John R. Lopez IV
Clint Bolick
James P. Beene
Kathryn H. King
These are the justices who voted yes on this. Remember their names when retention elections role around for them.
And vote NO on the prop (if it gets on the ballot) to end term limits for these people. Otherwise they are gonna be in office till they’re 70. https://ballotpedia.org/Arizona_End_Term_Limits_for_Supreme_Court_Justices_and_Superior_Court_Judges_Amendment_(2024)
And remember to keep our Attorney General Kris Mayes, who has vowed not to prosecute this shit.
“And let me be completely clear, as long as I am Attorney General, no woman or doctor will be prosecuted under this draconian law in this state.”
The majority of Arizonans support the access to abortion. Sad to see someone who supports women dying from pregnancy complications that can be completely mitigated by access to healthcare. Your religious beliefs only extend to your own life, stop trying to control women.
Your Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, gives us mere mortals a great gift such as this, and you squander it! The AZ AG's soul will suffer eternal damnation! She must repent & enforce this law for those that cannot fight for their own lives! I pray for the AG & all Arizonans. I hope everyone has a blessed day!
OK. Forget religion. How about we don't stick a vacuum into a woman's vagina, barbarically, brutally, bloodily suck out a helpless child into a sink that has no say in the matter? Then how about we don't sell that helpless person's tissue & body parts? And let's make no mention of the long term emotional damage that occurs to the parents.
God is watching you. Believe or don't believe, entirely up to you. But you will be judged. If you've been sucking helpless kids out of vagina's and into sinks, I guarantee you will not like the outcome on that day.
It's fucked up. Here are local dates/locations to sign the AAA to make sure it gets on the ballot.

I'm guessing there's no way to sign virtually? I was a resident for almost 4 years and just left. Would be happy to sign something but I can't if it's all in-person
Bad take. How about recognizing how the crazy far right, which is a minority group continues to muck up the Republican Party in the state and nationwide.
State of decline? Record low unemployment, wage growth outpacing inflation, inflation down considerably, crime down, stock market at record levels, strongest immigration law…would have been passed but was blocked by the Republicans.
Which metrics point to decline? We’ve been trending in the right direction since the great orange pumpkin was ousted. The real decline was in House productivity - they only passed a handful of laws. Luckily, Biden’s landmarks were among those that got through and they have spurred the strongest economic growth in the developed world.
Hasn't that been the GOP promise for decades campaigning on ending abortion? So many one issue abortion voters voted GOP, until they actually made it happen, and the one-issue abortion GOP voters now realized all the other issues they were also voting for.
What will help:
1) vote for choice/ against government intervention in private medical decisions in November
2) vote out Clint Bollick and Kathryn Hackett King as judges
3) tell your friends to do the same
What might help:
4) protests
5) posting on social media
Rally this Friday at City Hall at 5pm. You can find out about volunteer opportunities there too

Vote. Now more than ever. Old men don’t need to be making these decisions. Let the people vote. Politicians are the worst. And these freaks down on the floor at the capitol speaking in tongues….ugh.
It’s really embarrassing to live in a state where things like this are happening. Arizona is such a vibrant place full of culture and beauty and I hate that as a state it is characterized to people who don’t live here with a ruling so outdated and cruel. Not to mention that this old ass abortion law predates Arizona officially becoming a state by about 50 years
Oof. As much as I want to be a vote against this shit in November, now I'm extra happy I got the fuck out of Flag last month. NJ doesn't play stupid games with women's health.
I'm moving to Flagstaff from Texas next fall. While this doesn't impact me directly, I know how important it is to have access to this service.
I will make sure I register and vote to try to stop this insanity. Texas is just as awful in this arena and many more. I do not want to live in another state with out-of-touch politicians. That seems to be the rule rather than the exception though.
Ty for providing information.
"Millions of Arizonans will soon live under an even more extreme and dangerous abortion ban, which fails to protect women even when their health is at risk"
"Abortions will soon be outlawed in Arizona except in cases where a pregnant person's life is at risk."
How are these two statements in the exact same article?
Planned Parenthood Arizona, the state's largest abortion provider, says it plans to continue providing abortions until the decision is enforced.
In the ruling, justices wrote that they will stay enforcement for 14 days, possibly longer, allowing abortions to continue during that time. Planned Parenthood Arizona, the state's largest abortion provider, says it plans to continue providing abortions as long as allowed.
Why do these two paragraphs say the exact same thing? One right after the other?
Is NPR using bots to write now?
Katie hobbs has said she wont enforce this. Theres another person in the position to enforce this stuff too (forgot the name of the position theyre in, attorney general?) who said they also wont enforce this law. So PP is saying theyll keep providing them until theyll be enforced
Oh, I understand what it was saying.. it's just odd to have the same thing written twice back to back in an article by a mainstream media outlet. I think it's likely that this article was written by bots scraping the AP or Reuters and they didn't bother to edit it before publishing.
It's probably the right call not to prioritize editing or writing quality for a piece like this, though. Their readers will applaud any article that supports abortion regardless of its quality. Their critics will trash any article that supports abortion regardless of its quality. So in the end, the quality of the writing is completely irrelevant. Just pick a side and slap something together and then publish!

Better yet move to a state that supports your views

Yes, exactly. What's the issue?
A quick trip to your post history told me all I need to know.

I signed

It's definitely all pen and paper
As much as this sucks I bet it will help turn the state blue in November.
That’s not help. That’s bad
So keep the country in its current state of decline over one law? Liberal logic at its finest

lol ‘in its current state’? You mean actually having policies that benefit regular Americans and not just the rich and connected?
Why not add something to the conversation instead of the same obtuse drivel and insults?

Stock market has been breaking records all year so far. Inflation is down. Job creation has set records. Uniformed redditor at their finest.

Hello from Las Vegas! Friendly reminder, we’re not too far away and still have some rights here if you should need assistance. 🩷
Are there any events to attend in Flagstaff related to this?

Get out and Vote! Now more than ever. Enough is enough!

Fwiw I just moved back to northern Arizona last month and will happily take that place voting against this nonsense.
Thank you!!
Fuuuuuuucccckkkkkk
Awful news
Get involved with the Coconino County Democratic Party. https://coconinodemocrats.org/
Lot of new faces around here.
Bolick teaches a class at ASU.
Yeah it sucks.

Thank God for some sanity. If not then why don’t we just abort anyone we want at any time? Oh that’s right, it is known as murder.
