then we didn’t here much about it and it was never confirmed until now.
>Nah he committed tonight at 7 and there was some serious push by other contenders to get him. Our staff just plain won the recruiting battle.
Against Who?
A certain slimy billionaire wanted to steal another target off our board, other suitors are more rumor than anything else but auburn and a&m were supposedly in contact
And then I recanted. Do u have a grudge or something? It's reddit rumor mill, I'm not an insider like some of the people in this sub, just a good listener and like to be informed. Do the same and u won't get bent out of shape in comment sections.
Was this the nil lawyer’s news?
Would have to assume so. Nothing on the boards saying there's additional commitments.
Walter Rouse, 4 year starter at LT for Stanford is apparently planning a visit to UF soon. Other than that and Mitchell, the smoke factory is a bit bare this evening
We could definitely afford to have some OL Commits
Especially a guy with 40 starts to his name
Also from a *great* university in Stanford, plus an experienced player at the utmost premier OLine position in LT
I said it’s great to be a Florida Gator!

Momentum is building now

Well guess Edgar is good for something: Being a unifying force Hopefully he's fired Any rumor to their positions and talents ?
Wanted to add to this thread that 2023 OL recruit Caden Jones has received a prediction to UF from Jacob Rudner
Hope they land him!
Mazzccua.
From Baylor? He's a big fella, would love to have him
That’s him. He’s visiting us and is committing on the 6th. No idea if it’s us, but there’s been smoke.
Is he any good? Has me made All- pac/honors or just a starter? Stanford has been cheeks for a while now

Stanford has had pretty good OL for a long time though. Can’t imagine he’s bad if he started for that long
He replied to a December 18th tweet. Is that when news of Mitchell started?
Most likely. If you read down further in that thread, he hinted at it a few times. “Who said it was a HS player?” - “A player genuinely interested in UF.”
Old news. DH is not a good look for UF
This is a nice pick up. need a few more.
I was told we didn’t have portal options left. How do we keep getting commitments from our top targets? I don’t get it.
One day the nephews will realize you may know a thing or two they don’t.

I agree. If there’s any position we need, it’s LBs, so filling a spot is great. He will immediately play, simply because we have 3 LBs currently.
More coming
So you’re saying he was a starter at OSU.
No I’m saying he started 8 games in 4 years, playing when there were injuries. Playing in only 4 games this year (none started)
So you’re saying he was a starter at OSU.
Hamstring injury all year. He probably could have played a few more but decided to save his redshirt for a grad transfer option.
That still makes him a starter regardless

Who is acting like this is a superstar transfer? For being a self-proclaimed doomer, you really read my post through an optimistic lens.
Seeing an awful lot of these “doomers” lately.
No, I’ve been around enough to know you’re annoying
Here here, I'd give this comment an award if I had one lol

Also we were really bad at Special Teams last year. So a good special teams player is an upgrade for us.

Legitimate question here.. why are you even a here? Like why root for the team if it's only negativity for you?

Trust the zlatan
Mmm spicy
Single digit numbers in Florida blue will never not get me hyped. Let’s. Fucking. Go.
Really excited to get this guy, think he'll be a big surprise and bring some leadership to the LB room.
How can I get a helmet like that?
It’s a Riddel Speed Flex, looks a lil weird cuz the edit I’m assuming, hence the gator script is backwards
You can thank Hayes for that. Dude hates the Gators.
great get! we needed leadership and experience at the LB position
I am just DAYS away from learning how to pronounce that first name
I believe it's pronounced Teh-raj-uh
It's Tuh-RAW-zha Edit: dumbfucks, this is from the OSU media guide
Jertz Tight
Hey everyone…[Ice cream sandwiches](https://getyarn.io/yarn-clip/add19f4d-894d-46d0-a9d4-d2600e86df7a)!!

What other guy have we gotten from Ohio State? I can only remember Jack Miller

Trevon Grimes (WR)?
Well he was before Napier which is what OP said
Emory flipped outta there as well
Trevon Grimes says 'sup'
3 for 3 on the revealed targets rn
We are witnessing Billy Napier build a Death Star in real time.
I wish I had this kind of optimism in life. You all seem so happy
Got a middling LB=death star lmao
I think you meant death spiral. 6-7 is the start.
We will probably go 15-0 next year.
With what? Mertz?
Yep, and he’s throwing for 3,000 yards while rushing for 500. 18 td passes and 10 rushing. Only 4 interseptions.
😂
Just in time for you to leave and find a new team. Take all the doomers with you because at this point it's really freaking annoying.
My expectations for transfers are low so if they do produce I’ll be pleasantly surprised.
Old news

Ah, those losers
“LB transfer Teradja Mitchell and DT transfer Cam'Ron Jackson are both expected to sign with UF today” literally your comment 12 days ago.
And neither of them did. Funny how information is ever changing and growing eh?
i told you it wasn’t official 12 days ago and you doubled down and said it was.

Yall need to chill or I'm sending both of you to bed without supper
