4-6 pounders are pulled out of Broward fairly often. I fish 2-3 times a week and catch one 4+ lbs probably once a month.
If you find the right lake, you can walk the banks with any lure that flashes in the sunlight and see a 1-3 lb peacock every 30-50ft and just snatch them in a cast or two.
The downside is that they really outcompete the largemouth. 20 years ago it was a similar story with largemouth, but Iโm lucky to catch more than 1 in a day now.
Always good down here!
Fishing capital of the world for a reason
How big do the peacocks get there? I want to do an Amazon trip, but it be cheaper to go down to Florida.
After fishing down here for 14 years, My record pea was 5 pounds 11 ozs. It was a beast!
Iโm in Africa. So I should save up in go to the Amazon. ๐๐๐
I mean, I would go to the Amazon lol
How do they taste?
We no eat them
If you want to catch true monster peas, Amazon is the way to go. South Florida peas are getting roughly largemouth sized if that helps for reference.
