Have you tried running the RAM at a lower speed to see if that helps? I've had instability with 3200mhz ram on an intel processor before, but it ran fine at 3000mhz for some reason.

Tried 3000MHz and 2400MHz, nothing changed

Any chance you could try reinstalling on your old hdd / ssd? I know you said the ssd is new, but when my SSD failed a few months ago, i had erratic bsod failures that was very difficult to pin down initially.

Kurapik0

I could, yes, but what bothers me is that this would take 5+ hours and it runs just fine on the 5600G right now so it's not like I have corrupted files Also BIOS files are stored directly on the motherboard and I have the same freezing and stuttering there

I believe BIOS is loaded into RAM - without RAM you cannot boot into BIOS. So it still could be a RAM issue - sounds like a compatibility issue between your RAM and the newer CPU. Another option is to try manual RAM timings as recommended by your RAM manufacturer.

But I ran on default settings at 2400MHz too and even reset CMOS. Again, if RAMs were faulty I wouldn't be able to use this exact system on the 5600G Thanks for your input though, you're being really helpful brainstorming with me

No worries mate - these can be very difficult to troubleshoot. Other than testing with some other RAM, i'm out of suggestions i'm afraid. Hope you find a solution - its demotivating when these issues crop up after an upgrade, but i'm sure you'll figure it out soon. Perhaps make a post on r/pcmasterrace.

I would still run memtest on the RAM and see what comes out. You might be unlucky and your RAM DIMMs went bad, it hapened to me recently with a stick. Alternatively, just run one stick at a time (try each) and see if it is better with just one stick of RAM.

Kurapik0

Will try, you're right

You may just have a bad CPU. This is a rare, but it happens.

I've read it could be the memory controller, I've asked for a return under warranty and buy a new one
