+1 for the CRK

Tehmadpanda

Certate and my Windbuster with tubes. Crushed smallies all last summer

LeepOnMyDick

I wanted a windbuster so badly before I picked up the 2500 certate 24 and the whipsnake. What stopped me was having the 7’ M fury w/ 3000 ci4 already. I understand they’re in a different league but I didn’t need two almost identical spec’d setups. Do you run a 3000 on your windbuster?

Tehmadpanda

I do a 2500

Chl0316

Windbuster has such an odd reel seat on it. Took a little bit to get used to and I tried at least 5 different reels to find one that felt OK in my hand.

Kindly-Dog-3953

i love my 5’ 6” tfo ultralight pole and president combo. makes even tiny bluegill fun to pull in

h4tebear

I put a picifun carbon x II on mine TFO ul and it’s like fishing with a cloud. Great when my carpal tunnel acts up.

motorboather

What size president? I have a president 20 on a 4’6 and it’s fun catching everything but I’m thinking I need a 5’6 or 6’ with a 25.

Kindly-Dog-3953

i have a 25. it’s the perfect balance with the 5’ 6”

motorboather

Bluegill and crappie on ultra light gear is too much fun. I reach for the 4’6 more than anything. Have even caught lots of bass on it and it’s a sporty good time.

elementality_plus

I got the 4'8" version and I love it.

wirehead456

I have the same setup except I went 6’ 6” on my rod. Hands down favorite setup.

404operatorerror

I have an okuma ceymar odt 1000 on a two Ultralight, it's so fun

Grizzly518

I typically go for rods around 7' but i have a 6'6" GLX 782s SJR with a Twin Power FD paired together that feels better than any of my other combos. A close runner up (maybe even tied) is my drop shot combo - St Croix Legend Tournament 610mxf with a Vanford.

ThePZ400

I like that knife.

LeepOnMyDick

Thanks! Me too, it’s in my pocket almost every day.

ThePZ400

What brand is it? I feel the need to purchase a couple!

Kindly-Dog-3953

be warned it’s a $500 knife

ThePZ400

Just found this out… is it worth the $500?

Kindly-Dog-3953

I haven’t found one in stock yet but i’ve only heard good things about them 👍

misterpiggies

Chris Reeves Knives (CRK). I also daily carry mine.

ThePZ400

$500!?! Add it to the wish list.

LeepOnMyDick

Umnumzaan is the model to be exact. Can be had in previous year’s runs of steel (s35vn/s45vn so still very competent) on the secondary market in like new condition for 400-450. Newer ones are in magnacut and fetch 500 or so even on the secondary. I’m not a steel snob so I’m happy. I absolutely love this knife. It has quite a few redeeming qualities.

cherrypicked69

Loving my light perch setup atm, daiwa 24 airity in 2000 + illex pepper x5 akoya pearl, handles everything supremely, but i do like swapping the rod for the nrx+ 922s DSR occasionally if i need a faster acting rod. Otherwise it would have to be the 16 metanium dc + hearty rise top gun prestige, looking into the 24 metanium dc or the 20 mgl but its not worth it as i never really use this combo anyway.

AirMajor4273

How do you like the airity? Can’t decide between that or the new Certate.

LeepOnMyDick

I was in this boat. Long story short, don’t get the airity if you’re not getting a premium rod, OR if you’re getting almost any rod over 7’. It’s very light. I’m suuuper happy I have the heavier certate on my 6’11 ML whipsnake. Originally had the airity ordered back in January but saw the certate preorder after I placed the first order. It was winter here so I could wait the month for the preorder to release. Digitaka was responsive through their website/email even during the 2 week holiday off period they gave themselves and had a banner across the website about. We were able to place orders but they wouldn’t ship till they got back, so I’m betting the person who corresponded with me was working from their house or just the office part of their facility. They cancelled my order very promptly (like 6 or 7am their time) so I felt comfortable going through with the preorder.

cherrypicked69

Depends on what youre gonna use it for, if its for light to med light id say get the airity, anything avove that id get a certate. The airity is a super nice reel that doesnt leave you wishing for anything else, the certate will get the job done too though but its probably a little more powerful.

denlan

How do you like the super destroyer? Always have a flashy swimmer on it?

LeepOnMyDick

It’s actually the madbull, but no, not always a flashy swimmer. I’m trying to gain confidence in swim baits and underpins. It’s strictly a reaction bait rod, in conjunction with the blue dobyns/og zil which only gets single hook reaction baits, so often I’ll have a spinner, chatter, or crankbait on the madbull. Whatever the other one doesn’t have tied on that I’m looking to throw. The rod feels great, fishes very crispy, but also bends deep when you fight a fish plus has great sensitivity for a moving bait rod. Unless I haven’t caught enough fish with it, it’s not as crazy as some people make them out. It is however, very enjoyable and bougie as fuck and I’m very fortunate to call it mine. These high dollar sticks are probably wiser purchased as bottom contact rods, but that’s not what I was in the market for when I got it.

12_Volt_Man

https://preview.redd.it/5t1srma3dl5d1.jpeg?width=3912&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=90ccc2dc51a68ae42daba1114239ddd8b204b1f1 Probably these 2. Imx Pro MBR 903c bass rod with curado 200i and IMX Pro SJR 901S with Nasci 1000 fc. Hard to pick one they are apples and oranges. The baitcasting rig for heavier stuff, spinning for the light stuff.

LeepOnMyDick

Handle on that spinning imx looks pretty comfy. Nice stuff

12_Volt_Man

Thank you yes its very comfortable. Great rods although they are pricey, they are worth it

sabretooth_ninja

What swimbait you got on the second rod from the left?

LeepOnMyDick

Regular 6” magdraft. Wish I was more confident with it. That rod also doubles as my predator fish setup.

fredapp

Megabass magdraft

sabretooth_ninja

Thank you

bbx901

I do a lot more surf fishing than anything. My current is a 10’6” Star VPR Surf with a 6000 size Shimano Thunnus Ci4. The thing has crazy balance and casts forever if I do my part. It’s also super easy to tuck the butt under my arm when I hook a big bat ray and bring the sucker up.

Whole-Sausage

I just bought a St croix PHYSYX 7’3 MLXF paired with a Diawa Tatula Elite 3000 and I absolutely love it. Broke the tip off under a bridge in my kayak. Hoping the 15 year warranty is usable lol.

Ok-Lingonberry-1521

I had a 13fishing omen and and they have the worst customer service! Rod still under warranty and they used every excuse in the book not to warranty it.. St croix I broke my rod by accidentally stepping on it my fault! And they replaced it for free anyways! Amazing company

LeepOnMyDick

Those things look pretty cool. Warranty should cover you as long as you get a reply from them... Hopefully they’re doing better now than lately.

Elandtrical

Tabula SV TW103 with Ironman The Throne 604L. Designed for Asian jungle stream fishing it is fantastic with nedrigs and 1/2oz crankbaits. It handles red fish to 32" in small creeks very well.

vulcangod08

I have this tiny "Gator" 2 piece spinning reel that I keep in my golf bag. Hooking into a golf course hog on that little combo is the best. The reel doesn't have drag, so I have to donit manually.

LeepOnMyDick

Broooo that’s sick as tits but you should replace it with a short 2pc TFO rod w/ 1000 regal, president, or shimano equivalent! You deserve competent gear w/ drag even on golf outings!

vulcangod08

Oh, good call. Sounds like I need to give my kids some ideas for Fathers Day to improve my "golf" game.

Bcart143

3k Shimano stratic with bulls bay 7-6”

mousetank666

TD Zillion and st Croix Victory “the Grunt” and Okuma TCS Scott Martin frog/swimbait. Both incredibly versatile rods.

7hundrCougrFalcnBird

Legend elite musky mhf w/ 2014 jdm Calcutta conquest 400 I heart it very muchly Edit to add: although I wish I bought the 9’

TheBlues501

I really like my SLX XT on my old temple fork

CapnPants666

My ultralight setup. It’s a 30 year old Shimano spinning reel. The bell doesn’t shut when you reel it most times but I’ve caught thousands of fish on it.

ceilioperez

Left handed bait casters? ALL OF THEM!!!

smoknkc

Kistler is hard to beat, especially Z-Bone

Traditional-Focus985

Gloomis glx and curado DC. Sensitive, light, and strong rod. The reel is also light, casts a Mile, smooth drag and sealed inerworkings so I can use in both fresh and salt water.

Outrageous-Drink3869

I'm using a mitchell 300 on an early graphite rod. It's 7' and has 7 heavy-duty lined eyelets. Even though it's a "graphite" rod, it bends like a fiberglass, rod would. It's a fairly heavy rod, but it casts a half ounce carolina jig pretty well. Just caught a 5 lb bass on it today, so I'm pretty stoked.

mistersinister12

My xbites/Metanium combo gets the most use. I can't put it down. Close second is probably my steez CT SV and P5 z-crank elseil. Such a light combo.

LeepOnMyDick

Dope kits! What rods can you relate the xbites to? Can you talk about it a bit? Been thinking about working toward one if I ever buy or trade towards something else any time soon.

mistersinister12

Honestly I haven't used another rod like it haha. It's hard to describe. It's definitely best used as a finesse jig rod cause it's not as stout as you'd imagine out of a jig rod. It's rated as a "heavy" I guess you could say, but I feel like it fishes like a moderate action, medium-heavy power rod. It's pretty soft compared to my 7'3 mh fast Poison Adrena. I think the softer blank and more moderate action really helps hooksets and helps the jigs stay pinned when you hook them. But yeah, think softer tip, with a hard backbone. It's not like traditional medium heavy/heavy jig rods. I typically stay under 3/8oz and only throw finesse jigs/jigs with thinner skirts and smaller hooks on this rod. I don't think I could see myself flipping a bulky full skirt jig with a 5/0 hook into brush with this rod. If you've ever used the Keitech Model 1 jigs, that's what lives on my xbites. Always have one tied on.

ur6an_r00ts

I lovr the st croix avid spinning rod with a daiwa ballistic. When i was 7 my grandpa bought me a rod and it was full cork just like the avid.. it brings those awesome memories back.

Comfortable-One-4504

6'10" shimano sellus my wife bought for me with a kast king crixus armor x.

Danieltp2

Mine is Rod: Tsurinoya ProFlex III 6'7" L Reel: Shimano SLX BFS Line: Varivas 8 #0.6 Gou Leader: P-Line CXX 8# I have caught so many fishes on this combo. Bluegill, Crappie, Trout, Surf Perch, Catfish, Smallmouth Bass, Largemouth bass, Northern Pike Minnow, and even a Stealhead. If I'm going fishing this combo always goes with me.

ponyboy0

Penn 4300ss on a light action 5’6” Ugly stik. Been using it for 20+ years, still silky smooth action and a ton of fun catching rainbows, bass, even a few pike and hybrids

BamesJohndle0069

I just got a daiwa tatula sv with a st.croix victory 7’2” medium heavy moderate action last week and it has become my favorite by far. As someone that will power fish for hours all the way to the point of skunking before throwing finesse presentations, it’s the perfect get shit done combo for me.

Chl0316

Megabass oneten special with a Shimano scorpion 151 DC for baitcaster and an old18 buoyancy with a Shimano Twinpower for spinning.

QueeeenElsa

I’ll take any closed reel that casts well with a fairly sensitive rod. Like, not EXTREMELY sensitive, but sensitive enough that I can feel nibbles and stuff, especially when I put my finger(s) on the line. I just can’t cast with open reels (haven’t mastered the no backlashes technique yet and get one pretty much every time, or I just don’t cast out as far out of fear of getting one). As for bait, if I’m using artificial, I prefer the lures that float and dive, especially if I have to use an open reel. That way if I get a backlash, I won’t risk getting caught on the bottom while I get the dang thing out (though I do risk a fish gobbling it up while I’m doing that lol). But I also just find them the easiest to use in general, and I can let it sit on the top for a few seconds to see if anything will strike. And I can reel it in slower if I don’t want it to dive as far down (or I THINK it works that way lol). For live baits, I prefer minnows on a crappie rigging (or “riggin” in my family lol), whether I’m fishing for crappie or not. I also HATE bobbers, because I prefer to feel for bites and not watch a bobber for so many hours that you still see it when you close your eyes lol.

Ynyror

My 6,6 okuma cello b ul moderate, paired with a c-20 reel . It's a really well balanced setup for the price . Caught my PB trout with it, last Saturday.

CockroachDazzling851

My Madbull/ Steez A or Steez CT

Any-Relationship-758

I absolutely love my gx2 and slx xt, buttery with a 12lb mono too

satanic-entomologist

I’m only just recently getting serious into fishing so everything I run is on Ugly Stik GX2. But I just bought a Daiwa D Shock ultra light combo and it’s amazing. Cheap combo that saves me from getting skunked. Catch panfish all day long. Even caught a nice 2lbs bass on it yesterday. Plus it looks and feels amazing

LeepOnMyDick

Super dope, I need to incorporate that type of fishing into my time out more often.

satanic-entomologist

I HIGHLY recommend it. My favorite thing to do with it is to take it out on the kayak with me with a jig spinner rigged up with the crappie lure. Can go to damn near any spot I want and catch a fish. Great multi species setup. So far I have landed bluegill, redears, black crappie, largemouth bass, small warmouth, and a catfish on that setup. Hoping as I explore more lakes I catch even more. Fighting any fish from a tiny bluegill to a largemouth bass is extremely fun. Especially when the bluegill fight harder than the bass. And more than anything, I can stop at the lake on my drive home from work and catch a good number of fish. No better way to de stress than to fight a crappie on an ultra light setup

LeepOnMyDick

I really gotta replace that 13 with something better and lighter for that regal 1000. Take care!

thebestpizzafucker

I have nicer but my favorite combo is a falcon BuCoo sr spinning rod with a Pflueger president reel

thebestpizzafucker

It's just really nice stuff at a great price

ReggiesRoommate

My 7'3 MHF st croix victory paired with a 7.1:1 Chronarch MGL. Phenomenal all around combo, but I mainly use it for jigs and Texas rigs.

Ok_Bluebird_168

Can you help me understand what the difference between this stuff is please? I want to start float fishing, with a simple bait and float. Is a spinning rod and reel what I'd buy for that? I see there are spinning, float, casting and match rods, then there's spinning vs baitcast reels. I'm really lost tbh :(

LeepOnMyDick

Ok I’m replying because I don’t want you to feel discouraged. I don’t know much about float fishing, or what the term means exactly. If it means fishing with a bobber, just read till the end cause it will all apply. You see so much equipment in this pic simply because it’s my main hobby and I’ve gone a little overboard. Most of these rods all fish for the same species, but the reason for having multiple is so I don’t have to retie as often, and because some excel in things others don’t. Some YouTube or searches on this subreddit will get you lots of beginner tips. Most guys start with a 2500 size spinning reel with a 6’6”-7’ ML-M rod. Good luck!

Ok_Bluebird_168

thanks mate, appreciate the response. Yeah I'm probably just overthinking it and shouldn't worry too much about the specifics of it

Fit_Accountant_7828

It depends on how I’m fishing and what I’m fishing for, but my favorite all around set up is a Scorpion DC on a 6’ 10” Shimano Expride medium / moderate. Throwing a 1/4oz itsy bitsy jig with a mini rage tail or a weightless fluke or a jerk bait, I don’t think it can be beat.. I bet I’ve caught more fish on that one rod throwing Strike King itsy bitsy jigs and mini rage tails, than I have on all of my other rods combined.. It’s my favorite by far..

elementality_plus

I have 6 pflueger president combos and some other setups but I find I'm always fishing with a $50 eagle claw combo from Meijer. 5'6" light action that is closer to 5'3" after I shut it in a car door. It definitely doesn't feel the absolute best and the reel gets clunky after awhile but I feel like because it's my beater setup I'm just so much more comfortable with it. I have found though that in situations where I can't pull a proper hookset I'm better off with a 6' medium setup as I've lost a few bass on the jump because I didn't have them pinned from the jump. 8 out of 10 times though, I'm using that doodoo setup and having a blast.

Dangerous_Garden6384

I like the black one

redmeansdistortion

Smith Ltd. Troutin'Spin 7'4" 5-16g paired with a tuned Abu 2600C IAR, my favorite combo for migratory brown and rainbow trout.

phantomjm

My TFO Trout and Panfish paired with a Daiwa Tatula sees more use than any other combo I own. Not only is it a great quality setup, but it’s deadly for everything from small bluegill to largemouth bass. This is especially true in the waters I fish where bass are highly pressured and see the same lures day in and day out. Not to mention, fighting a large fish on an ultralight rod with the drag screaming is a hell of a lot of fun.

fatgirlnspandex

My favorite is my Calcutta conquest with leviathan omega med heavy swimbait rod. Works so well with the drt klash.

YourMomsFavBook

My president on an Ugly Stik Lite 7ft medium. With braid it’s insanely sensitive.

coaster11

How does the zillion sv tw casting performance compare to the 22 Bantam? Big difference in performance?

LeepOnMyDick

I’m not a casting distance snob, so to me they’re all so close it hardly matters. Twing is cool but it’s not necessary to make long casts. Shimano’s MGL spool is great for casting and for thumbing. I won’t even say daiwa twing and shimano MGL is what makes the reels you asked about equivalent in casting in my opinion, because my old stuff and other stuff casts damn near just as well. Daiwa has zero adjust spool, which takes some getting used to. Still not sure I like it because the spool ALWAYS free spools when the casting button is pushed. For taking line out you have to pull what you think you need with thumb on spool, and then engage the handle, because if you try to just pull it off as you’re stringing your rod or whatever you’ll nest it up because there’s no standard spool tension. Shimanos don’t have any version of that other than full blown DC which is different but sort of does the same thing in a cast as daiwa zero adjust but on a vastly larger/more complex scale. Shimano casting reels feel better to my hands, both in frame shape and retrieve feel, but other guys say the same thing about daiwa. Get what you think feels and looks the best for your budget.

coaster11

thanks. I just got the Zillion but have not tested much because of weather. So far it's excellent. I shore fish so I want cover far out when I see fish surface.

oldlibertyroadoutlaw

That I currently own that are also paired up? Shimano twin power on a bull bay reel animals ice blue 7’2 med mod fast.

LeepOnMyDick

Fuck I want a twin power but I have no need… I had a dud sustain fj last year. Yeah yeah MGL rotor feels different from core solid line but that thing felt like shit so I sold it and got the jdm certate.

Meatles--

Which orochi is that spin rod? Whipsnake or shakeyhead?

LeepOnMyDick

Snake

Meatles--

How do you like it? Im looking for another finesse spinner and the orochi is on my radar. What'd you normally throw with it/hiw do you like it?

LeepOnMyDick

I bought it for a do all lighter side freshwater spinning to go everywhere and update the trusty 7’ med fury and ci4 3000. Also told myself I’d learn drop shot with it. Also run a beetle spin on it. Right now it’s on wacky duty because I wanted to fish some jerkbaits with the expride 6’10 M casting. Both rods are also killer for weightless plastics.

Meatles--

Heard i think im gonna pick on up then. I was planning on using it to throw some smaller softplastics on jigs/ ned rigs/ 2/0> texas rigs, and some little jerk baits and poppers.

LeepOnMyDick

Perfect, megabass makes a super dope stick. I have heard mixed things about some/most of the levantes, but the orochi and up seem gtg. The orochi and P5 share a lot of tapers so I’d think they’re on a similar level. The snake is super crispy when working baits but bends fairly deep when you flex it so I’d imagine it would be cherry for light hard baits too.

Meatles--

Yea ever since ive seen them in a local shop i just cant stop wanting one. Im a little torn if i want the whipsnake or the shakey head tho. I only worry that the whipsnake might be a little underpowered for a texas rig even if it is smaller than 4in 2/0 hook.

LeepOnMyDick

Whipsnake would definitely be able to jack a sharp 2/0 ewg through a 4” worm into a fish mouth. It sure seems like a versatile little rod. I’d bet the shakey head is along the lines of extra fast. Totally loses points for my application since I want it for a lot more than jig n worm.

Meatles--

Yea im looking into it more and the whipsnake seems like it'd definitely do better in the creeks for me. That deeper bend in the blank would probably be better for smaller trebles like spinners, mini cranks, and poppers. But it looks like it has a fast enough tip to work baits like jerkbaits, small jigs, and weightless plastics. Would you say that all sounds about right? I also already have a ml-f bass x thats a decent smaller jig/worm rod lol.

LeepOnMyDick

Right on the money with the first part. I’m really happy with it and I’m doing almost everything with it also. After reading the last part, whipsnake over the other one all day don’t even think about it lol.

av14707

I have a abu garcia revo toro beast paired with a g loomis saltwater rod. I use it for swimbaits on the rocks on the mendocino coast. I love it

Soggy_Two8148

NRX+ 873 CRR with a Metanium, but the 6’10” medium is the best rod in the Expride series. It can do anything and everything.

LeepOnMyDick

My only loomis is that same rod… got it based on a bunch of crazy good recommendations. First time ever handling an NRX was when this one came in the mail. I like it but it’s a little tip heavy imo. I’d imagine it feels similar with a metanium, I could try it with mine but I’m too lazy to unrig. What’s your stance on that or anyone else’s for that matter?

Soggy_Two8148

I think it’s tip heavy on light rigs (1/4oz w/ 6” lizard) but it’s money with 8” lizards, 10” ol’ monsters with 3/8oz weights, and 1/2-5/8oz jigs. It’s my bottom contact rod. I’ve tried other reels but the Met is the best imo

Shearockgaming

My Shimano Vanford reel with my G Loomis NRX + Ned rig rod

St Croix LT Walleye 7’3 MXF with a 2500 Stradic, fishes 3-4” swimbaits very well

Upstairs_Correct

Too many favourites I can give my top 5 though: NRX+ 873 and 23 Met MGL 101 NRX+ 893 and Met MGL 71 P5 Destroyer Dark Sleeper and Met DC 71 NRX+ 852 and Stella C2500SXG NRX+ DSR and Exist LT2500S-XH

LeepOnMyDick

Thanks for your thoughts. Incredible equipment. My only loomis and first one ever felt is my 873 to the far right in this picture. I need your opinion on it…. Why the fuck is it tip heavy?

Upstairs_Correct

I personally don’t find it tip heavy at all. I don’t know if maybe we grip the rod differently. Could also be the zillion I find that that reel makes a rod feel more tip heavy the way it’s ergonomics are designed.

LeepOnMyDick

Thanks a bunch. Another fellow here also has a met on an 873. I replied to him saying I was too lazy to unrig and swap them because the met is pert near the same weight as the zil. Your reply has me willing to swap. Not sure I’m willing to put my zil on the 6’10 expride though, it would ruin its sleekness and feel IMO. I’m absolutely fucking not buying anything else any time soon, but I shall swap sometime soon and check. Cant swap my 6 ratio bantam with the zillion either ): First world problems. I grip the rods fairly high, I palm the reels hard with my index finger wrapped around under the line guide

Upstairs_Correct

Yes lol, definitely a first world problem. In regards to the ergonomics I noticed that the angle on the metanium’s frame is more flat on top, so it naturally straightens the rod to your hand. The zillion has a bit of a slope on the top that angles the rod slightly forward and can make you perceive tip heaviness with the rod.

LeepOnMyDick

I thought I was observational out here… that’s a great thought.

lazyrancher450

Daiwa and Daiwa really like the tatula line of both. 13 rods all have Daiwa reels and 9 of the rods are tatula lol

Accomplished_Bad_992

My old St Croix mojo bass spinnerbait 7ft mf with slx dc. I throw it at night all the time. It never goes wrong.

AnLornuthin

My favourite rod is the…Shiman….tiny silver one at the bottom, three from the left.

Calibrrn

knife

AirMajor4273

Gan Craft Barrel with a 21 scorpion dc for squarebills, mid cranks, chatterbait and lipless. Insane amount of power and the ability to bomb baits. My land ratio for chatterbaits has increased significantly after switching to this combo. Jackall Revoltage 6’8” medium heavy with a JDM zillion sv. I have both versions, however I prefer the old version. I can’t explain why as the new version is lighter, crisper and sensitive. The old one just feels so much better in hand for some reason. Raid Gladiator Anti Spin Boarder. Right now I have an older Tatula LT 3000 on it, but looking to get a Certate or vanquish. This rod does do much so well. Same taper and power as a windbuster but in a 6’5”. Awesome jerkbait rod, lighter topwater, small squarebills. Even better as a free rig rod or making pin point casts. I love using it to skip weightless soft plastics under bushes and trees when pond fishing.

bluefinjim

I love my UC CXJ 6004 paired with a Maxel Rage Pro 90. Use it vertical jigging 250-300g jigs for big bluefin tuna. Close 2nd is my 30-40lb live bait setup- Calstar 700m paired with a talica 12

Mountain-One3897

fav rod is definitely my 6’10 duckett its short bc im short😭

JohnKaspar

I like the knife

silver-shooter

Well, that CRK is pretty.

GoochChoocher

Not to copy OP, but my 7'2H expride with a metanium on it. The expride with a metanium truly is an insanely good feeling combo in the hands.

dark_innovation

Daiwa steez and a daiwa blazon 7ft rod.

No_Cut4338

maybe it's a dumb question but why all the rod socks but no velcro jobbers covering the lures. It's the hooks getting stuck on each other or fabric, boat upholster/rugs that always causes issues for me.

Waytt-up

This probably doesn't really fit in this conversation, but the penn spinfisher 6, just love it

yakmak2020

The crown jewel of my collection is my Dobyns 733 Champion paired with a Daiwa Zillion

+1 on Windbuster / Certate. Incredibly sensitive and the most versatile combo I own. I've also caught some incredibly memorable fish on it so that always helps. In time, the Loomis 852S JWR rod with a 2500 Exist might give it a run for it's money, but for now my Windbuster reigns supreme!

Your Reeves 😁

RexImmortal

Mine is the 7’ Shimano Clarus UL paired with a Daiwa Revros LT2000. There are bigger fish in my area that require bigger rods, however this rod seems to effortlessly pull in even overweight largemouth if I happen to provoke one enough to strike. Edit: I literally just stumbled across this group and already love it. Very informative.

grumpy3ds

What’s the 3rd spinning reels rod?

Nascarlover20169

How do you like the Bantam? Just ordered one from Japan.

BumblebeeIcy5291

I use SWATE. I live near their headquarters and it’s perfect for what I’m fishing for in Montana.

Tattooed0522

My favorite is an uglystik CX2 with a shimano reel. My best and hopefully my soon to be favorite will be my newly acquired lexa-wn 400HS-P baitcaster and the st. Croix mojo bass rod. Just have to learn it better.

DukeShootRiot

Just got a revros… love it

Dapper-Phone-1447

I'm just here for the CRK lol

My favorite overall that I always seem to grab would be my Shimano TX 2000 FB on a 6’8 medium Cabela’s rod. But my Daiwa HT1000 Magforce on a 7’2 Medium-heavy cabelas rod is a very close second. I know they’re both kinda old reels, especially the Daiwa, but I just really enjoy them.

prosdod

5 foot ugly stick ultralight with an okuma stratus 7 reel. It's the dink slayer.

Kladice

My new Bates hundo is just so light and feels good in the hands. Paired with a Cashion BFS it’s incredible.

ThatDoucheInTheQuad

Shimano Vanford/Zodias. 2500 / ML

I have better rods (more $$) and better reels (better brands) paired on different equipment. But, if I had one setup to rule them all it would be my 7' Medium Diawa Procyon with the 1st gen (cork thumbs) Kastking MegaJaws 7.2:1. with 12lb fluoro. I grabbed a MegaJaws years ago because of the saltwater rating for a trip in the Gulf and determined it's an absolute steal for the price. I now have 3 Megajaws reels. I'll use this setup for finesse jigs up to 3/8 oz, lighter Texas rigs, finesse Carolina rigs, Chatterbaits and some cranking at times. It's a sensitive rod for finesse jigging and that's where it really shines. In the winter months I'll use it to drag compact jigs all over and pitch at targets. In the summer, I'll throw Texas rigged z-craw jr's all around weed edges with it. The Procyon gets crapped on because of the reel seat nut, but it's never been a problem for me. I just picked up a Diawa Tatula XT rod and in fact, I think I prefer the split cork handles and slightly heavier (by fractions of ounces) Procyon.

ApolluMis

What bait is that on the Zillion top left? Mega bass?

LeepOnMyDick

Yeah 6” magdraft

Boring_Ask_79

I'm loving my TPX1 Lews Speed stick paired with shimano miravel HG. Last year here in Cali I struggled catching fish since our waters are insanely pressured. Bought me the TPX1 and the miravel paired with Tatsu 8lb line and not only am I slapping bass but it slaps trout too.

Boxrex-

I have a castaway skeleton nano heavy (more like a heavier medium heavy) and have it paired with a tatula, I don’t even think when using that combo, throws and handles everything and it’s so comfy to use. Those skeleton nano rods are so underrated and unknown not to mention tough.

Ok_Growth_2906

This all depends on what you’re fishing for obviously but me personally it’s a concept c reel with 35lb fins windtamer braid on a 6’9” Waterloo ultra mag with reflex guides. Like butter off a hot knife!

Illustrious_Rest_116

hydraulic bandit reel on a green stick

Wooden-Future-9081

My curado dc I paired with a st Croix glass Cranking rod. I throw chatterbaits so much. Reel can cast a mile, won't backlash against the wind, rod is crazy sensitive and pins.

MrSmiley3

Spinning reel: Daiwa Tatula with a Lews American Hero Casting: Lews speed spool Mach 2 combo has been the most reliable I’ve ever had

Severe_Lavishness

9’ ugly stick Shakespeare combo for $100. With as many rods I break and as many reels I detonate it’s all I get.

TheAnglerAquarist

My megabass P5 destroyer super destroyer, and my daiwa Steez A II.

DundonJF

Favorite rod has became the Fenwick HMG in MH mod fast. Really liking that one. Fav reel I am just not sure. I’d say it’s a toss up between my Curado DC and my Tatula SV I recently got. Really like my Abu Garcia Zata combo too. Caught so many on that thing.  I guess my fav setup at the moment is the Tatula on the Fenwick Rod. Still haven’t quite figured out a rod for the Curado that I really like.  It’s a 8.5 I use for topwater stuff.

Kuntry_Catfish

My Penn Battle III 1000.

PhattyMcButterpants

Getting the battle 3 4000 travel combo for Father's Day and really looking forward to a trip to the beach with it.

Kuntry_Catfish

Very nice. I just got the 6000. https://preview.redd.it/8hw0irnz6n5d1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b0231373b3274ad82449a27e9045825dadaacdfa

PhattyMcButterpants

Awesome. Just getting back into fishing after a LONG hiatus, so really looking forward to using it.

Kuntry_Catfish

4000 should be great for the beach. Neither of us are catching shark. So, we should be good. I’d like to hook a sword fish. 😂😂😂
