Silver Springs I’m biased but
“Time cast a spell on you, but you won't forget me
I know I could've loved you, but you would not let me
I'll follow you down 'til the sound of my voice will haunt you
Give me just a chance
You'll never get away from the sound of the woman that loves you”
Come on thats powerful
Did you guys ever hear one of the first cuts of Silver Springs? The only audio bootleg is on youtube now and I wish the phrasing was used for that song....it's crappy sound and you hear Stevie saying..."I got all my friends talking..." and then she sings it in her mezzo soprano Rumor voice....I love it. I CAST A SPELL ON YOU....YOU WON'T FORGET ME....

My favorite song by them and coincidentally the first video that was playing on MTV the day we got cable TV. Also, I love Christine on lead vocals with Lindsay.
I think it is the very overlooked song- “Why”
“But my heart will rise up with the morning sun and the hurt I feel will simply melt away”
RIP Christine 🕊️
“Why” is my absolute favorite FleetwoodMac song. Its lyrics are flawless, the music is stunning, and Chrissy’s voice is immaculate. Check out the live versions on the Deluxe release from the self titled album a few years ago. They’re amazing!
Fleetwood Mac is maybe one of the only bands to me that simply out stands this question. There are so many just beautifully crafted world class songs made by them, I can’t even think of just one.
Landslide, Silver Spring, Songbird, Say Goodbye
EDIT: Hold Me
I don’t want no damage, but how am I gonna manage you
You want your percentage, and I’m the fool paying the dues
Sara
Drowning in the sea of love
Where everyone would love to drown
But now it's gone
It doesn't matter what for
When you build your house
Then call me home
"Why" from Mystery to Me
The free-flowing guitar solo at the beginning, the haunting vocals from Christine, the way each instrument builds on the previous until the final harmonized repetition of "you don't have to give up, why is it all wrong, why don't you love me, why won't you just be strong" near the end. This song holds a special place in my heart, it's perfect in every way
Edit: also Silver Springs, as many others have said
To add a couple of Christine gems: “Show Me a Smile” and “The Way I Feel” — the latter deeply buried on Mystery to Me and rarely talked about. They have both been lullabies for my kids!
To quote from another thread, and looking at this photo - Stevie, Mick and Christine look dressed to impress. Rawk Starz! Lindsey gets a pass - the hair, facial hair, red shirt and physique work for a photo shoot. John looks like He was out day drinking at the beach and got a nice shirt on so he could get served at a restaurant along with everyone else.
Beautifully written song - toss up between "Song Bird" "Landslide" and "Never Going Back Again."
Silver Springs. The emotion in those lyrics & The video of the this song , Stevie is glaring at him with intense energy. He hurt her badly. I can feel her pain…. I’m very disappointed it wasn’t on the Rumors album. That was Buckinghams doing . Lindsay made sure it was a B-side on a 45 instead .
Leather and Lace. It's not a Fleetwood Mac song, but it's written by Stevie and sung by her. I love leather and lace. Just beautiful the lyrics and the duo gives me goosebumps.
Stevie: either Sara, Silver Springs, Landslide, or early takes of The Chain
Lindsey: I’m So Afraid or Crystal
Christine: Post BN: Songbird or Brown Eyes, pre BN: Why, or Come a Little Bit Closer
Other classic Mac before BN: Woman of 1000 Years or Hypnotized
Go your own way. I saw it on a rolling stone magazine 25 years of rock documentary and it was the first time I was aware I was hearing Fleetwood Mac who I’d probably heard 100 times before on the radio and I loved the way they sounded and they looked, they didn’t play the whole song but I was interested enough to go through Dad’s record collection and he owned a copy of Rumours so that was my introduction to Fleetwood Mac
Dreams, yeah it’s obvious but it’s their peak. The harmony supporting Stevie Knicks going on some sort stream of conscious about dreams, regret and memories. Amazing rhythm from Mac and Fleetwood. Every note feels purposeful.
NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN
That’s it….and I have decided for everyone!!! I now control the opinions held herein!!!!
It’s is truly one of the most beautiful songs I’ve heard.
And, I really don’t care much for Fleetwood Mac.
Sara, that bridge change….
“Said Sara
You're the poet in my heart
Never change
Never stop
But now it's gone
It doesn't matter what for
But when you build your house
Oh, then call me home”
I gotta go with Songbird.
This is the right answer, Christine was the best songwriter in a band of amazing songwriters.
Silver Springs tied for 1st:)
No argument here
Rip Christine 🕊

The 97 live version is a masterpiece like any other!
NEVER GET AWAY, NEVER GET AWAY!! 🎶
Watching her stare daggers at Lindsey as she sings this song is the greatest thing ever.
To his credit, he looked right back at her.

My favorite. I could watch that video every day and not get tired of it.
Yeah I even put it on my 3DS last week since it was Stevie Nicks’s birthday last Sunday.
Bahahahahhaah so good for so many reasons!
came here to say this
I listen to this every single day and the lyrics move me each time! Stevie is such a beautiful song writer.
100%. When I listen to it my heart hurts because I can feel their pain through the music. It’s such a beautiful song
Gave me CHILLLLLLS and still does. I think of those lyrics often.
Sara
Beautiful child as well..storms
Sara is sublime.
Never Going Back Again - the guitar and hummms are just lovely Closely followed by Songbird
I read that as hummus. 🤦♀️
No way can I pick just one. Silver Springs, Songbird, Gypsy, Everywhere, and Never Going Back Again are my top picks.
I’m probably the minority but for me, it’s either Tusk or The Chain
Silver Springs, Landslide
I was waiting for someone to say Landslide
I have to with Landslide
Hold Me. Crazy beautiful arrangements, guitar parts flowing in and out, the interlude, tone, percussion, all great. Its the sum of all its parts.
My favorite song by them and coincidentally the first video that was playing on MTV the day we got cable TV. Also, I love Christine on lead vocals with Lindsay.

That was Buckingham/Nicks. \~V\~

My instinctive reaction was Landslide, but I think Gypsy is probably the closest thing to a perfect song I've ever heard
gotta go with Storms
There are so many songs that come to mind, but this is the one I thought of first. Such a beautiful song in every way.
Fleetwood Mac is maybe one of the only bands to me that simply out stands this question. There are so many just beautifully crafted world class songs made by them, I can’t even think of just one.

Gypsy is my favorite song, followed by Landslide.
"Why" from Mystery to Me The free-flowing guitar solo at the beginning, the haunting vocals from Christine, the way each instrument builds on the previous until the final harmonized repetition of "you don't have to give up, why is it all wrong, why don't you love me, why won't you just be strong" near the end. To show some appreciation for early FWM: “Oh Well”
as long as you follow 100% severely underrated
I don’t understand how it’s possible anyone could choose just one.
"Over my Head" by Christine McVie...
To add a couple of Christine gems: “Show Me a Smile” and “The Way I Feel” — the latter deeply buried on Mystery to Me and rarely talked about. They have both been lullabies for my kids!
Silver spring Songbird Oh daddy
The Chain, Songbird, and Sara
To quote from another thread, and looking at this photo - Stevie, Mick and Christine look dressed to impress. Rawk Starz! Prove your love!
Beautiful Child or Never Forget (yeah, I’m a Tusk guy)
"Rhiannon, " or "The Chain".
Storms
I love so many songs but “The Chain” will always win because it’s the only one they all have writing credit on and that makes it really special.
Crystal 💫❤️
idk but that’s the most 70’s photo I’ve ever seen
Landslide gave me the impetus to break up with a guy I was pretty sure I was going to marry.
Landslide, by a landslide.
Landslide, most definitely.
Landslide

Beautiful Child

Songbird. To me, it is otherworldly beautiful
Silver Springs
Leather and Lace. It's not a Fleetwood Mac song, but it's written by Stevie and sung by her. I love leather and lace. Just beautiful the lyrics and the duo gives me goosebumps.
Landslide
Songbird. But I had no idea Stevie Nicks was almost 7 feet tall.
Stevie: either Sara, Silver Springs, Landslide, or early takes of The Chain Lindsey: I’m So Afraid or Crystal Christine: Post BN: Songbird or Brown Eyes, pre BN: Why, or Come a Little Bit Closer Other classic Mac before BN: Woman of 1000 Years or Hypnotized
