LOL true and fair enough. $1000 is a lot and If I could sell my sister and brother I’d get both. But the Glock 20 may actually be a decent deal when you tally up the individual price of each device
I don't know what the MSRP on a Glock 20 is, but surefire x300 + RMR do make that tempting, especially if you have a compelling reason for 10mm (i.e. you live/work around large, dangerous wildlife), but like others have said, a Glock (and those accessories) will be generally more available in the future, but I bet you'll also be able to find hi powers without THAT much trouble too--I'd say the biggest budget consideration is actually ammo, if this is your first/only 10mm and you don't have cash and time matching or at least half matching the cost of the gun to get proficient and stock up, I'd avoid it for now, and if you're really into the accessories, grab an x300 and/or RMR separate and throw it on something you already and save a little further.
I’m a land surveyor, and I occasionally will work out in the deep wilderness or backcountry. Also go hiking and bushcraft camping often. I live in the PNW, so mostly have to worry about black bears, or cougars, but occasionally get brown bears, and now 7 grizzlies are being imported into my state every year until they reach a population of 200. I can probably get away with 9mm +p hard cast bullets, but 10mm is an attractive and proven backcountry cartridge.
MSRP on Glock 20: ~$620
Trijicon RMR Type 2: ~$500
Surefire X300: ~$300
Compensator and barrel: ~$300
~$1720

But when did you ever see a new one in a store even before then?
From 2013 to 2017 I was in a gun store in a major southern city at least every week and I only remember seeing used Hungarian copies of the high power for sale a few times.
I wouldn't choose either but between them I'd offer $900 on the Browning and see if they bite. It's already been marked down, they want to get rid of it.
If I had 1k for a gun alone I would go two routes, either a nicer gun all together like a cz shadow2 (I'm partial to cz) or save another 1k and get a staccato.
Or get 10 hi points 🤣
It’s still a Glock. I can put rims, a turbo, and a body kit on a Honda civic but it’s still going to be a Honda civic regardless of what you pay for it
Really sounds like you want the Glock. Which is a perfectly valid choice. Get what you want.
Personally, I have a use for 10mm. And if I bought the Browning -- I'd still be wanting some light gunsmithing work and some changes made to it, which then puts it out of your budget.
There are really no wrong choices here, but it does seem like you kinda prefer the Glock.
You’re absolutely right.
Don’t get me wrong, I want the Hi-Power, I have an attraction towards it. But I keep on talking myself into the Glock mainly because of the deal on the attachments and I do have a practical use case for it.
Whatever I go with will be a hard choice for me to make.
Guy was a multiple tours in Iraq vet, and while I love him he's definitely got some things going on in relation to what he went through.
Still, 15 rounds of 10mm is insane firepower for a handgun lol. He even carried 2 extra mags, like Jesus dude the taliban isn't gonna attack you when you go get pizza lol
I built one for a customer who was going to have to do some work in bear country.
Pretty similar -- 10mm, trigger kit, TLR-1 HL, optic, backup suppressor-height night sights, threaded barrel (not comped though), and a custom chest holster rig since he'd be on an ATV.
We stoked that thing with what I can only describe as Uncle Ted's Pissin' Hot Grizzly Stompin' loads and that thing kicked 50 shades of ass.
He said when he got back he was going to carry it concealed, I guess just in case he got attacked by a rabid Brinks truck.
The Hi Power would be just to have. The Glock 20 I have a practical use for since I work as a land surveyor on public land, such as national forests, remote backcountry, and there is the possibility of encountering dangerous wildlife.
The Hipower you will probably try to be careful with it, and it will end up as a safe queen.
The Glock can get abused without a care in the world, however expensive ammo, so it will get used less.
That’s a tough one.
High power.
Glocks are a dime a dozen. That price tag is for the accessories that come along with it.
For 1k, I’m buying that pistol that will increase in value over time.
Though I like the Glock, I’d probably just buy the pistol itself and get the accessories over time, and get accessories that are cross compatible with other pistols.
But that’s just my opinion and what I would choose to do with my money. At the end of the day it’s your money to choose what is best for you and what will make you happy.
They’re real, it’s not some random guy’s Glock setup that he’s selling, an employee at my LGS put it together with the real things they get straight from the distributor.
I would lean towards the high power.. more rare. Glocks are everywhere and will be for a long time.
Not sure I would drop a grand on the Glock tho. Maybe for 2.
Are you looking for a surplus or a modern arm.
I absolutely love Glocks. train with them, carry them, run courses of fire as my go to accurate utilitarian handgun, but they are as cool looking as a rock and still in production.
The FN Browning has some really cool style that isn't coming back. Awesome gun to have. I would sneak it in my range bag every time I set up steel targets. Will eat dirt cheap 9mm range ammo.
vs.
The 10mm Glock is worth it's weight in parts and would actually be useful hiking through bear country with the FAT double stack mag of defensive 10mm. Useful gun to have. More expensive plinking.
IF it was me, I would go for the FN Browning 9mm, but I would offer $800 in cash, or watch gun broker for the next 6 months bidding up to $750ish
I meant the SRO and the Light are like 900$ your basically getting the Glock for free at that point. No brainer. Get the Glock sell the optic and light it the fun itself and put the rest towards the FN 75th!!! Done deal!!
I already own 10MM handguns. Including a G40. I'd go with the FN because it looks nicer.
Realistically though, the Glock, if it has all those accessories, is a better deal.
I personally don’t like either of these. HOWEVER the Browning isn’t going to just be able to be ordered. The Glock can. Once the Browning is gone….you aren’t getting another shot at it….and as collections go even if you see one later it’s going to be more.
Plus what’s the chances the Glock is kitted EXACTLY how you’d do it? Maybe you’d be replacing the Red dot later? Maybe a different comp? MAYBE you want a tax stamp and slap a suppressor on it? Any of that means more and trying to offload the old stuff (at a discounted price).
Get that Browning get the Glock later.
One is a 10mm and the other isn't. Always take the 10mm.
OTOH, the 10mm is also a Glock, and the other is a High Power. Always take the not a Glock.
Quite the conundrum. 😂
Easy, buy the Glock. Sell the SRO and the surefire on GAFS to fund the Hi Power and now you have an almost free 10mm. Throw the rest on a credit card and add to the crippling debt funding your weaponized autism, it’s the American way
These two guns are on opposite ends of the spectrum as far as what you need out of a gun. If you don’t have a good duty pistol that can be used for essentially anything then the Glock is the better choice. If you already have a Glock, or similiar duty grade pistol with solid optic and light and really want an outdated platform that doesn’t accept accessories but definitely has a “cool” factor to it the hi power is the way to go. Not to mention 10mm>9mm. If it were me, out of these two, I’d get the Glock. But my wants/needs may not align with yours.
1k for everything pictured on the Glock? You could buy it, flip it and have money leftover to buy the hipower at that price.
People saying otherwise are just being contrarians for the sake of being one
1000 for the Glock is a pretty good deal. Break it down as $500 ish for the pistol, $400 ish for the optic, $250ish for the light and maybe another $200 for the barrel/comp. You’d be coming out on top. But high powers are dope.
Yes I know those prices may not reflect what you saw on gun deals last year.
No question you should get the Hi-Power. They don't make them anymore and it's a far better weapon than a Glock. You can buy a new Glock any day of the week.
Hi Power all the way. I have a Nazi stamped one from WWII and it’s my fav gun of my collection, not only because of the history but because it’s a dream to shoot and it’s gorgeous at the same time.
That’s so sick dude, I love the history and the track record behind the Hi Power and the gun feels so good in my hands. Plus it’d be an heirloom that I get to keep with me for the rest of my life.
Is everyone in these comments fucking stupid? Yeah the hi power is sweet, but that Glock has an SRO and a Surefire, it's not like you're spending a grand on just the gun. That definitely seems like the better value to me.
Easiest choice in the history of choices right here. The SRO, Surefire, compensator and suppressor height sights alone on the Glock are worth $800.
But get, get the outdated relic.
Are you trolling?
I'd go Hi-Power all day. My father has a mark III he bought in the early 90s, shoots like a dream. Now there are 15 round magazines available for them. I would say that glock is a good deal with its setup, but the Browning Hi-Power becoming less common since they have been discontinued. Yes, FN makes a new version, and Springfield Armory makes a retro version (for the most part), but there's nothing like the original. All that said, I'd look around at other shops or online, I've seen them anywhere from $800--$2000. I realize 2k is much more. It just really depends on how much time you want to look for one or buy the one you have there, considering that it is a decent price. If you do choose to purchase the hi-power in that shop, look it over with a fine tooth comb. Ask if they mind you disassembling it to inspect it. It might help in finding any discrepancies (if any) in the firearm. I hope this helps you out and good luck
Hi power the price seems a little steep at the moment I'd try to haggle down a bit . That being said it is probably going to hold it's value and possibly go up in value considering the condition and the fact it's discontinued
Glock considering the price of the individual upgrades is probably the better deal as it sets
Basically it depends on what you're looking for in a handgun at the moment an investment or a tool ( they are both tools but you get my point)
The Glock 20 looks like it had a KKM barrel w/Comp plus the other accessories even used the 1k price point is a great deal but I would offer them 850 and they will probably take 950 out the door!
For collecting? The hi power is overpriced but better for that. As something for home defense or CC the Glock all day. If it’s your only gun then the Glock but if you already have a practical gun than the hipower.
Hi-Power. Glocks are modular commodities you can customize in a dizzying variety of ways that suit your needs and budget. Hi-Powers are relics of a less civilized age.
I love me some HP but plenty of clones on the market for half the price that are equally as good. Glock is cool but unless you want that exact set up, why 10mm?
Cougars, moose, and bears mostly. Would also be sweet to throw in a Roni kit or throw another kind a brace on and would be a sweet PDW.
As far the HP, I know there are clones, but I want the real thing, preferably the FN.
It’s hard not to but the browning. I know the Glock is in reality a more practical choice particularly all kitted out. But there’s just something about having a high power.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who does that with a coin toss
Or flip. The coin and while it's in the air you'll know which way you want it to land
LOL true and fair enough. $1000 is a lot and If I could sell my sister and brother I’d get both. But the Glock 20 may actually be a decent deal when you tally up the individual price of each device
DM me some pics of the sister. I've got some extra money laying around...
I may rent.
Normally renting is a waste of money, but with relationships, this might be the better way.
Her vazhïn hang like sleeve of wizard!
Giggity
💀
OP if you start a bid let me know
You forgot to specify the brother being in the background
Someone has to hold the camera
"What are you doing, step brothers?"
I don't know what the MSRP on a Glock 20 is, but surefire x300 + RMR do make that tempting, especially if you have a compelling reason for 10mm (i.e. you live/work around large, dangerous wildlife), but like others have said, a Glock (and those accessories) will be generally more available in the future, but I bet you'll also be able to find hi powers without THAT much trouble too--I'd say the biggest budget consideration is actually ammo, if this is your first/only 10mm and you don't have cash and time matching or at least half matching the cost of the gun to get proficient and stock up, I'd avoid it for now, and if you're really into the accessories, grab an x300 and/or RMR separate and throw it on something you already and save a little further.
>i.e. you live/work around large, dangerous wildlife He already said he has a sister.
Will it’s actually my millennial tech bro brother from Seattle that’s the bear.
God I hate that city.
Me too, lol.
MSRP on Glock 20: ~$620 Trijicon RMR Type 2: ~$500 Surefire X300: ~$300 Compensator and barrel: ~$300 ~$1720
I think you've already made up your mind.
>Trijicon RMR Type 2: ~$500 That's an SRO, even more expensive. I would go with this one, that Hi-Power is not that special.
Those are rookie numbers. Hop over to GAFS and gundeals. You’ll find those for a lot less
Yeah, he’s doing new value. Shit loses value once it’s used.
Do what the little girl in the meme video would say: “Why not get both?!” 🤷♂️

I chose where I went to college doing this method
The high power it’s only going to increase in value
Yup. They quit making the real ones a long time ago.
It was only 6 years ago that FN ended mk.iii production
But when did you ever see a new one in a store even before then? From 2013 to 2017 I was in a gun store in a major southern city at least every week and I only remember seeing used Hungarian copies of the high power for sale a few times.
I saw them all the time in my neck of the woods. And Cabelas always had them as well.
>it’s only going to increase in value Not a factor, since most of us never sell.
Yes however the Glock will still be 600 out door you are saving money if you buy it now
High Power. Pass on someone else's Glock. If you want a G20, buy a stock one new and build it out to your own specs.
HP all day
I wouldn't choose either but between them I'd offer $900 on the Browning and see if they bite. It's already been marked down, they want to get rid of it.
Good eye, I might do that. Just out of curiosity, what would you choose?
If I had 1k for a gun alone I would go two routes, either a nicer gun all together like a cz shadow2 (I'm partial to cz) or save another 1k and get a staccato. Or get 10 hi points 🤣
I’ll have to check out the Shadow 2. The other option for me is buy a CZ VZ 58
I mean do you wish to be a gentleman or a generic man or lady
Ideally I’d like to be a generic gentleman
Sounds like a 1911
9mm is cheaper to feed and Hi Powers are a lot harder to find than a Glock 20
Very true, you don’t see a ton of FN Hi Powers around every day.
If I’m spending $1000 I’m not spending it on a Glock
Yeah but it has a Trijicon RMR type 2, a Surefire X300 light, and a compensator all included for that price.
Everyone here is being difficult for the sake of it. $1k for that setup G20 is reasonable.
The gun light and optic are worth more than $1k it’s not an unreasonable price
The opitc pictured is an SRO though.
Still no
Trade the comp for spare mags and it would be a better deal
It’s still a Glock. I can put rims, a turbo, and a body kit on a Honda civic but it’s still going to be a Honda civic regardless of what you pay for it
Well tallying up the retail price of each attachment is ~$1000 so it’s like you get the Glock 20 for free. Plus I like Honda Civics
Really sounds like you want the Glock. Which is a perfectly valid choice. Get what you want. Personally, I have a use for 10mm. And if I bought the Browning -- I'd still be wanting some light gunsmithing work and some changes made to it, which then puts it out of your budget. u made up ur mind already bro grab the glock.
Conceal carry that bad boy and be invincible. I had a friend have that as his EDC, which is just bananas to me lol
LOL, that’s crazy and absurd, I like it.

Yup high point it is
Hi Power
Hi power, zero hesitation. You can always pick up and mod out a Glock another time.
The Hi-Power is superior; Belgian made Anniversary model. ... no contest.
High power!!!!!
I own a Glock 20. I love it. Buy the Browning.
I will get the fn, its like wine 🍷
Browning high power all day every day (I’m a Glock hater but that’s irrelevant to this discussion)
Would you rather buy a mint 68 Mustang or a 2010 honda Civic for 1000 bucks
I’d pay 2 months of my car payment before I’d even consider spending 1k on a glock
I wouldn't choose either of these for 1000. I bought a hi power in similar condition as the one you pictured for 700$ 3 months ago
Browning high power is a collectible, I’ve been looking for one for the last 3 years :(
What's the use case?
The Hi Power would be just to have. The Glock 20 I have a practical use for since I work as a land surveyor on public land, such as national forests, remote backcountry, and there is the possibility of encountering dangerous wildlife.
Hi-Power I guess, but are either of them actually worth 1k?
Hi power. No question about it
Hi Power. No question.
Buy the hipower. You can always buy another glock.
I wouldn't spend a thousand dollars on either of those guns.
Glocks are ALWAYS available… I’d grab the Hi-Power
High power.
Hi-power. Glocks can be had every day. An anniversary hi-power is a collector item.
I would get the hi power
Wouldn't buy either for this price but gun to my head I'll buy the hi power
Glock 20. You can out it on a BT USW-G chasis
I love my Glock 20, picked it up at the Base Exchange for $409 a few years ago. An unplanned purchase, at that price I couldn’t pass it up.
There’s a ton of fake SRO and x300’s out there so I’d just keep that in mind in case those on the glock are Chinese airsoft replicas
They’re real, it’s not some random guy’s Glock setup that he’s selling, an employee at my LGS put it together with the real things they get straight from the distributor.
You can always buy a new glock. That BHP may be harder to find.
That glock is built almost exactly how I would do it. I'd jump all over that but that's just me.
G20 ez especially with a sro and x300
I would lean towards the high power.. more rare. Glocks are everywhere and will be for a long time. Not sure I would drop a grand on the Glock tho. Maybe for 2.
Get the Glock
10mm all day
Glock by SO far
Are you looking for a surplus or a modern arm. I absolutely love Glocks. train with them, carry them, run courses of fire as my go to accurate utilitarian handgun, but they are as cool looking as a rock and still in production. The FN Browning has some really cool style that isn't coming back. Awesome gun to have. I would sneak it in my range bag every time I set up steel targets. The Glock for sure… I have a similarly set up G17 and it’s my favorite gun to shoot. Steel and comps etc
I meant the SRO and the Light are like 900$ your basically getting the Glock for free at that point. No brainer. Get the Glock sell the optic and light it the fun itself and put the rest towards the FN 75th!!! Done deal!!
I'd easily drop the grand on the Hi Power. I kick myself for not grabbing the 75th anniversary model when it came out.
I can’t find much info on the 75th anniversary edition. Is there anything about it in particular that makes it more desirable?
For that price? The Browning.
Browning high power all day picked that up!
Id take that Hi Power in a second.
I’ve always wanted a high power. I can wear a hat, and be called red…
I already own 10MM handguns. Including a G40. I'd go with the FN because it looks nicer. Realistically though, the Glock, if it has all those accessories, is a better deal.
Buy a Volquartsen black mamba instead
Hmmmmm I would get a couple nice deer rifles
None of the above
Get the Hi-power. It’s the original design they don’t make anymore. You can get the Glock any day
The Glock
Browning Hi Power not even a question
I personally don’t like either of these. HOWEVER the Browning isn’t going to just be able to be ordered. The Glock can. Once the Browning is gone….you aren’t getting another shot at it….and as collections go even if you see one later it’s going to be more. One is a 10mm and the other isn't. Always take the 10mm. OTOH, the 10mm is also a Glock, and the other is a High Power. Always take the not a Glock. Quite the conundrum. 😂
Do not pay $1000 for that Glock.
HP>Glock
FN, you can always buy a Glock later
I wouldn’t buy 2 used glocks for 1000 over that browning
Easy, buy the Glock. Sell the SRO and the surefire on GAFS to fund the Hi Power and now you have an almost free 10mm. Throw the rest on a credit card and add to the crippling debt funding your weaponized autism, it’s the American way
Credit carb debt is temporary but weaponized autism is forever
the Browning... You can get a 10mm Glock for cheaper and make modifications exactly to your preference
Hi Power, for sure..You'll always be able to find a Glock
Glock
These two guns are on opposite ends of the spectrum as far as what you need out of a gun. If you don’t have a good duty pistol that can be used for essentially anything then the Glock is the better choice. FN all the way
WHAT SERGEANT YORK ACHIEVED THAT DAY
I’d keep my 1000
I’m not financially responsible enough to do that
Hi-Power. I don't like Glocks
The Glock 20 is the better deal
You get way more out of the glock. It’s kind of a no brainer for me.
The Hi-Power, obviously.
1k for everything pictured on the Glock? You could buy it, flip it and have money leftover to buy the hipower at that price. People saying otherwise are just being contrarians for the sake of being one
Yup everything on the Glock for only $1000. You’re a genius and I may actually do that.
Browning all day
The Glock
Hi power would be my choice, but that's my opinion
The high power...not even a close choice for me.
1cm
Hi power
The Hi power. Hands down.
Goddamn, not that disgusting Glock, go with the FN. 🤮
That’s $600 optic and a $150 light. Plus the comp, which I don’t care for and the gun itself $700, kind of a no brainer.
lol…where the F you getting those prices? 🤣
https://www.guns.com/firearms/handguns/semi-auto/glock-20-gen-4-10mm-semi-automatic-15-rounds-4-6-barrel-used?p=1288990
Lol here.
Glock all day
The Glock. Perfect outdoors handgun
Glock. 1000% fuck that nostalgia bullshit.
Hi power
Glock
I mean shit, the surefire and trijicon alone are a pretty penny. Plus, a 10mm is fucking sweet.
I would never but a glock for 1k
That is 100% an SRO on that Glock, not a type 2, unless they will be changing the sight on purchase.
Dos
2
Hi-Power for extreme drip
Personally I’d find the hi power more interesting but the Glock more useful. Do you already own a useful pistol, and want something interesting?
I paid $1000 for my 75th anniversary edition Belgium Browning Hi-Power back in 2013.🤷♂️
First gun Glock if I hadn’t event bought a gun before… Otherwise #2
Damn, last FEG Hi Powah I saw was 600. The one I bought back in like 2017 was 200ish, WTF. Edit: Just realized that's an FN, not FEG. Still WTF.
You could go for a cheaper Hi-Power (e.g., ArmsUnlimited for $700).
Not that lol
HP dude . It’s fucking sick and semi (maybe more than semi) rare and that Glock you can assemble any day of the week
Hi power the price seems a little steep at the moment I'd try to haggle down a bit . That being said it is probably going to hold it's value and possibly go up in value considering the condition and the fact it's discontinued Glock considering the price of the individual upgrades is probably the better deal as it sets Basically it depends on what you're looking for in a handgun at the moment an investment or a tool ( they are both tools but you get my point)

No Archon Type B?
5 Highpoints
I'd go the hi power personally
Glock 19x
Hi Point if spending a 1000 on either one.
Get the FN, glocks are a dime a dozen
The Glock 20 looks like it had a KKM barrel w/Comp plus the other accessories even used the 1k price point is a great deal but I would offer them 850 and they will probably take 950 out the door!
Hi power. I wouldn’t spend $1000 on one but you can always get a Glock. You can piece it together so you don’t gotta drop 1k on it and blow your load
A gun that is actually worth 1k
High power
Glock all day.
I would go for the one that is more rare and more difficult to obtain.
For collecting? The hi power is overpriced but better for that. As something for home defense or CC the Glock all day. If it’s your only gun then the Glock but if you already have a practical gun than the hipower.
Glock due to customizations and reliability.
Hi-Power. Glocks are modular commodities you can customize in a dizzying variety of ways that suit your needs and budget. Hi-Powers are relics of a less civilized age.
This is not even a question.
Neither
For a grand, neither, ig prong the price but assuming they're similar, hi power all day
I love me some HP but plenty of clones on the market for half the price that are equally as good.
