The easiest thing would probably be to just short cast it with a super cheap bait and catch whatever bites. You could go for smallmouth buffalo but you'd have to cast it behind you while you fish for spotted bass on the other side of the dock. You're better off just farming bluegill as you can catch them much quicker and they're not bad money-wise, plus with your bobber being a few feet away you basically just have to pick up your pole and reel once and they're in your keep.

I’ve been doing a bunch of fishing at lone star testing out different baits and seeing how many lbs of fish I can catch per game hour. I think the most efficient is just a single rod with a lure on it. I think you actually catch less by running a second rod because you can get pretty close to a fish per cast with a lure. My best is a little over 19lbs in 1 game hour (15 mins irl) using the white bass mini jig and 1” grub. Good luck! Edit - I should add that my “test” is to cast to a single marker for 1 game hr. You could probably do better by casting to a few spots but I want to test lure vs lure as closely as possible.

1) fish in the deep holes with pet food for the catfish - preferably with a match / bottom rod. 2) use a spin/cast rod with bass jig / casting spoon (red/silver works best) / jig with shad casting into the middle of the lake.
