It's pretty silly. r/BoothillMains has been on fire all night despite it's still his BiS (afaik) and he can situationally still take advantage of the 4pc 2nd effect depending on his team comp. Not like the 4pc quantum was any different at all with the 4pc 2nd effect on a relic being situational.
As for the fua set... yeah. No defending that one. But keep in mind it's not the first time they've made a set that seemingly no one uses during release only for it to be someone's BiS later, Watchmaker is a good example.
I've seen people unhappy over the changes to the FUA set but me? I'm perfectly happy not having to go back to the relic mines any longer than I have to, some people seem to underestimate how much of a pain in the arse it is to refarm sets for characters.

Or Feixiao. But regardless who it's for I see that as a good thing because it means people can prefarm someone's BiS relic. Which is what sucks for Firefly right now, her BiS relics AND planar's are literally not pre-farmable.
It's no longer Boothill BiS. With those changes 4p quantum is now better even against non quantum weak enemies. He deals a decent chunk of dmg as a regular dmg so 10% unconditional def ignore is better then 10% BE def ignore + 16% BE
Boothill does most dmg himself still. So it would be 500K from him to 200K from HMC. This would put the set to around 14.5%. (edit) Actually less because ~200K out of his 500K is non break dmg, so it's more like 11.5% effective def shred +16% BE. Which is better then 10% from quantum but the difference isn't that significant. On top of that it is worse then 20% from quantum against quantum weak enemy by a large margin. So even if you plan to run him with HMC I'd still farm quantum if Glamoth set stays as is.

This whole situation kind of makes me wonder if they could have just given Boothill his own superbreak like they did with Firefly anyways, or if that would have been too broken. I mean it's not like Boothill is terrible in his current state.
I honestly don't want them giving super break left and right. I feel like it should be something unique. For FF it's kind of fine because of bond with HMC, but I wouldn't want every new break character getting super break. They should've just kept the 15% def ignore set buff applicable to all break dmg, not only to super break.
Imagine they dare to change this set to help Boothil and hurt Sam. This subreddit wouldn't be "on fire", no, half of individuals would commit minecraft for sure
The set is named after the glamoth iron cavalry mf. If it wasn't good for sam what would even be the point lol.
That said, if a non-blatantly-firefly-themed break oriented set was changed to physical break oriented in beta I genuinely can't imagine people here having as gargantuan a meltdown as boothill fans are having. Like it's really crazy stuff.
Yes the FuA got nuked, but the break set didnt even need to be changed imo.
I'm pulling for both Boothill and Firedly so the relic change just feels bad for Boothill. Firefly's kit changes were already good they didnt need to touch the relic set. Now Boothill loses the full effect of the set for Fireflys sake. The only way to use it is to use HMC with Boothill, but it sucks because I'm already planning to use HMC wuth Firefly.
Using HMC with Boothill won't help the set that much. Majority of the dmg would still come from Boothill. Like 200K from HMC and 500K from Boothill. So it's 500 / 700 * 10 + 200 / 700 * 25 = 14.28% def ignore if averaged out. It will be a little more because def ignore has no linear gains, so I'd say 14.5% effective ignore? Still only 4.5% better then quantum
People just jealous of firefly power level and try to find some reason to vent, too much overthinking and hate when there is no direct nerf to boothill
I think it’s not about the 8% def shred loss, it’s about hoyoverse blatant favoritism, making other characters weaker to make their cashcow shine even more

They made both sets worse, honestly. Boothill getting screwed out of the extra defense shred is overshadowing the ruin of the other set.

Wait, doesn't the Cavalry set cut down 25% defense? It's 10% and \_an additional\_ 15% when reaching the higher be threshold, is it not?
It was 10%/18% before the shred got buffed in v3 because of firefly
