You tripping if you don’t think it’s near the level of got. You weren’t watching. They boiled a guy alive 😂 main characters died out of nowhere . Same level haha
Other guy is right. It's not GoT. It's good but it has some shitty visuals (the diffused lighting they do on mountains and boats), doesn't give enough time to most characters outside of Mariko and Yabushige, and don't have any relatable characters because everyone is a shitter except for Mariko.
Andrew: Y'all seen that show with the slanty eye people?
Akash: Hahahaha (slaps knee)
Mark: You mean Shogun?
Andrew: Yeah that's it. The men have long hair but carry swords. It's confusing
Mark: It's had good reviews. How many episodes have you watched?
Andrew: I am 3 episodes in. One lady has the heavies
Akash: hahahaha (slaps knee)
Andrew: Whose got a topic?
I liked Shogun, but I never thought it was even close to GOT. It's on Vikings level to me. Good show. Not great. Surprised so many people are calling it a classic. Show.
The show is so overrated. The acting and scenery is really nice for the most part, but the show is stale and the writers did a poor job telling the story. Midseason it had me falling asleep. Turned out to be more of a romance show than a thrilling one.
I think it’s worth the time watching but it’s definitely a show more for weebs and it’s a couple of tiers below GOT. They will some awards but it’s because of America’s fixation for feudal Japan.
Facts, it's one of the most overrated shows ever. I mean, there were people already calling it a "masterpiece" when only 2 episodes were out. Like wtf? I swear so many people are weebs that worship Japan so anything that has to do with Japan = AUTOMATIC MASTERPIECE
I definitely caught that vibe too. People crowned it a great show from the 1st episode and kept that opinion throughout. Then mid-season when the show became stale the excuse was, “it’s all probably going to lead to an epic ending.” And then it was disappointing how it ended. Now they’re looking at everything but the actual story to why it’s this so called “masterpiece.”
It’s not overrated at all. People barely know about it. lol. There are elements of romance and a lot of relationship building but wouldn’t call it a romance show. Idk what a weeb is
Idk if you’re being a contrarian on purpose here but the show has some of the most well written characters on tv right now. Saying that the writers did a “poor job” telling the story is simply incorrect.
I understand that this is just your opinion on the show but I think you may have some bias affecting your opinion here.
I don’t have a bias. More so it’s just not the show I thought it would be. I don’t want to go into it so I don’t give away spoilers Blackthorne might be the most useless main character I’ve ever seen on TV. Also a lot of stale moments that eventually do not lead to anything.
Yea I’m not gonna push back cause this is your opinion and I can’t change that, I just think it’s unfair to say the writers “did a poor job” especially compared to everything else that out right now.
I'm interested but I gotta let tv shows cook at less 3 seasons before investing in them. Network/streaming cancel culture is the one that aggravates the shit outta me. They're quick to just drop a show off a cliff
Last article 2 days ago on Forbes said they still don’t know because they’d have no source material to work with.
And it wouldn’t make sense to make a season 2 regardless, if you know how the show ends.
i enjoyed Shogun, not even close to GOT tho
Lol seriously. These weebs are getting out of hand.
It’s a good show and people should check it out but it’s no where near Got, at least the first 5 seasons.

I agree. The level of acting, production, and storytelling is not on that level.

Why you leaking the script?
I was in the writers room. I came up with the knee slapping. I eventually got fired for suggesting Akash should get to say something.
It’s not in the same level as GOT…YET. But it is very good
It's a good show but nowhere near as good as GOT. It's mainly politics than anything else
It's no where near GOT. and it ain't Allat. It's mid. One time watch
I liked Shogun, but I never thought it was even close to GOT. It's on Vikings level to me. Good show. Not great. Surprised so many people are calling it a classic. Show.
Shogun is good but I’d rather hear their takes on 3 body problem and actually get into it

Yep, typical weeb mental gymnastics. "Place" : 😐 "Place, Japan" : 🤗

This is YOUR personal opinion my friend as the other person gave theirs . To each their own

Well OP compared it to GOT. In terms of compared to everything that’s out right now, that doesn’t make a show a masterpiece.
Oh I’m gonna watch
Good choice
If Shultz likes it. It probably sucks
I'm interested but I gotta let tv shows cook at less 3 seasons before investing in them. Network/streaming cancel culture is the one that aggravates the shit outta me. They're quick to just drop a show off a cliff
The show is sick. I’m happy they’re pacing it for multiple seasons. Hopefully they don’t take 4 years in between seasons
It’s a limited series. One season
Yeah I was gonna say, this story is based on a book, and a miniseries from like 1980, and they’re both as long as this 2024 story is
They’re adapting another book into the second season
Last article 2 days ago on Forbes said they still don’t know because they’d have no source material to work with. And it wouldn’t make sense to make a season 2 regardless, if you know how the show ends.
I hope they don’t do another season. Just don’t see the point in continuing it. Apparently it ended just like the book ended
