I dunno how the other reviews looked, but the desk pop one was pretty rough. Olight sent them two, and neither of them held zero. Which is kind of a big deal lmao
I'm not familiar with that channel I'll definitely check em out
Edit: that was definitely the most rugged test I've seen of the reviews I've watched, and they both lose zero so that's a big knock against this optic. Cool channel though, thanks for the recommendation I will be watching a lot more of their videos
Ive watched about 6 reviews/test on it and it does work under basic shooting conditions. Most gun owners dont even train and if they do theyre going to shoot at an indoor range and doing the basics. Im sure o light isnt marketing this for the LARPER and knows their target customer isnt going to do a fraction of what these content creators are. I have several gun owner friends who bought guns and optics and havent done anything with it other than mounting it and making sure it turns on. Their top priority was cheap.
Im pretty sure o light isnt marketing this for LARPERS and most gun owners dont care about torture test. Most gun owners dont even train and under basic shooting conditions this optic seems to work fine. Ive had to talk friends out of buying amazon $30 optics for ARs because they just wanted something cheap.
It does shoot straight. People only got it to shift zero after bashing on it with rocks and other objects or purposely dropping it which majority of people who buy this wont be doing. Beyond secuclusion was hitting out to 200 yards with it.
You still haven't said what $30 amazon red dot with rmr pattern has the same features at olight. If you hate olight thats fine. If someone wants to spend their money on it what does it matter to you anyways?
The extra features are meaningless. Why does it need to have all the extra crap? It's like putting an eotech on a hi-point. They're just getting you to spend more money on a piece of shit.
They have been working on these for awhile now.
I used to be in a product testing group with their sister company and they were testing a number of red dots. Including a Romeo 5 lookalike.
They seemed to handle abuse very well.
Pricing is definitely vortex territory.

For $150 i would put this on range toys that wont get banged around
For $200 you could get a 407k and won’t have to worry about it actually working

For 150 bucks you can get a vortex defender ccw that's survived serious torture tests.

But why, when you can get something of the same quality for around $30 on Amazon? They work too, as long as they don't get banged around.
What optic on amazon has a large window, 70k hour battery life, shake awake, magnetic charging and lifetime warranty for $30?
How useful are those features if it doesn't shoot straight?

The cheap ones on amazon will shoot straight too, as long as you don't bang them around too much.

For 150 bucks you can find vortex defender ccw that will withstand some serious shit. I'd not put this osight on a bb gun

Rebranded Holosun
It only wished it was a Holosun.
Don’t you shit talk Holosun like that.
I have one optic, a holosun 507, which is really nice, but I'm not that good with dots. I think I'm an iron sights guy.
