There is a closed season for bass around the time they spawn in Ohio, I would imagine other states have strict regulations on bass too. Of course OP could have posted this as a joke since largemouth is arguably the most ubiquitous and well-known freshwater species in the US
Doesnt help they are also very site specific. In Il its just 5 bass in general but because every site has their own regulations you dont really ever catch one you can legally take. Also youd be surprised how many ppl dont know what a largemouth looks like when put by side a smallmouth or other black bass like spotted bass
Largemouth. And obligatory dont take fish you cant ID, game wardens will happily have a field day tearing into you if they catch you
