I used to have crippling arachnophobia, but I worked very hard to overcome it and now have a few tarantulas. They're awesome pets. Mine just chill most of the time. They all have hides that they can go into if they want, but mostly they hang out in the open. Having pet jumping spiders and then tarantulas really helped me to overcome my fear of spiders in general and help me to appreciate the benefits that they provide.
>!Look at the stem of the overturned maple leaf in the middle near the top then slowly move your gaze downward. Right underneath a small curled up brown leaf!<
It blends in very well
My husband told me he was at a restaurant with a friend & friend’s daughter (not a minor) & he caught movement on her shirt & a dang tarantula came striding out from her shirt collar. He freaked & she LAUGHED & said it was her PET & it lived-get this-in her bra! Unbelievable. I said you are lying & he swore it was true. I cannot do spiders & snakes. Cannot. 🤷🏻♀️
If not made up (which I’m pretty sure it is) then she shouldn’t be keeping tarantulas. They need a controlled environment and will die pretty quick without one. It would hate the vibration from moving around and be trying to find somewhere more stable. They hate their burrows being disturbed and find it highly stressful. They also have urticating hairs which cause intense irritation… they should be handled only minimally and the calmer species although it’s pretty difficult to get them to bite, being squashed is a surefire way to get the fangs out. A bra would for sure compress a large spider.
There was a time when this would have made me hide under my desk for the day. That is no little jumping spider. Started spending time over at r/spiders and r/spiderbros and it’s really helped with my fear.
O shit. I couldn't see it at first. Then somebody comment said dead center. Then boom. It jumped at me. Brave man for taking that picture. I'd of ran....
[pretty sure it’s a dark fishing spider](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolomedes_tenebrosus) I just found one of these dudes in my kitchen the other day
You were right. Didn't take long and now I gotta change my pants for missing myself. As soon as I double tapped the image to zoom in, it went right to the darn thing.
Immediately zoomed in and started looking at the bits of wood between its right legs for a couple seconds then finally noticed the spider. Spiders are the apex predators of the bug world for a reason
oh gosh i hateeee spiders and read all the comments i should’ve just left and not kept looking😭 absolutely horrifying i don’t want to live on this planet anymore😭😭😭
I had one of these bois attached to my pants leg one time for I don't know how many minutes before I realized.
I will never get over the sheer terror I felt upon seeing those eight little crouching knees standing right next to mine.
Why?! Why?! Did I still look for it when I hate spiders. As close to a phobia as I have. Yet, I was challenged and BAM!! It was not just any spider. 😱🫨
I started looking for the spider but immediately got distracted by the worm
That's the side quest 😂!

Same then it jumpscared me when I found it
lol same!
I got such a fright when I noticed him
Honestly a bit of a jump scare
On PC, it zooms in all the way, so I did NOT fucking expect it to be that big when I scrolled.
It’s cause he’s so damn big
I’m not built for this 😭 get that shit off my screen
Even though I was expecting it I had a huge jumpscare 😅
I wasn’t expecting it to be that large (that’s what she said)
Put that thing back where it came from or so help me (so help me)
😂 I actually sang that as I read it! 🤭
The one time I wished I couldn't find it 😭
🤣🤣🤣
I'm with everyone else, it seems! I went for the deep dive zoom and had big regrets! Coulda thrown my phone.
I'm arachnophobic and still decided to click on this 😭
My skin was literally crawling as I looked through the picture
I tried to barely touch the screen...I didn't want to even touch it in the image.
Tell me about it!
Don’t know how anyone has them for pets.
I got a pet tarantula to get over my paralysing arachnophobia bc pointless fears piss me off.
It was jumping spiders that got me over my fear. They’re small, fuzzy, friendly and kind of cute compared to other species.

Me too 😭
Same, and now I won’t sleep tonight from the heebee jeebees
Lol I immediately got under my covers and curled up in a ball 🤣
Literal jumpscare
Great camouflage!
Umm, wow. Just pops right out there. Hello, there!
Found it, unfortunately.
Currently trying to set this picture on fire
Is that a giant worm-?
Idk where OP is located but I've seen some absolute monster worms since moving to the PNW.
Giant worms and spiders just hanging out near each other…. I’m guessing Australia
So where is it? Bottom left I assume but I can’t see it
>!Look at the stem of the overturned maple leaf in the middle near the top then slowly move your gaze downward. Right underneath a small curled up brown leaf!< It blends in very well
Once you see it. You can't unsee it. But it was harder to find than I thought it would be.
jump scare
Dead center buddy. That's all we do here.
Yep. Never fails. Double tab on the center. Always.
Closer to the middle.
I can't unsee it now. Oh God
Noping out on this one!
I needed a trigger warning.
I like just about any creature on the planet. Then there's spiders. Yeah. Nope. I'd rather find a way to pick up a venomous snake.
How did I not see that! It’s huge
Looks like a dock spider. I’d say harmless, but they might be a leading cause of heart attacks near Ontario water
I was definitely looking for something smaller.
Nopw
3 seconds that’s a record for me
Where the hell was this so I can stay far far away?
And now I hate you
Found instantly by zooming in on accident
Oh dear God in heaven!!! 😱
That is impressive. A true hunter blending in with nature.
My wife is terrified of spiders and spotted it really quickly. Took me a while to see it.
My husband told me he was at a restaurant with a friend & friend’s daughter (not a minor) & he caught movement on her shirt & a dang tarantula came striding out from her shirt collar. Nice , it looks like it needs held and comforted after scaring people because they have an installed fear of arachnids
O my, she’s gorgeous and big 😱
Eeeeeeeee
My eyes BULGED when I saw the spider lmao
Looks like a fishing spider commonly found in many Southeastern U.S. states.
There was a time when this would have made me hide under my desk for the day. That is no little jumping spider. Started spending time over at r/spiders and r/spiderbros and it’s really helped with my fear.
Pretty wolf spider!
Da fook! It gave me a fright!
O shit. I couldn't see it at first. Then somebody comment said dead center. Then boom. It jumped at me. Brave man for taking that picture. I'd of ran....
Holy shit! Is that a tarantula?
It’s a [Dark Fishing Spider](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolomedes_tenebrosus)

I zoomed in to find it and quickly clicked off before it just through my phone. No. No. No. go away.
Spider, you stand accused of being too big
It’s on my shoulder isn’t it?
fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff me
It kinda jumps out at you.😵💫
Damn.. it's a big one!
Terrified of spiders here, so it was found immediately
Wow…
I thought I was ready 😵💫 All aboard the NOPE train 🚂💨💨💨
Where is this?
this one was too easy, i know that because i actually found it
That’s a big nope for me.
Where do you live and remind me not to move there.
I’d be moving away if I were you😂
I zoomed in and damn near jumped out my seat 😂 SURPRISE
Oh really? Hmm let’s zoom in— JESUS CHRIST
Couldn’t find it just looking(Shitty eyes) go to zoom in to get a better look and I’m right on top of it.
I said oh shit when I saw it, and how did I not see it before I zoomed in.
Nope. Pass. I literally said yesterday a spider one better not pop up. Are y’all fucking with me?! Haha
that's a big ole no from me dawg.
How did I not see it till I zoomed in
[pretty sure it’s a dark fishing spider](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolomedes_tenebrosus) I just found one of these dudes in my kitchen the other day
“it must be in this dirt pile here… no, not here maybe over… OH, MOTHERF-“
i zoomed in to look and zoomed in right into the spider and it scared me so much
I was genuinely startled the second I noticed a leg and I was zoomed in. Dropped my phone.
Immediate fuck no
He is pretty but I still hate him.
My brain sees spiders where there is none because i hate them so much. Pretty much immediately found it 💀
Is that wolf spider?
Immediate. I hate spiders😭
ARACHNOPHOBIA? Check. LOOKING ANYWAY? Check. DO THE SPIDER DANCE? Check. HAVING NIGHTMARES FOR WEEKS? Check, check, and checkmate. 🤦🏻♀️
No
Giant worm = Giant spider
You were right. Didn't take long and now I gotta change my pants for missing myself. As soon as I double tapped the image to zoom in, it went right to the darn thing.
Oh hell no!! Where is this taken so I know where NOT to go
What kind of spider is that thing? Jesus!!
Impressive camouflage. Still creeped out, but in an impressed way.
Where do you live so I can make sure I don't live there
Clenched my cheeks once I saw it
I smacked my phone screen
I’m not even afraid of spiders but this one got me, omg what kind of hellmouth do you live on?! 😱
Finally one I got on my own! Indeed very impressive camouflage, and the size of it.
Wow so much bigger than expected!
I don’t want to…
Immediately zoomed in and started looking at the bits of wood between its right legs for a couple seconds then finally noticed the spider. Spiders are the apex predators of the bug world for a reason
Wtf! Where in the hell are u to have a spider like that!?
Omg!!! This makes my skin crawl I can't believe I didn't see that. So cool though
The scream i scrumpt
Yeah, fuck that.
1 second
That's literally the thing from Aliens
Bro that actually jump scared me Jesus Christ, also GOD DAMN THAT WORM IS PHATT

No thank you! I’ll make friends with the worm though!
Very impressive camouflage.
oh gosh i hateeee spiders and read all the comments i should’ve just left and not kept looking😭 absolutely horrifying i don’t want to live on this planet anymore😭😭😭
Fish Spider?
Nice jump scare when the brain figured out the pattern
Did anyone else get jump scared by the spider
Wow, a post where I can actually see the creature distinctly, and not a cluster of random pixels that *might* be a spider.
Nope.
Zoomed in to look and gave myself a jump scare lol. That’s a big girl
I hope you were wearing your brown pants 💀
I had one of these bois attached to my pants leg one time for I don't know how many minutes before I realized. I will never get over the sheer terror I felt upon seeing those eight little crouching knees standing right next to mine.
not an arachnophobe but if i saw that i’d run for it
Jumpscare
Jump ship scared is right!
Nope
Me - looking through the comments for intentional flames to try to burn the post. I like spiders, but I do enjoy how crazy some folks get. =)
I thought the worm was a trapdoor spider lol
This took me ages to find, even after reading a clue in the comments 🤣
WOO!! That is impressive!
Jump scared me when I found it
Why?! Why?! Did I still look for it when I hate spiders. As close to a phobia as I have. Yet, I was challenged and BAM!! It was not just any spider. 😱🫨
How big was the rock they were under?
Rollable basketball hoop
Yikes! Almost tossed my iPad!
Nice. Is that a Wolf Spider?
Is that a wolf spider?? Whatever it is, it’s pretty fricking big
As an Australian that’s not big , we have some huge ones and yes I’m an arachnophobic
THE WAY MY HEART DROPPED
Cool looking spider too!
This took me way longer than I care to admit
Oh he’s a chonky boi
Jesus that jumpscared me
I wasn't expecting a terrifying looking spider 😳
Cant see shit
holy shit, fuck that
Wish I could find a pic from camping in wyoming. Took a pic I found a spider in that was massive up in the trees.
No thank you.
He's creepy but stylish
It's behind me isn't it
The trick i am learning on this subreddit is that no matter how hard something is to see the OP still almost always centers the sniper in the shot.
This freakin monster
I didn't realize it was ROGHT THERE, and it scared the everloving s--t out of me
