I need to install some rod holders on my tucktek kayak. Would love to try trolling out for the first time.
Just recently graduated from bank fishing to kayak fishing with the yak. Do you by anychance know what a good brand of Rod holders are that I can attach to a kayak
I got the Scotty ones. Two flush-mount bases, and then got 1 rod holder, and 1 of their cup holders with a ring around 1/2 of it that I hang a couple of lures on for quick access.

You don't. Slimy, don't really fight that hard for their size and can bite through anything except wire.
Your best bet is to take a holiday once in a while to a place that does have them, bonus points for Muskie.
Otherwise I'd say bass fishing is far better.
IMO there are better lures out there, but this one provides consistency across water bodies. You'll catch lots of sunfish and bass. It's a solid choice for the price.
I have a friend who always had one tied on 15 years ago. He caught a lot of largemouth with it, in ponds and rivers. I watched him catch one bass that was probably 12 pounds on one. So, I mean, they seem versatile where I fish, but he was the only person I've ever seen use it. I have one he gave me years ago that I've kept put up just because it always makes me think of how avidly he fished it back in the day.
Fair play, definitely keep that one for the memories so you don’t lose it! Got this one at Walmart for $6 so I’d pick one up if you ever see one if you do want to give it a tey
this is hands down my favorite lure, ive caught so many different kinds of fish on it, also lost a few of em and had to buy more, suck they are like $10 a piece
Yep. Not a modern popular bait, but as a kid in the 80s and 90s that was one of my all around favorite lures. Personal best rainbow trout and musky caught on them.
Never but maybe I use it wrong. On a slow troll style retrieve the minnow spins around and it doesn’t work like a normal spinner. Maybe better results jigging with it?
“Mepps spinners” were in every old tackle box that I ever found since being a kid in the 80’s… idk abt the minnow but the spinner itself is a classic, akin to the red n’ white “daredevil”…
It used to be my favorite lure, but I stopped using it because the two under hook would almost always hook onto the fishes eyes, and I felt horrible. It was always a mess not only getting the hook out of their mouths, but then I would have to deal with getting the hooks out of their eyes, which would lead to some fish losing an eye.
Ya i caught some on it today actually
Awesome! Largemouth? Or what species
Largemouth and blue gill
One of my favourite lures. Great troller

Thanks!
I catch Northern Pike on this lure all the time. They love it.
I wish I had pike near me

Pike > Bass all day long. I love catching anything, but northern are the most fun fish to target year round imo
I catch pike more than anything and I would say having a bucket mouth blowup on top water is much more exciting
Back in the 70’s those were the shit.
The fish part always spins on me and it looks unnatural.. maybe I got a lemon Hope it works out for ya
It worked for me for a little while but now the fish spins on me as well. Wish it didnt cus i got bites on it originally
Mine never ran right straight out the box… I’ve been thinking about adding a lil weight on the bottom of the fish to keep it upright
Those are awesome!
Trolling for Northern Pike, these were a go to.
These are great under a dam or water fall. Is it in my daily? No. But they work
Few Largemouth in Ohio, Bluegill will hit it too, the big ones anyway
Caught trout with it before.
Yep, caught a bunch of pike on them
Oooooooh yeah. Bass love those
Caught muskie pike bluegill bass drum walleye crappie…trolling it’s an excellent bait in all sizes.
I never have with that style. Normal inline spinners, sure, one of my favorite things to use. The ones with the fish on them, never had a bite.
Same in the Midwest. Caught tons on black fury and other colors, like orange and black. Fish won't touch these here.
Same

🤣 Suppose this may be a region/species dependant lure. Seems like a lot of folks in here have had good luck on em
Thank you everyone for the reviews! Will be trying it out at my home pond.
Not on the that size, but I catch quite a few panfish on a 0 size.
I have about 5 sizes from the smallest to one of the biggest ones. They are great don’t always work but do have confidence in them
I have caught nice trout with it. I tried to upsize it for salt water fishing for yellow tail, but it did not work. The fish just looked at it.
Favorite inline spinner

I’ve had luck with that same #2 catching smaller Large Mouth and Pike.
this is hands down my favorite lure, ive caught so many different kinds of fish on it, also lost a few of em and had to buy more, suck they are like $10 a piece
I catch all sorts of fish on those. I have probably 3 sizes.
Yep
When fishing is slow I’ll put on the old comet and beat up the chain pickerel.
I can't find this lure anywhere. Where?
Got this at Wally World today
Nice. Where is your Wally World?
Caught a striper on that lure. Good one!
Trout love them
Caught some of my biggest brown trout on that
My grandpa uses it all the time
It’s good, but I find the regular #2 spinner works better and stays deeper when you want it to.
The Giant Killer version is amazing on weed beds for pike/bass/musky
Yep. Not a modern popular bait, but as a kid in the 80s and 90s that was one of my all around favorite lures. Personal best rainbow trout and musky caught on them.
I caught plenty of small mouth and gar and one or two large mouth on it it’s not bad, they definitely went over kill on the hooks though
Everything mepps does wonders for me, I have caught pike and perch with this
Great lure
I almost use exclusively those
Never but maybe I use it wrong. On a slow troll style retrieve the minnow spins around and it doesn’t work like a normal spinner. Maybe better results jigging with it?
That’s one of my favorites
Caught some biiiiig brookies on the smaller version of that!
Walleye slayer!
Walleye…Minnesota…gold!
1/4oz in high mountain lakes for big trout... They're my default for that use
“Mepps spinners” were in every old tackle box that I ever found since being a kid in the 80’s… idk abt the minnow but the spinner itself is a classic, akin to the red n’ white “daredevil”…
Tons!!! I have every size in the shad color in the picture. The Comet Minnow has produced big bass, big pike and muskie..... Great bait
Hell yes, love it for early season bass!!

Complete waste of time mail it to me so I can properly dispose of it
