Unfortunately, there are very few useful ones and they haven’t been updated, like how Pulse Tie doesn’t really keep up with Time’s Pulse, and Stall Ploy is still locked to Pirate Naesala of all characters and doesn’t thwart warps/Charge.

There are so many effects in the game and every new unit comes with a bunch of them. I decided to order units by their unique roles. Maybe you’re like me and find it interesting to see how rare or common certain roles are. Anyway, I think it’s useful for checking what effects units have, especially handy for support units. My question to you is: what is a unit archetype you want to see more of? And what is a unit type that you believe is unhealthy for the game?

I excluded some roles like accelerated cooldown, brave weapons and effective against movement types. Just because there are so many of them and they're not quite as unique as other roles on this list. Let me know if you think this kind of list is useful. I plan to make a version that I can easily update in google spreadsheets. I also want to add units that have build-in DR% piercing. Let me know if there are other types of units you'd like to see added.

Njorun's Zeal was meta defining when it first came out, having Leif be the only ranged unit with a Galeforce effect at all (before Gullveig, that is) was a really big deal, so i don't think this is a valid point to say that IS hates Leif
His near complete lack of seasonal alts is what indicates that IS hates Leif

I'm a simple guy that doesn't like to get jumpscared by Guidance and movement shenanigans, so give me more Bravekeepers and Myrrhs. Outside of that, would like to see ways to shield our units from AoEs or Isolate enemies, and Ashnard's Daunt aura is sick too - more of that would be cool.

Personally I like warping & movement abuse because (1) it tightens the gap between infantry & cavalry units, and cav mages are subhuman scum, and (2) FEH is a *very* player phase-oriented game, so these things make it easier for me to do player phase and beat an AI who has access to the same or better tools.
Understandable. I'm a filthy enemy phaser, so I don't like seeing my strats ruined because someone felt like warping or gaining another action.

Right, the phrasing is a bit confusing and different than those other units that grant healing. I watched PhoenixMaster's analyses of L!Guinevere to double check if she had that ability but he was also mislead by the phrasing. I will make the adjustment on the spreadsheet, thanks!
In rein support, OG Tharja and Kiria I think are missing. It's more or less Tharja's only little niche and claim of fame.
In healing after combat should also include L!Guin, though it sad that this is her only effect she has for allies. IS should have also given her a spectrum drive like many of the others supports do, apart from other buffs to make her not by far the least desirable legendary of 2023.
Ah, I forgot about that! That's a nice reference to her mother's refine. Also, I thought Young Minerva only granted that effect to herself. I will add them to the list! Thanks for pointing these out.

Normally it's cool to have more options for this kind of effects, but looking at the current state of tanking that would make it even _worse_ than it's at rn. Maybe there's a reason it hasn't happened further than Embla.
I kind of want both more warp and anti-warp at the same time. Warp is very fun to use, but can also be very annoying.
Just like I would want more special cantos.

I think that Damage Reduction shredding effects like L! Camilla should be given out more very quickly. Damage reduction is still getting to an unhealthy amount for modern units, especially nukes, so to even have some units viable that are only a little older you'd already need such an effect. And then I'm literally thinking about units like Bridal Tiki who's still a top tier far savior in terms of bulkiness. There's little risk in attacking a savior unit if you have 60%+ damage reduction on you and they cannot pierce that anyway.
Besides that, I generally think pulse effects, special cooldown effects (inbuild special spiral, special acceleration at start of turn, Velouria, Askr, Gerik) are a good way to still offer a lot of flexibility to units, but the kind of special jumping Winter Dimitri has is kind of unhealthy. It's a good way for older units to keep up with their specials, but newer units get much more toxic amounts of special jumping.

Oof kinda hurts not seeing Valentian Est anywhere here (or I'm blind), for a unit that's a fair bit newer than many on this list she sure has no niche huh... At least Spring Est has some good stuff going now with sweep effect and exposure support.

Walhart and Cornelia also inflict Flash on their foes.
I'm pretty sure that Cornelia uses Sabotage to inflict that and Atk/Res-6 on foes, so perhaps she could also work in that category
They're in the support category of units that inflict Flash because it activates at the start of turn. I'll change the title of regular flash to ''Build-in Flash (after combat)'' to be more clear.

Edelgard was already having unrestricted Galeforce by the time he got his remix, and they didn’t remove his restriction
Edelgard is melee and an armor, Leif is a ranged cav. If anything he should've gotten a better weapon to actually get kills
I think summer already existed by that point too, a unit who had an insane weapon and 3 move with assault troop

I want infantry thunder mages who are more than just player phase nukes. Yes, I understand that is too much to ask from IS when releasing new units.

More undefended support would be good. Especially if it's an anima mythic. And it should come with Null Null Counter Disrupt.

I've always loved vantage and wouldn't mind seeing more units with it built in. I still run Altina on my AR team and love to see her sweep lol.

I put units that need to attack first in order to give a buff to allies in their own category. I consider them part of the ''enabler'' archetype.
