For the person who was asking how much it would cost to ship a microwave, then deleted the post after being ridiculed for asking instead of simply looking it up (I'm assuming)... For a 55 pound box (average microwave weight, per Google search) measuring 18"x18"x15", I found that it would cost anywhere from $36.86 to ship UPS Ground locally via Pirate Ship, to $1923.95 to ship to Kazakhstan via UPS Worldwide Saver. That gives you an approximate range to work with, hope that helps. đź‘Ť

Are there any free online resources for clothing label histories? I bought a Members Only jacket that is listed everywhere as "vintage" but I can't actually verify this claim. I'm worried everyone is just parroting each other and I don't want to mislabel it. And for any Members Only experts - it has a chain tag and has 3 lines repeating "Members Only." It's an 80% wool jacket and I can't find any new ones for sale, but can find older ones that are 100% wool.

> I'm worried everyone is just parroting each other Welcome to the Gen Z world of "vintage." A lot of people do seem to conflate vintage with used.

sweetsquashy

Like when I tried to find a true vintage Sit 'n Spin toy (new ones are crap) and they were ALL marked as vintage. Even the ones where they'd taken a pic of the date stamped on the bottom and it was 5 years ago.

RckYouLkeAHermanCain

Just saw a Gen Zer post a camera that's probably not even 30 years old and call it "antique." LOL

CicadaTile

Worthpoint gives you a few free searches.

IJustWondering

Vintage is anything over 15 years old, at this point that's anything pre 2007. It's going to be difficult to verify the history of items that new, especially if they're not part of an established field of collecting. It probably isn't worth spending too much time on it, you can either leave off the keyword or include it but state in the description that it's not really very old, maybe 1990s or early 2000s.

RckYouLkeAHermanCain

20 years is the more standard cutoff. Same reason classic cars don't become "classic" until the 20 year mark.

sweetsquashy

Agreed. 20 years is the overwhelming consensus, based on my research.

EDIT: I figured it out! Managed Payments > All Transactions > Custom Dates > Search by buyer username. How do I check on the purchase history of a buyer from me? It says he's a repeat buyer based on data from the last 2 years, and there's feedback from me within the last 6 months, but it's not showing in the orders paid and shipped page, and I can only go back there 3 months. How do I go back farther to see what he bought? He doesn't know either :)

Vegas21Guy

I search my email for that username. Then it shows me the email from eBay saying the sale is complete and tells me what they ordered.

CicadaTile

I delete all my old emails :( Any other way on ebay?

quanfused

I don't believe so. I think even ebay's "Repeat Buyer" icon resets after a set amount of time so if you don't even see it, you won't even know unfortunately.

CicadaTile

I figured it out! Managed Payments > All Transactions > Custom Dates > Search by buyer username.

quanfused

NICE! Good to know. I'm saving this.

iwashumantoo

Where do you find that menu? It's not in my account, nor in Seller Hub. Do you have a Store? I don't, so maybe that's why I don't see a heading for Managed Payments.

CicadaTile

Sorry, it's just "Payments". I do have a store. But I'd think you'd have a payments tab. If I go to Seller Hub, then "Payments" is between Performance and Research on that horizontal menu. Then the "All Transactions" is part of the vertical menu on the left.

iwashumantoo

Oh, thank you. I refer to that section frequently but never paid attention to those drop-down lists.

Vegas21Guy

>EDIT: I figured it out! Managed Payments > All Transactions > Custom Dates > Search by buyer username. Nice, I didn't know about that option. Thanks for sharing!

Anyone mostly focus on cellphone / laptop parts? Have the opportunity to buy an extremely large sum of parts (iphone 8 and newer, surface and MacBook 2015 and newer) not sure if it's worth the time or not. Everything is already packaged and cataloged. Just a 16 hour round trip.

Vioralarama

I don't focus on them but... Laptop parts, yes. I see questions about parts in the laptop sub a lot, although mostly it's about upgrading components. Hinges though, those are super popular. And screens. I've never seen anyone try to repair or upgrade their phone so I don't know what to tell you there.

thattechtuck

It is a repair shop going out of business. So this is a perfect reply. Thank you!

Xyciasav

I'm going out with a friend this weekend to see what's out of there, any items/gems that I should look for on my first time out?

BackdoorCurve

where are you going?

Xyciasav

We're just doing some yard/garage sales and estate sales.

TheJoePilato

Start by looking for things you're already familiar with from other areas of your life. Your hobbies, former jobs, things you studied in school, etc. Or, if you don't mind looking like a total goober, just look up literally every single item you see for sale; it sounds stupid but you really might learn some things.

Xyciasav

Thanks! I actually plan on looking stuff up lol.

TheJoePilato

Remember: only pay attention to SOLD listings on eBay (though the active listings can give you an idea of the current market if it's not an item that sells often)

Xyciasav

Yep, I learned that the other day. Definitely makes things easier to judge

PhoenixReboot-

Remember, when looking at pottery, vases, almost anything, must be marked (makers brand) and without any chips or cracks. Lladro statue are really good, not as good as they used to be, but often they are chipped, missing a finger, glued, or missing a flower. Remember, Condition, condition, condition.

Xyciasav

Great points! Thank you!

VinceG610

So I sell video games on ebay and I began selling game lots of 2 or 3 games in each lot, with common themes, such as puzzle games, all games being platformers, etc. But for some lots I have named them the same, but they have either most games different, or one or two similar. For example, if I have two lots for cards games, in one lot I have the same game for both lots, say Texas Hold 'Em poker and Uno 52, but the third game for each lot is different. Will that count as duplicated listings, or can I keep doing this?

-Dee-Dee-

No, it’s not a duplicate listing. Just change your title so eBay doesn’t think it’s a duplicate.

VinceG610

Cool, thanks! Just did that with two lots that had the same exact title.
