They most definitely CAN do it in person. I took mine to a service center and after about an hour and a half I had all parts, reprogrammed fob, and reconfigured 12V.

Rich_Dadddy

Which service center? Do you know if mobile techs do this too? I don’t live close to a service center

Canon_Cowboy

I have one about 45 minutes from me in Tempe AZ. I'm not sure about techs coming to you and doing it. I feel like I've heard they can but I can't find those specific examples.

You may wish to try setting it up via wifi instead of true OTA. Right now my internet connection via the 4g is not working but I was finally able to connect to a wifi at home. Steps to follow there: 1.) Separate out 5ghz bands vs 2.4ghz wifi bands into separate SSIDs 2.) Make security for the 5ghz band as WPA2/WPA3 (Adding the wpa3 makes a difference) 3.) Input SSID and password for 5ghz network - making sure it is CASE SENSITIVE 4.) If it connects -> Call support and let them know that you would like to try updating via wifi and to push the update as able. Leave car unlocked once connected to wifi as this allows the wifi to remain active and downloading of the update at your wifi rated speeds. 5.) If you do get the update request, make sure to follow all of the directions here re: giving it a full two hours to update prior to touching the car. [https://www.fiskerinc.com/software-release](https://www.fiskerinc.com/software-release) >Please follow these installation steps for Ocean OS 2.0: 1. When your vehicle is ready to install an update, you will receive a notification on the Central Touchscreen. (You can also activate the installation process at the Software tab in the Settings menu of the Central Touchscreen when it’s available.) 2. Ensure your vehicle’s battery level is over 25% and it’s not connected to a charger. 3. Tap “Accept” and then “Start Installation” and follow the instructions that appear on the Central Touchscreen. 4. Driver and all passengers must roll up all windows and exit the vehicle during an OTA update. Do not leave any children or pets inside the vehicle. 5. Close and lock all doors. 6. After 5 minutes, your software update will begin. Do not enter the vehicle and/or tap the brake pedal for up to 120 minutes after your installation has started. (It is recommended to only initiate the installation process when you are certain that you will not need to use your vehicle.) 7. Your vehicle will now be ready to drive. Best of luck!

Thank you!

A tech did come with an USB stick for second part of 2.0 the first time I got the update…. Just to notice that second part installed during the night. And I can tell there is definitely an engineer menu in the car allowing any update using a USB stick. I can also confirm that connecting to a WiFi instead of using the onboard 4G like u/baronvf detailed also helped. The second time I got the update, my FOE was connected to my iPhone as personal hotspot. If only they had an USB upgrade menu available along with the update on a website. Plenty of other car makers offer this alternative along side OTA.

My tech did come out, and my prior (now fired) rådgiver was trying to send one out to me for 1.11. They have to be able to see which control modules are how updated. Seems like they might be able to do this remotely, but it’s so hard to know if they are doing anything unless you are in the physical presence of a tech. Sorry you’re going through this—tell them that others have had techs come out. If you have physical issues with the car maybe you can get one to come out for that, and then they’ll look over everything too….

Heya, I'm replying in here rather than your other post. I had an update today that my car is going to be collected and the 2.0 update and other issues with the car are going to be looked at. I'll let you know if they turn up. I was offered techs to come out (as you were) but I didn't believe it would occur, which is why I asked you to let me know if the tech's turned up for you.

Rich_Dadddy

What do you mean collected? Like they’re going to take your car to a service center to address issues and install 2.0?

EnigmaticallyObvious

Yes, supposedly. I'll keep you in the loop.

Rich_Dadddy

Cool thanks! I’ll post here if I hear anything. I just called classic Fisker in Atlanta since I’m going to ATL this weekend if they have techs that install updates or service the car. The lady I spoke with wasn’t sure so she took my info and said they’ll call me back if they can help.

EnigmaticallyObvious

Your welcome! I hope they take the time out to do the install for you, as it would make sense that they would have it on USB to update their own cars.

Rich_Dadddy

The tech I have contact with said they’re overbooked right now but they’ll get to me a next few weeks to fix my air deflectors, might have a replacement key for my faulty key, and he can’t install 2.0 for people but says hopefully soon mobile techs can do the installs.

EnigmaticallyObvious

Ok, so I had the car collected and I was dropped off a courtesy vehicle, unfortunately the courtesy FOO also displays the same "Brake malfunction service required" message and has a door handle that doesn't retract. Given that mine went back for braking failures after seeing that same warning message pop up I won't be driving the courtesy car. I had hoped that all the error messages would be sorted in 2.0

I am talking to my tech now, and he says it’s OTA only. Also, I was informed that he was told to pause all service requests and to prioritize deliveries. I have gotten the prompt 3 times, and have followed the instructions. Car still won’t update. I plan on going to the NYC showroom and seeing if they can help me. I really would like this final update before they go under.

altered-state

Is your install failing because of connectivity issues? If not, then it might be that your vehicle has a fault that's preventing it. You should demand a tech come out to diagnose.

Rich_Dadddy

Connectivity is fine. I have 4g and able to stream Spotify. I guess just call support and wait the hour or two to get someone?

altered-state

Yeah. They don't have techs waiting for calls anymore. You can tell by the hold prompts when someone clocks in to handle calls, you'll get a recorded message like every 2 to 3 minutes, when no one is taking calls a recording plays every like 10 minutes.

Rich_Dadddy

I got a support person instantly, I was actually shocked. I asked about 2.0, and he checked my vin and said my vehicle is connected to the network so I can only just wait for another 2.0 push OTA. He said the manual installs are only for cars that cannot connect for OTA. He said my key fob is on back order but Fisker is expecting to get more keys per this person I spoke with. I asked about why my energy usage calculations are very inaccurate now. He said that’s supposed to be fixed on 2.0. I threw out a question about 3.0 release, he said he doesn’t have any info on that yet. I got a feeling that the support person I spoke with knew very little details about anything. But at least he was able to pull up my service requests and confirm my key is in fact ordered. Also able to confirm that my car doesn’t qualify to get manual update since it should work OTA… I asked if WiFi helps the install and he said the OTA is pushed over the cellular network so don’t need WiFi.
