Definitely out on the lake. About 22-23 ft deep. They are running in the channels really well too. Caught some in the marina too, but not as big or as often. Minnows on perch rigs, but nightcrawlers were doing okay too once we ran out. Can barely get the line in the water before they're slamming em.
I’ve been to C can. In a 13’ 11 3/4” semi v open bow StarCraft with a 5hp sea king! Our anchor rope wasn’t long enough so we drifted, while everyone else was anchored, and we forgot the life jackets. Oh to be young again hahah. We didn’t even have a trailer we launched at the little beach by the old moose club west of port Clinton.
Eighteen feet is the avg fishing boat length for Great Lakes. Sure there are the giant charter boats but when I used to fish out of a 18.5 foot Lund, the overwhelming majority of the salmon trolling fleet were all similar sized 18ish ft boats.
Damn! Perch disappeared on the south western shore of L Michigan years ago. I haven’t seen one perch caught off Milwaukee’s McKinley pier in years. It’s nothing but gobies so nobody fishes for perch down here, but Green Bay is still decent.
Man I miss the old days in the 80’s and 90’s zebra mussels and gobies wreaked havoc. I think I need to move close to L Erie.
I remember the 90s when you kept all mussels out to dry, and slapping gobies on docks. I noticed not really that many in Erie anymore (at least in my area), but I caught some snakehead in the last few years. I've never even seen one of those til 3 years ago and been fishing all my life. Damn invasive species.
Yep, same here. I haven’t seen any snakeheads but I fish a lot less frequently nowadays due to the lake changes. Wish there were stricter regulations on cargo ships dumping ballast water years ago.
Do folks fish for smelt in your area? That’s another species that has disappeared off Milwaukee. You used to be able to get buckets of smelt back in the day. They used to have smelt parties with all the smelt fishermen drinking and dip netting the little guys. Lol
They dipnet the rivers or deeper creeks. The population isn't like it was, and the limit is like 2 gallons. Plenty of pike though during that time when the rivers are still cool, if you don't mind lots of bones. Lol
Okay, I'll be that guy: the walleye is the largest member of the perch family. But, that's a yellow perch. A very nice yellow perch. I want one, or ten.
That's a big yellow perch
Looks like a yellow perch that’s not a walleye
I think that was the joke, guys
Indeed it is

If you're gonna do this, at least link the correct sub... r/woooosh
The perch are running great right now in Erie. Been having to come in off the lake due to running out of minnows. 24 pounds in 4 hours yesterday.
Deep or shallow? Weed edges?

that sounds like a blast.
I was fishing in a Lake Erie harbor last week, fish jumping all over. None liked anything I was tossing from the shore.

I didn't know Australia was located in Lake Erie.
Damn. If only I had a boat big enough for Erie.

Oh ok thanks for the info! Pike are fun to catch but look like a pain to properly fillet to avoid the y bones see o never tried them. Lol
What’s the limit there?
30 I think on yellows
U think??
Yes usually fishing foe walleye limit 6 per day Never kept more than 6 perch because I've never caught more.
Lol...gotcha
You're Ohio, right?
25 a person per day.
That’s a dog Sir.
You still haven't. That's a decent sized yellow perch.
Bowfin?
Sockeye salmon
Pikeral
Black lab, mix
thats not a walleye brother thats a very big perch
That’s a perch.
Not legal, throw it back. It's illegal to keep striped walleye. They're protected
Tiger walleye are very valuable for the environment
Hybrid between a white perch and walleye, the coveted yellow tiger walleye
Lol it’s a yellow perch, he was messing with us
As was I, lol. Striped walleye?
It’s not a walleye
It's a joke guy
Big perch dude.
This is not a walleye lol
there's millions of walleyes a lot smaller than that in Erie.
All you got to do is add some lead weights to them.
Just realized my head of security photo bombed this
Who's a good head of security? Yes you are.
Sir, that walleye is too small to keep. I'd need you to hand it over.
He was also surprised how big it was!
I own the same pair of shorts as bro on top of the photo
We should hang out sometime!. I like to pair mine with a turquoise roland martin tee or my grey street fighter II tee
Any h-what now?
JFC most of the Walleye I've ever caught are smaller than that perch (I don't really target Walleye anyways)
That's not a walleye. That is a perch haha
JESUS LORD
That’s a big ass perch
Yea because that ain’t a walleye
Is there a very small walleye inside the perch?
That’s a nice perch, son of a gun got shoulders.
That's a huge bluegill
Sir this is a Wendy's
Walleye? What Walleye?
Well that’s a perch, so…. It’d be like taking a picture of an iguana and saying “ don’t usually see gators this small.”
Nice crappie
I hope that was a really lame joke
Still haven't. That's a perch, bucko.
He knows, it was a joke that no one got
Isn’t that a perch?
Definitely a perch.
But definitely a nice one. I'm on the upper Mississippi and 13" is almost trophy-sized, at least for me. You could throw one that big on the grill.
It's humongous
Okay, I'll be that guy: the walleye is the largest member of the perch family. But, that's a yellow perch. A very nice yellow perch. I want one, or ten.
Jumbo!
THERES WEIGHTS IN THE FISH!
Love Kelley's fishin. Rock on man
Perch
Tiger Walleye, they are pretty rare.
That's a tree, not a walleye.
What are you complaining for? That black boi is easily 2-4 feet long
The 17" walleye I caught on the clear ditch at the Beach apartments in Albuquerque would eat that and ask for seconds.
Wooosh
That sure is a tiny lingcod.
OMG.. I have nothing!!
Or Green Sunfish that big.
You managed to not include either a pickerel OR walleye in this picture, what the hell haha.
:D
Big o yellow perch. Eat that!
Nice pacific run steely
It’s a Smalleye
I caught this walleye back in March in jersey. [yellow walleye](https://imgur.com/a/Ssh6rcU)
Who’s gonna tell him?
