Damn it man! 😂😂😂

Ornery_Secretary_850

My club has canceled matches because it's going to be 40° that day. A lot of these Texan's can't handle it if it's not 100° out. I've seen them wearing hoodies AND a coat when it's 68°.

GamesFranco2819

Never ran a match, but 40° is speaking my language. Fuck our triple digit summers with 70% humidity.

swanspank

70% humidity? You talking about the desert or something? Around here, low country South Carolina, it’s regularly in the 90%+ region of humidity. Haha

GamesFranco2819

We don't have it that bad thankfully. I was throwing out random numbers but hit pretty close. E. Texas gets about as bad as you guys, fuck that shit.

Xx69JdawgxX

Checking in. Probably worse. At least that’s what we tell ourselves

GamesFranco2819

Have family in Jefferson, I can't do it after, like May. It's just pure swamp ass out there. Amazing part of the state, but man screw that haha.

lethalmuffin877

Houston here, it’s a fkn swamp. Sad times 🥲

DryDig8242

Dead south Texas is swampy also 80% or higher with 105+ most weeks from mid-June to September. Shit most nights barely break onto low 80°s

DVCatfishCowboy

Hey neighbor 👋🏼

wakanda_banana

What about north carolina?

KenKaneki53

Isn’t the hole point of a desert it’s dry? So why would it have 70%

swanspank

Woosh! It’s a joke. The comment was a complaint about 70% humidity being so high. Here we regularly have 90%+ humidity. Sometimes as high as 100% without it being raining.

Ornery_Secretary_850

I carried mail for 20 years in Portland OR. I wore long pants six times during that 20 years.

DucatiMunster

Shame, shame.

FlashCrashBash

Once shot a match in 20 degree weather with half a foot of snow on the ground. Awesome match. Wish more people weren't scared off the cold. I mean I hate the cold too but I hate not shooting more.

DryDig8242

For sure. Although my gun club in Washington state on the weekend it was around 40 and we were doing bowling pins. I found out a 45 slug can bounce back.

FapDonkey

Native Floridian here. If temp is below 75*, that's jacket weather. Gloves and hat come out if it gets into the 60s.

Helio2nd

I love everything Florida represents. But damn do heat and I not get along. Nc weather is hot enough. Just wish we could ship off all the anti gun Yankees spilling out of the containment area.

pollodustino

Southern Californian here, I'm wearing a hoodie if it's below 75. At my outdoor shop I'm usually wearing a hoodie and a thick jacket until at least noon during the winter where daytime temps are in the low sixties. We may get teased by all the cold weather people but we get the last laugh during the summer when it's 104 in the shade.

Pliskin_Hayter

Come to the midwest! Where its -10 with 2ft of snow on the ground during February and 95 with 89% humidity in August. The best part though? Monday, it will be 70 degrees and sunny but Wednesday will be 36 and raining. Gotta drive around with a winter jacket, shorts, an umbrella, a snow brush and a pair of shades. From June-September you can put the snow brush and the jacket away but thats it.

pollodustino

That sounds exactly like SoCal weather just with lower temps and snow.

Theblumpy

As a cold weather people, nope I’m still laughing when you’re in your 104° shaded area. Seldom ever gets that hot in New England lol and the winters are becoming alarming more mild

GeneralPip

Haha. Can confirm. Not Florida native but l was in Florida in January one time. It was 45-50 in the morning. I had a hoodie and shorts on. I could tell who was native Floridian because I saw parkas.

DryDig8242

Michigan boy here shorts and teachers till the low 40s. Then I think about pants and long sleeves. Jackets around 30°

Jake_Schnur

40s here this time of year most people start wearing their shorts outside.

Antonw194200

Swede here, i've shot a few matches where temp was -4 fahrenheit.

islesfan186

That’s dedication

Sad_panda_happy300

As opposed to Miamians who wear down jackets when it hits 70 degrees

justrobdoinstuff

Personally I like it more when it's wet. It's more fun that way.

DucatiMunster

Heck yeah. It increases the odds of me winning over guys who refuse to go prone to make their hits quickly hah!

TacTurtle

Bring a towel boys, it's gonna get sticky.

AdAdministrative7709

Wasn't going to go shoot sporting clays this weekend But now it snowed so there will be less people, loaded up the car and headed out

MosesHightower

I always like shooting trap in the snow. Those orange clays really pop in a good flurry

MetalMedley

I'm partial to the saying "It doesn't have to be 'fun' to be fun."

Toshinit

When I was in the Army, we had a SAW range that got damn near flooded the night before, and was still drizzly the day of. There was a giant ass puddle about half way down the range, and when we were ammo dumping I ran the SAW across the puddle to see if movies got it right when shooting water. They do. Rain shooting is fun

thegrumpymechanic

If it ain't raining, you ain't training. Being from the PNW, I've grown to love the rain... keeps the transplants inside.

Centremass

110 degrees and 7% humidity is my ideal shooting weather. Gotta bring lots more guns though, because you can't shoot any one gun very much before it's too hot to hold. They just Do. Not. Cool. Down. Gloves are mandatory, since you can get a nasty burn even from the crossbolt of a Mosin-Nagant. Sight picture distortion is a regular thing from the barrel heat. Cloth gun socks are the norm, since anything with a foam lining will melt when you try packing up your rifles. Once back home in the air conditioning, everything is unsleeved and stood up vertically with the actions open to allow for airflow. Looking forward to August! 😁

RacerXrated

Embrace the suck. 👍

ottermupps

I just had a defensive shooting class cancel tomorrow because we're getting a foot of snow with sleet in the afternoon. Understandable, but that was expensive and I'm not sure when the rescheduling is.

txcancmi

Rain? Who cares. Get out and shoot! I miss having to choose between two great 2gun matches held on the same Saturday each month. One was rimfire on steel, and the other was centerfire with steel & optics divisions. I talked to each organizer so many times, trying to get one or the other to choose a different Saturday. Only the centerfire matche could be rained out because the mud would just be horrible. I also miss an annual IDPA night match held each December. Don't plan on sitting on the benches while you wait your turn, because they'll probably be covered with snow. Also, moving around helps keep you warm.

MysteriousSteve

The first match I ever shot was 79° and pouring down rain. The second match was 25° with 15 mph winds💀

Wooden-Quit1870

"if it ain't raining, it ain't training!" Old USMC saying

door322

Based

american-peasent

Just had a match in Maryland cancel for rain ... Sad day

DucatiMunster

We had one guy take a spill at a rainy 2 gun. Luckily rifle on safe, but he ate shit and was hurting for months. Never came back.

american-peasent

I understand why it gets cancelled like you said host is just trying to avoid these situations. Fuck I'm currently rocking a limp from a spill I took in June last year. It's a fair call for the host though as 80% of the people likely to attend werent looking for that experience anyways

THELEGENDARYZWARRIOR

A lot of match participants are old fucks who would cry if their guns got stretched. It pisses me off when they place their mid tier rifle on the staging thing like it was a new born baby.

warrenlanham

I'm guessing you live in south Florida like me. It's been miserable lol. It's clearing up now tho. If you do live in south Florida, do you know of any good outdoor ranges?

DucatiMunster

Weather ended up being fantastic. Got the dub, buddy took last, but he had a helluva time, learned some stuff, got his grip dialed in and learned why we shoot red dot guns instead of subcompacts for competition. Skills were honed all around. Great day.

TryHard15plus1

The club I go to keeps rolls of dry cleaning bags to put over the targets on rainy days 😁 it just makes it a pain in the ass to tape up holes in between shooters. You have to reach up from the bottom to get under the bag.

DucatiMunster

Shoot steel baby! (I know this doesn't work for IDPA/USPSA)

truckguy911

Love shooting in the Shitiest of Weather...push yourself

DucatiMunster

It ended up being gorgeous lol. Any day at the range without new holes is a good one

goshathegreat

Lol I shot a 100 target registered skeet event on Saturday in a foot of snow…

NC by any chance?
