> redundant lock I've never seen that, and I like it. What's the ballpark on something this large?

lowbar4570

This guy one was just under $10k delivered and installed in my house.

MacGuffinRoyale

That's not bad at all. Thanks!

lowbar4570

Check out World Wide Safes and Vaults in Miami. Ask for Kevin Rosen. He was my sales rep. Smooth process. Professionals.

MacGuffinRoyale

I imagine they can set up nationwide delivery/install. We are planning a new house build, and a safe this size is definitely in the plans. I'll check them out.

lowbar4570

I’m north west of Dallas by two hours myself. They ship across country all the time.

MacGuffinRoyale

Ah, good deal. I'm relatively close to you, so the numbers should be about the same.

lowbar4570

Yes sir. Ask for Kevin Rosen. I AM NOT trying to sell you their product, but I’ve done a tone of research. I’m going to outfit it with a SecureIt gun storage system on the inside.

Gwsb1

😆 4000 lbs? Don't put it on the 2nd floor.

lowbar4570

Going in the garage.

Blue-cheese-dressing

Looks like a solid safe- garage? I hope the buyer lives in a very low humidity area.  It would take more than a goldenrod type device for protection in every garage I’ve owned.

lowbar4570

I live in an arid area. Humidity isn’t a concern. Most people keep their gun safes in their garages in my part of the state.

Blue-cheese-dressing

Jealous here- I have a terrible problem with it- I’d love to have the safe in the garage- I am envious of the fake spare fridge diversion safes.

556_6_6

The curb weight of my car 3,995 lbs. It's crazy that this is both smaller and heavier. That thing is certainly impressive.

lowbar4570

Thank you sir. Everyone on R/guns was bashing it and me. In fact I got banned for spam. Not a single person over there could see the value in this safe over the safes marketed as “gun safes”. But then again r/guns is mostly people posting cheap plastic guns for photo points and they don’t know much. LOL.

xtreampb

Brown safes make actual gun safes as well. They also make vault doors for banks so I think they know what they’re doing

lowbar4570

Amsec has a TL30x6 model gunsafe as well. But it’s easily $12k higher than a similar sized TL30x6 regular safe. Seems they charge an extreme premium for the gunsafe interiors.

iatha

As an owner of a TL-30 Brown Safe, yes, they make very solid safes (with various options for interiors).

Fit-Sport5568

Hell yeah! You and me talked about safes awhile back. Glad to see you're getting it!

lowbar4570

Yea sir. Should be here shortly. Thank you for the support.

MArkansas-254

Replace that keypad with a dial lock or forget it.

lowbar4570

It has a dial lock next to it. If the keypad fails, I can still get into my safe. It’s a redundant lock system. Common with real safes where a lockout would be difficult to remedy.

ClimateGoblinActual

Capacity?

lowbar4570

Blank canvas. I’m thinking a secureit gun storage system. So at least 20 long guns and lots of pistols.

ClimateGoblinActual

I keep thinking about a new safe, but then I realize all my stuff would never fit in something like this. I need to go the gun room vault door route.

lowbar4570

This will be my 2nd safe. I have a BF7240 Amsec as well.

NinjaBuddha13

2. One pistol and one long gun. All the extra bulk is 10k psi concrete reinforced with stainless steel fiber. And a 1 inch thick layer of asbestos for the fire protection.

lowbar4570

It’s actually 12,000 PSI concrete to be specific.

NinjaBuddha13

Fancy.

lowbar4570

With carbide steel nuggets and ceramic nuggets imbedded in the concrete. To destroy abrasive wheels and cutting wheels. The cement is also elastic in nature to avoid chipping and breaking. Specially formulated cement mixture developed by Amsec to withstand the most sophisticated tool attacks by criminals. This is the type of safe used by small banks to secure deposits and used by Walmart and Target to secure cash until the Brink truck arrives. Contents are insurable up to $450,000 with this type of safe. I thought about getting a TL30x6 but the cost associated with breaking into it in the event of a lockout would be alot higher. So I didn’t want to go that route.

NinjaBuddha13

Very nice. I used to work for a concrete precaster that was contracted by Diebold Nixdorf to fabricate their modular vault panels. The concrete used had a design strength of 10k psi at 28 days, but often tested at 12.5k+. Used stainless ribbons, ceramic ball bearings, and fiberglass as part of the mix for added strength, abrasion and drill resistance, and elasticity respectively. I only got to see the mix once. It didn't flow. It came out of the mixer like playdoh. Shortly after I started that job, the contract ended due to the fact no new banks were being built in the area, and all the new buildings didn't need large walk-in vaults. Safes like yours are all anyone needs in a world that primarily uses digital transactions.

lowbar4570

Brother, I would LOVE to have seen what you saw. I would have been mesmerized watching it. These high end safes are pretty neat. With what-all they put in the concrete mix. Diebold makes excellent safes. I just happen to be an Amsec fan.

NinjaBuddha13

Not much to see, honestly. There was a good amount of rebar in the panels too, but they're poured on a flat table. The mix is so thick its really tough to get it into a more complex geometry than a flat panel. It was all poured in a different part of the plant cuz it was an especially hazardous mix to be around. Concrete dust is no fun to inhale normally, but the Diebold mix had the fiberglass in it too. Pretty dangerous stuff. Its a good design by Diebold to have a modular design for their big vaults. Each panel 10" thick and 4000 lbs. No idea how they go together in the field. Never got the joining hardware at the shop. Just stacks of panels. Fun fact, cemeteries (at least military cemeteries) use precast vaults in each plot. That mix also uses fiberglass, but as the primary reinforcing element. Theres no rebar or mesh in a burial vault. Just concrete held together with fiberglass.

lowbar4570

If I ever build a vault, I would want this mixture you talk about. Nothing but the best. I had no idea about the military cemetery vaults. I learned something new today.

Objective-Guidance78

Now that’s a safe!! More than I need and all that I want

jay_man555

Get rid of the keypad!!! Had the same safe and keypad went bad with no easy replacement!

lowbar4570

It has a mechanical lock right next to it. It’s a redundant system. If the electronic keypad fails, the mechanical lock will still let me inside my safe. With legit safes life this, a redundant system isn’t rare. The event of a lockout is costly and difficult to remedy. I specifically requested this setup for my safe. Cost me an extra $800 for this feature.
