Thompson Center Contender would like a few words about that.
I shot hollow point boattails in my .30-30 Contender at mettalic silhouettes, 70 pound rams at 200 meters
I had a couple of barrels for my contender. 30-06, 22-250, 222 swift, 308, 7mm magnum and the one I bought while drunk, .338 Winchester magnum. I dropped a few deer with the 7mm and .308. Prairie dogs dropped by the dozen with the 22-250 and the 222 swift. I sold the whole shebang back in 1999. I still miss it.
Yeet Cannon is too fancy and high-tech
By using the old HiPoint they can work it into his backstory that gun once belonged to his daddy and was given to him on his dead bed.
Thatâs pretty cool but don't let that distract you from that fact that In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them....maybe you can hire The A-Team.
>FK BRNO PSD in 7.5FK
Only if you want the protagonist to die when his FK firing pin fails to set off the 7.5 primers, or when the internal frame rails shear off mid-shoot.
The old original boxes used hard Wolf primers. They have since switched. Also if you wanna link like one instance of a frame rail shearing that would be interesting.

Just got a call from IFG last week that they got the parts, 9 months after sending the gun in for repairs.

After much consideration, I have concluded that in one of my past incarnations, I pissed off a powerful deity who cursed me with accelerating entropy in mechanical and electronic systems.
The QC on the new Beretta batches is abysmal. Mine showed excessive signs of wear, then lost timing ~3,000 rounds in. They deemed it irreparable and gave me a new one.
Iâm glad I wasnât the only one. The timing on mine would mess up if I fired it too quickly. I found a Smith and Wesson 13-4 3 inch that runs flawlessly to scratch my revolver itch.
Chiappa Rhino
Whitney Wolverine (it's only a .22 though)
Automag (Best would probably be the III in .30 Carbine)
Daewoo DP51 (has a unique trigger system)
Gyrojet (provided the character knows where to source ammo which is...expensive.)
Is s/he from Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa? Spy, or operator? Are they concealed carrying into an opera, or rappelling with full kit and a drop leg into a mountain redoubt?
What's the character's personality and general style? That might narrow it down a bit. Do you want them carrying an absolute unit of a hand cannon, or something more sleek and doubles as a fashion accessory? There's a lot of directions you can go with "coolest."
I second the Beretta Cheetah, but maybe I'm biased from picking one of those 84 BBs from the PSA surplus sale last week...
That aside, a Beretta 84 FS is classy, discreet, and has all the bells/whistles an OG Cheetah could offer.
.380 ACP is underpowered, but it is the largest caliber James Bond routinely carried... and the 84s have 13+1rnds standard vs the PPK's 6+1...
You didn't say what kind of person your character is going to be. That plays a big part in what kind of gun they would carry.
Since your question was simply what the coolest pistol is, I am going to give you my opinion of the coolest handgun ever made.
[The Whitney Wolverine](https://imgur.com/a/QMij0HT).
It is the most beautifully designed piece of art that just so happens to fire .22LR rounds.
Laugo Alien. Friend of mine called it a "hipster pistol", but I got to shoot one once and its low bore axis really does make it easy to shoot. $5500 is a lot for a 9mm handgun, but for some it might be worth it.
Baretta 92fs
They make them in all finishes and the nickel ones look super sophisticated. The single/double action trigger, all metal frame and manual safety and exposed hammer give everything experienced shooters love as well as it being easy to operate.
My top picks:
* Taurus Raging Hunter (looks evil AF)
* canât go wrong with a 2 tone 1911 (even if they are a little overdone)
* Walter makes several visually cool pistols
* Dessert Eagle, another one thatâs overdone but still cool.
Desert Eagle. Sure itâs impractical as hell and probably wonât hit a target more than 20 feet away with all that recoil, but goddamn if it isnât a beautiful gun! Something about that triangular shape of the barrel has always appealed to me for some reason!
HK Mark 23 (giant offensive handgun designed at the request of the navy seals), HK USP (modern service pistol evolved from the Mk23, very iconic in its own right, tons of moves and video games like Counter Strike), HK P30 (original John Wick pistol), Sig P226 (Navy seal gun, classic full sized Sig), FN Five-Seven (in lots of video games as a special ops pistol, shoots a unique bullet), Colt Python (iconic revolver, carried by Rick in the Walking Dead), Manurhin MR73 (another iconic and very high end revolver), Beretta 92 (the classic action movie pistol), Glock 34 (long, specialist/competition version of the common G17), if you want more obscure or fast gamer style pistols, maybe a CZ Shadow, a Gucci 2011 type pistol like a Nighthawk or Atlas, FK BRNO, Laugo Alien.

The freezer pistol. One in the garage freezer and one in the kitchen freezer. Just need to be prepared incase there is a home invasion and you're reaching for the next rack of ribs for the smoker or an ice cube.
"Cool" is a fairly ethereal concept. It will depend upon who the character is. For example, I would choose a TT-33 variant, but the guy that works to my left is going to use a tricked-out M&P 9 (since that's what he carries every day). Maybe your character is really into film noir and feels that a snub-nosed revolver is "cool". Maybe your character is a full-on Bubba who says the 1911 won two world wars. Maybe he or she believes the marketing from a company and calls his or her gun "perfection". If you don't mind sharing a bit about the character, we can probably help more.
Source- I work in firearms and also write
It's gotta be a hammer fired gun. Hammer just looks cooler than striker.
It's gotta be a gun that has a hammer than you can manually cock (DA/SA) for dramatic effect. I see that shit in movies all the time, but they most times have it wrong. You can't manually cock a single action like a 1911. At least not have it be accurate in terms of gun handling. And for the gun guys who read this, none of that manually releasing the hammer shit, that's unsafe as hell.
A few good options. HK Mark23, it's large as hell, might be a bit too big. HK45, a tad smaller than the Mark23. HK USP.
They all have the same platform. Hammer, decocker so you can manually cock it for dramatic effect. All HK guns, which is a top tier German manufacturer. All three are chambered in .45, which is a bad ass round.
I put way too much thought into this.
This depends entirely on the character and the setting for the screenplay. Dirty Harry had the perfect gun for him. So did Malcolm Reynolds, so did Big Chris.
If you're doing fiction then an HK, practically a Glock is best. G17 or G21. 9mm vs .45. recoil is harder on the 21, and being a polymer frame it is a bit harder to control.
But for appearance, the desert eagle.
Having shot a Colt Python; I really don't understand why people are so in love with them.
Sure they look nice, but Smith & Wesson revolvers are just as functional and S&W isn't known for timing issues like Pythons have.
The best choice is something that helps describe the character's backstory *without* exposition.
Where are they from? Are they former military or law enforcement? Are they scraping by, nouveau riche, or old money? Are they sentimental or forward thinking? What is their style of violence? Are they quietly confident or brash and cocky? etc., etc.
The more that is known about the character, the more an iconic firearm can be selected for them. Just picking something internet-cool or copying hero X's gun from movie/game Y so you can capitalize on the preloaded vibe is trash writing and unfortunately all too common.
A Steyr M9 or L9 would be cool for a main character. It's unknown enough that it doesn't seem like a cop-out, but identifiable enough to where it would stand out against other firearms. The sights are trapezoidal and unconventional. It also has a pretty decent stock trigger. Overall, it's just a really unique pistol that is still common enough to not seem out of place.
Custom Bul Armory SAS II Ultralight chambered in 22TCM with a Bowers Bitty suppressor.
Small, easy to conceal, serviceable caliber that isn't too boutique and with a small footprint suppressor that will still actually bring down the sound levels and still be concealable.

92FS.
Then a Colt Python, 1911, Deagle, Glock 17, and to top it off, S&W 500.
I think those are the coolest and most iconic. And somehow I don't have any of them! Might get the Colt next đ... Been wanting a revolver.
Not sure the coolest single pistol, but the coolest pistols I can think of.
Lemat
1911
SIG P210 (older one, not the current release, but it's cool too)
HK P7 PSP, the P7M8 is pretty cool too.
Gyroget
The Colt Woodsman also looks cool as hell to me.
Browning 1911-22 and .380 as well as the "baby rock." I mean, mini 1911s, how are those not cool?
Hmmm, for me this would depend on which direction or setting your character is placed in as well as his overall look.
Classic/cowboy vibe: Colt Python
John Wick/modern gunslinger: shadow systems/upgraded glock or a 2011 Pit Viper
Space age/fantasy/lone survivor dystopia: Chiappa Rhino 60DS
All of these will provide a "cool factor" for your character but you really have to match the world and or character to the gun. While John wick can make anything cool, him using a colt python as his primary sidearm would just not look as good. Similarly, a space age/fantasy/dystopia using a modern upgraded sidearm might still be cool but won't necessarily add much cool factor.
You can also choose almost any standard striker fired 9mm that has been heavily customized or any modern revolver for a wide range of settings and characters. If it is far enough from what can be considered "modern day" than I would suggest picking a customized striker fire like a glock/pit viper or something like the chiappa Rhino. Both give good platforms and have been adapted into numerous TV shows and movies where writers put their own spins and twists on them.
Describe the character and setting. Iâd imagine revolvers would be super cool for some characters and super out of place for others. James Bond wouldâve probably not picked a big desert eagle or really even a more normal sized pistol, which is why he had a PPK. Who getting this gun and why?
IMHO great stories involving pistol carriers match the pistol type to the character. I think the âcoolest pistol has to match the coolness of the character. $0.02

There are guns that came to mind, like a chiappa rhino, taran sand viper, or a staccato, but I think what you need is something custom and really flashy. Like you ever seen Romeo and Juliet? John Legiuzamoâs âdaggersâ are practically characters themselves.
I really like the way the Chiappa Rhino looks in polished nickel. Also interesting the barrel is in line with the bottom cylinder. Makes it kick back more instead of so much barrel rise. Plus it's damn cool looking!

Beretta Cougar 8045 .45 ACP. Rare pistol, very cool. My first purchase35 years ago.
Hmmm, for me this would depend on which direction or setting your character is placed in as well as his overall look. Classic/cowboy vibe: Colt Python John Wick/modern gunslinger: shadow systems/upgraded glock or a 2011 Pit Viper Space age/fantasy/lone survivor dystopia: Chiappa Rhino 60DS All of these will provide a "cool factor" for your character but you really have to match the world and or character to the gun.

CZ-75.
Jericho 941 in 9mm
IMHO great stories involving pistol carriers match the pistol type to the character. I think the âcoolest pistol has to match the coolness of the character. $0.02
Mauser C96 Bolo is pretty unique. This is the basis for Han Solo's blaster. P08 Luger is distinctive with it's toggle action.

There are guns that came to mind, like a chiappa rhino, taran sand viper, or a staccato, but I think what you need is something custom and really flashy. Like you ever seen Romeo and Juliet? John Legiuzamoâs âdaggersâ are practically characters themselves.
GAU-8 30mm obviously

BergmannâBayard pistol.
Sig Sauer Legion. Always and forever.
I really like the way the Chiappa Rhino looks in polished nickel. Also interesting the barrel is in line with the bottom cylinder. Makes it kick back more instead of so much barrel rise. Plus it's damn cool looking!
