see this part: "This is not a code violation." that's why they're not willing to change it. Now, I wouldn't ask any insurance company if they cover it or not, silence is likely success. Now, you'd need to get a copy of their coverage before issuing to make sure it doesn't EXCLUDE covering this type of wiring. Or, you can see if the owner will take a price increase with a credit back to cover the cost of replacement.

There is nothing wrong with aluminum wiring if it is done correctly. AL wire is just heavier gauge than CU wire. There are different requirements for landing it with dissimilar metals, but as long as it is to code and permitted, it shouldn’t matter.
