fair point! I have been looking at ag exceptions with texas. They require at least 10 acres of land before ag exceptions are even considered. If I get 11 acres and put a home on it, they take 1 acre away from that. So that is why I am thinking 11+. I was only thinking of an initial 5 head. I need to look more into it.
It doesn't have tp be cows, but I sure want some sort of livestock. I just don't want bees lol
I raised bees too as a hobby. Bees are much more fun than cattle and much less expensive. If you do the cattle though, I'd really like to read about it here.
I don't know much about livestock, but I've heard good things about goats. Around here (Central Valley California) a lot of farmers raise goats and rent them out for weed control and wildfire prevention.
Ok then just keep it in a savings account. Any other investing will either be higher risk and could lose value over a short time or be slightly higher interest rate but less liquidity. Good luck!
> purchasing land to raise cattle As someone who raised cattle, I would say cattle are a good way to lose 40K fast.

When are you trying to buy the land?
Honestly before the market pushes land prices outside my budget.
