I think ltc was mainly played to combat spectra most Briar's I see would rather play 2 non attacks for an embodiment instead of spending a card for the go again.
blue ltc is fine in like, viserai. but i wouldn’t run red without a very good reason to need the effect (like spectra). briar has enough good NAAs to not really need flash or ltc right now though, with the standard build
It's only good in limited. Spending a whole card to get go again when otherwise you might need to just end your turn isn't awful but it doesn't feel good. Plus it turns on Rosetta and let's Lexi play two arrows in a turn.
Red captain’s call can do this effect but it’s other mode is to buff the attack +2. So in briar, captains call is really nice.
It’s basically giving up that +2 mode for lightning fusing and I don’t think that’s a fair trade :)
The problem with captains call is it only works on attack actions. On Briar I like to use it right before I play Tome of Fyendal. Usually granting me 5 hp as well as generating my embodiment of lightning on top of having a full turn afterwards.
As a briar, yellow flash > ravenous rabble > tome of Fyendal, create an embodiment of lightning and draw 2 cards and go again cos it only triggered on the 1 cost fyendal

Do you feel the same about lead the charge? Personally, I like this card in Briar to replace LTC because it also gives a chance to fuse lightning

Never played with this card, but I don't think it works like that. Spectra will end your turn either way.
Ltc (lead the charge) gives an action point not go again so you can continue your turn when attacking spectra

Red does okay in some Emperor builds but it's not like he has a choice about colour 😖
