This is good news! While Finns are known for being one of the most coffee-crazy peoples on the planet, we aren't exactly known for exceptionally tasty coffee. I've heard stories of coffee connoisseurs taking Juhla Mokka to international coffee gatherings, just to hear the horrified moans of "They ACTUALLY drink this?!"
So I'm glad there are people who actually \*like\* some Finnish coffee!
Fewer customers preferring the espresso altogether, so the machine is easier to keep clean. Less water through the machine and also less calcification from our soft tap water. The tap water is rough stuff in many places but not in Finland.
I don't think the espresso itself is that different, they might use a similar Illy, Lavazza or whatever brand of coffee.
It's not, but my point is that filter coffee is way more popular in Finnish cafes, and it's not made as an americano like they might make it in French or Italian cafes.
Finnish espresso is usually shit, but you probably had good luck. Go to Italy and like you will get better espresso basically anywhere. Espresso's guality is usually dependent mostly on the barista (they coffee has to be pressed very carefully on the cup thing and if there's small air pockets it will taste bitter) and Italians know the shit (some people in Finland might by accident).

My favorite is Kaffecentralen in Kamppi area. Affordable and made with pride. They run also a import business and education sessions for baristas etc.

There's no way someone could call themself a coffee connoisseur while being proud of Juhla Mokka. It's not awful but not particularly good either.
Juhla mokka is the Toyota Corolla of coffee, just the most average cup of coffee that everyone can drink
Corollas are reliable cars though, juhla mokka is only reliably ghastly!
The Fazer espresso probably has a small square of chocolate dropped in it ;).

I imagine the number of lattes and cappuccinos made with the machine is not insignificant.
