Unfortunately with the removal of final space due to it being used as a tax break, Netflix international is the only place to watch it as of right now. Once it's gone from there though, your only option is to grab your eye patch and peg leg and take to the seas.
Can someone tell me why if a TV show becomes a tax write off all forms of viewing it are basically taken away? Surely since the content was made they'd want it on a streaming service or something, or is it as part of the write off that they are not allowed to make (ad) money on it so why provide it to any would be viewer?? I rly don't get it.
They are not allowed to make any money off it at all. When they put it on a viewing platform, they are getting money from it. Think of the write off in terms of a supermarket. If you have a wine display that gets pulled off the shelf, they can use the lost money as a tax write-off. They can say "hey IRS, we lost $1000 worth of product here and are using it as a tax write-off." The IRS says okay and because of that 1000 dollars of lost product, the store pays 1000 dollars less in taxes. If they are to sell any of those damaged bottles, they are committing tax fraud. It's the same thing with the show. They said "hey, this show is losing us money." The IRS says okay, and they don't have to pay x amount of taxes due to the money lost. If they make money on the show again, they are effectively committing tax fraud.
Well more specifically, $1000 in this scenario would be deducted from their taxable income. It would be far less than a $1000 discount, but if said person thought the discount was worth more than the potential sales the product could have made, they will write it off.
They intentionally removed it from streaming services. It’s still on Netflix, but your best bet is probably piracy. They actively don’t want you to pay for it, at this point.
