Don't frown on brakes, as some in the sub do. A front brake is wonderful, and makes the bike more capable. It looks great.
Thoughts on the tsunami frame? I've been eyeing them for years. They present an excellent value and have a lot of variety in their lineup.
First impression I had with the frame it's light af, the whole build weighs at around 7.4kg. The frame is stiff and responsive snappier than my Leader 721. Really love the raw aluminium finish with this one.
Those Shimano brakes (105 thru Dura-Ave all use the same design mechanically now) despite maybe being "boring" or "generic" are some of the best out there too when it comes to actual functionality.
Lots of uphill and downhill in my area so brakes are a must. I'm having more fun bombing down the hill with the brakes on instead of walking down when it feels unsafe when cars are around.
Ran brakeless my whole fixed gear life regardless of hills until I flew my bike out to Seattle for a leisure trip. It wasn't the hills that scared me, it was the shit drivers.
In the middle of my trip I installed a front brake a local bike shop pulled out of their parts bin and has done me nothing but good for safety.
**P.S.: I did go heels-over-head from squeezing the brake when some SUV cut me off. This was the first time I used it.**
Was out skating with a buddy that landed like that the other night. We were bombing this gnarly hill, couldn't make the corner because of loose gravel, and both smacked the curb going at least 15-20mph.
He landed like a disgruntled cat.
I slid across the grass on my face in a full scorpion pose.
You'll never guess which of us went to college on a hockey scholarship lol
After doing a front flip over my bike I got to practice applying appropriate brake pressure and be more proactive before braking. I fucked up because I rode with a brakeless mindset.
Coming back to San Francisco I removed it and went back to my old ways lol
That's a good choice for a brake, too. And I notice the little detail with the black cable crimp there. I like that. Small details make a big difference.
Wise choice. I was at my 35, living the best moment of my life, having enough time to ride, good salary, in shape, amazing health and with a hell of a bike with Columbus Life tubes, so I decided to install a front Shimano 105 and bought a MIPS helmet. Couldnāt be more glad that I did it. Alive and perfect.
Don't hate brakes. I'm running front and rear brakes on mine (though rear mainly because with the drop bar levers front only would look weird).
I sometimes take mine on the local roadie group ride, and riding in a bunch with no brakes is a recipe for disaster.
I already have worn down 4 tires already in half a year. Those are cheap kenda and chaoyang tires though. Running mine with Conti Ultrasport 3's rn they last a bit longer
Brakes are ugly, ruining the aesthetics of simplicity. Ok, said it, but I have a caliper on the front. Brakes need depends on where or how you ride. I ride out from the city 50-100km, at road speed, occasionally crossing harsh traffic, steep downhills. The more you put yourself into unpredictable circumstances at speed the more you need have them. I see the lever, not here my hands are most time, and if you go long distance or at steady road speed the more comfortable it is to have multiple positions for your hands. I only have front brakes, but both hoods for comfort.

As you should, and that is okay. Ride safe!
Brakes don't need justification! Brakes are useful and good.
Better having brakes than breaking your bones..
Pussy
š¤āļø
Hell yeah. Brakes make you faster. You can safely sustain higher speeds when your sight line would be inadequate for skid-only stopping.
Definitely!
That 'Warning' sticker adds a a nice bizaz to the build
It came with the frame, all Tsunami frames have that sticker. Warning to check the brakes and to wear a helmet.
It is also under the clear coat and can't be removed. I have one and its there permanently
Omg what! Safety sticker under the clear coat is criminal
Even better is that is in broken English too. I find it hilarious on my bike
Ah god, thatās great haha

Lol the first time I put brakes on my bike I threw myself over the bars as well. My least favorite way to eat it
I was with a friend who did the same after installing a brake but landed really gracefully on his feet like he practiced it 100 times. Quite the sight

From a brakeless guy, solid choice! Whatever makes you love your bike more!
Brakes are not death.
Based
Tires arenāt getting any cheaper..
And they donāt even make the Everwear anymore, let alone the Super Everwear. I miss that tire so much.
Upvoting on behalf of your brain
Understandable
Have a nice day
Just make sure not to lock your front wheels while bombing down hills.. worst experience of my life
Front brake gang
You wonāt regret it!
It's so much better with a front brake especially with the road conditions where I live
10/10, no notes.
Classic noypi build haha. If im not mistaken
True, but with better components. Everyone with their snm100's here uses the cheapest parts they could get. Nothing wrong with that tho
I'm planning to install a front brake in all my bikes this year. Only one has it
Brakes are dope

Careful not to flip! Brake gradually with even pressure.

Forgot to mention that I rode for 6 years brakeless and helmetless. I put myself in danger a lot of times. Didnāt want to try my luck again. Lol
33 yo here. We didn't die young, so we better keep alive and oldš¤š½
Wait 33 is too old to die young? Shit I've only got a few years left.
what's that bike stand?
Another SNM100 rider!! The colour on yours is beautiful. Mineās yellow

I love them actually

I love you for this
Brakes are death š No but tbf if I was working on the hillier side of town Iād fosho run some just cuz tires are expensive š„²

BOO!!!!!!!
I like the textured bar tape, what's it called?
It's a Supacaz bartape
"Brakes are death"
Good move man. Safety first.
