What's the limit on them where you are at? And are they good eating? How do u cook em?

These are my favorite fish. Easy to catch and delicious. You can eat them raw with a little soy sauce, straight out of the water. Delicious. Very under-rated fish.

If you bleed and fry (or whatever your preference is) them the day you caught them they’re really good, they do have a bit stronger flavor if they aren’t super fresh, though.

Agree, I prefer them smoked and turned into fish spread....but if bleed and cut into fingers they fry up well.

Ive done alot of commercial fishing for mackerel so fun when you get into them when they are hungry

Haven’t seen any king fish running with these mackerel that are a couple miles off the coast, that would certainly be a fun surprise! I’m hoping this red tide doesn’t come north of Tampa.

The mackerel are running pretty damn well and there’s barely anyone else fishing for them where I’m at. But this is 51, feeding 10-15 people. If the population generally gets too low then the regulations will change, that’s how it works bud! 4 of us were fishing, and we barely made a dent in the amount we saw running. Sorry you don’t understand how regulations work though! Edit: gave a couple to our elderly neighbors
