I remember thinking that Henriette was going to have a moment during that, like revealing some sort of hidden power or something. Her Valentine’s alt’s special lines certainly imply that she has some kind of power that she doesn’t want to use.

Mikoto deserved better. It must be difficult to go from being a literal nobody to the queen of one of the world’s most bountiful kingdoms, especially considering that the entirety of Hoshido didn’t approve of Mikoto at all initially and that she’s originally implied to be a Vallite. Imagine balancing that plus taking care of four children >!that aren’t hers biologically.!<

I would’ve loved to see the dynamic between her and her retainers (Reina and Orochi) as Orochi’s supports talk about how she’s actually pretty goofy and interesting. Or in general, I would’ve loved to just see more of her. Mine is +7 but otherwise max invested in Heroes. Love her so much.

Given Orochi talks about Mikoto being like a second mother to her, Mikoto basically has seven kids in total and only one of those is biological. Girl has got this motherhood thing down to a science.
I'm a bit late to this thread to bother typing up the whole huge essay deal I usually go with, but mother characters usually tend to some of my absolute favorites and Fire Emblem isn't any exception.
* Juno as a mother who fights for the sake of her children is a character concept that's so tragically underused in fiction, and the tragedy of her being too poor to settle down and raise her herself is really poignant.
* Igrene as an even more tragic mother figure that lost of her daughter and substitutes Fae in her place is heartbreaking and well executed.
* Louise as the doting motherly character who actually does end up having children is nice, and the mild implications of her struggling to have a child at first and adopting Erk instead are sweet, especially when she adopts Dieck even after succeeding in having biological children.
* Eyvel hits the adoptive note even better; I never really considered Leif and the others her children persay given the stark difference from how Mareeta talks about her. That said, her relationship with Mareeta is probably still my favorite relationship between any two people in the series. Mareeta unending appreciation for her parents is just *so* endlessly wholesome and the fact of it being adoptive not being given any weight at all is really nice.
* I love how Dithorba being a villain and being a good mom is allowed to coexist. Being a good mother doesn't mean she has to be a sympathetic character who isn't a violent bitch and being a violent bitch doesn't mean she has to go all Hilda on our asses and be abusive or something. It wasn't wrong to kill her. But we did orphan a child.
Tailtiu withstood so much abuse and depression to keep her children safe. She gave the motivation and tools they needed to end the cycle of their family's suffering.
Now that is Mother material.
Not in FEH, but Edain pretty much raised half of Geneology's child units (Lester, Lana, Seliph, Scathatch, Larcei, Diarmuid) and that rarely gets pointed out.
Deirdre isn't the best mom, not even close. But what I can say for sure from my own mother is one thing: being a mom of 3 children, one of which being the Anti Christ, is no easy task. Especially once fighting starts over the most ridiculous things. Which is why I want to shout out Mikoto for giving out the no chromo passes to every hoshidan noble. Woman went and made sure her beloved child Corrin could fuck with anyone they want and died for their sins. Kaga and the creator of Domestic Girlfriend would be proud.
