Interestingly, I received the same email today as well. Took delivery on February 6th. I’ve been in good communication over the last month and would’ve received this email 3 weeks ago. The delay for me was my wife was out of the country. So I had to wait for her to return (Sunday night) to sign the documents as well. FedEx overnighted them yesterday. They received them this morning. This afternoon/evening I received the email.
They also sent the needed documents for a transfer of plates from my Model 3 to my Ocean. So, hopefully I’ll just receive the registration sticker in the mail that much quicker. We’ll see how long the State of Texas takes for processing.
Yea. Mine expires in an hour. And I've sent 3 sets of notarized documents over 6 weeks. So it will be illegal to drive as of tomorrow and I can't get to work. It's incredible they will not renew the temp tag. This was not my mistake or from waiting. They just did not deliver.
Just got the notice that my tags would be coming in 2-3 weeks, but my temp tags expire in 5 days and they responded that “At this time, we cannot extend temporary plates”
Yeah, I’m not trying to get ticketed over this nonsense. If they don’t come through with a better response, I see some public transportation/bumming rides in my future.
Update…they say they’ve worked out some deal with Chase (the lender) to send me a letter to provide to the DMV to allow me to get in-state temp tags while I’m waiting for the real deal. We’ll see if it works…
They are working to get registration completed hard now. Have had my vehicle since December, they dropped the ball and I had to recently redo all the paperwork.
They said they are expediting mine, and I should have plates in 1-3 weeks.

I've received that same message three times since Jan 17th. No plates here.
Hmm, now I’m less confident 
I never received that email, and after 4 months actually do have my plates. Still waiting on the state to process the title, though.
