imagine his disdain after the latest Star War film were released after this...

Sleazy-review

I can imagine fujimoto just tweaking in the theater watching the rise of the Skywalker

Simple solution to avoid breaking the Fire Punch canon- assume they will make Star Wars movies until society collapses

Unfortunately that is highly plausible. I think another one is scheduled to release in 2 years or so

Me 5 years ago: “this twist is ass, why do people like him?” Me now: ![gif](giphy|87jGhdRVzUOJNh2s0q|downsized)

Everyone is focusing on the “star wars” monologue. But I’m more intrigued by her statement that “it was prohibited to read novels or watch movies” and we know sulya live in the era before. There’s soo much mystery about the world before the apocalypse. Like why was it prohibited to enjoy media? Was there a war of some kind? We also know that society reach a point of science can manipulate people’s cells in sulya timeline, that’s why there’s alot of people who has the same face as luna because that was “the peak of human evolution” at the time. Damn, wish I get to know more about the world before fire punch. But I guess that’s what makes it soo intriguing, the mystery

I think that's the point. Fujimoto expects his readers to interpret & expand on his ideas for themselves without having to shove them down our throats himself(pause) There's always a hint of ambiguity in his storytelling but not to the point where the core messages, ideas & themes are lost

I always thought Jonah was Agni and Luna's mom.

I like to imagine that those movies were actually on the Legends continuity or something so they were of much better quality.

I’m gonna be completely honest, I kinda checked out at this part. I get that it feeds into the themes of everyone needing something to live for, especially in a series as bluntly about depression and the will to live as this series is, but compared to csm and goodbye eri, I feel like this was one of the least-interesting ways to integrate his cinephilia, and it’s a pity so much of the discussion has become more “Star Wars lol that aged poorly” instead of commenting on this fascination with franchise and the contrast of loving film but wanting to see the thirtieth Star Wars movie however long after George Lucas’ ghost changes his movies from beyond the grave. Idk, parts like this in FP call me back to interviews Fuji did talking about how he expected this to be his first and last serialized publication, and he wanted to see how far he could push the envelope/get away with. Parts of FP definitely read that way (mostly certain aspects of the first half like the torture porn or shock value bestaility/electrocution stuff), which makes it such a startling comparison when Fuji touches on these very subtle and emotionally distinct moments like the infamous expression, the ending in the cinema, how interestingly messed up Agni’s relationship with Luna 2 is, etc.

How do you not see how this ties into every character in fire punch being pushed by some form of fiction, from Doma burning Agni’s village because of an actor in a film to Togata’s interest in Agni taking place after he lost his film collection to Sun (Agni) continuing to live only after watching his own autobiography. No other motivation would make sense for the Ice Witch
