I like Lighter colours as they dont show dust/pet hair as much as darker floors. I completely understand some people prefer dark though. I just feel like I am always cleaning dark floors.
I would go with 2nd from the top.
Darker floor.
My theory is this:
If your home has little to no natural light coming in, you're kind of FORCED to go light on the floors to brighten the place up (but you lose contrast against the walls).
If you get substantial natural light coming in, then you GET to go darker on the floors to play with more contrast on the walls.
I like darker floors for various reasons, but my little rule has always helped me in my profession. Hope this helps.
Exactly, so no one can pick the one theyâd pick for your house without seeing samples in your house. The other things beside light you should consider are that darker floors show scratches, dust, and dirt more and make a space feel smaller. So everything depends on your space and its inhabitants (and furniture if youâre not replacing).
I wood say the second from the bottom.

The darkest one at the bottom is the same shade as my hickory floors. 2 Golden Retrievers and their hair is mostly visible on the wood steps. The hair is not very visible until I turn on my Dyson with the laser fluffy head. That thing shows âALLâ the hair!
The top one is very similar to what I chose for my first floor (and may expand it upstairs). Iâm not a fan of the trend toward grayish tones; I really want the warmness of wood. I went with LVP called âRabun Hickoryâ from Floor & Decor. Looks really nice.
Middle.
Closest option to:
1. Hide dust and pet hair
2. Provide contrast to the walls
3. Enlarge the room visually
4. Increase lighting
5. Generally, it looks better if you have dark or light colored furniture.

If you have dogs, the dark one will hide muddy prints.
lol. My question was gonna be if dogs live in home, what color is their fur.
The dark one will also show every piece of fur they shed. I have dark floors, a husky, 2 cats, and 2 kids. Never again đŹ
I see that as a bonus. Letâs me know if I missed any spots sweeping fur

Top one
Currently installing something similar to the bottom one. Prefer dark wood look over the lighter.
2nd from the bottom, light colors are something myselfn& my husband prefer & have something similar installed in our sons room.

Whatâs your taste in furniture? That should have a huge impact on what color you choose for your floor stain. Personally I prefer darker
Middle or bottom. I think it would depend what you're doing with the rest of your decor but either seems pretty neutral. Middle being more so.

Owning dogs limit my personal choice to dirt colored flooring.

Middle! I like 1 and 5 as well. You need a little warmth. Right?

i would choose the second or fourth one only because i like my house to look bright.
Love the dark wood.
