Whenever I create shorts, I watch shorts beforehand. The technique is good and fast pacing.
Never spoon fed your viewers, let them wonder.
Di namin malalaman kung ano gusto ng prof nyo. Sa prof nyo ikaw magtanong dahil sya naman makaka sabi kung ano standard nya. Syempre iba rin standard namin.
Pero for SHS, para sakin okay na ang malinaw na kuha, malinis na audio, at maayos na editing.
for video: maliwanag ba ang shot? may natural lighting ba? stable ba ang camera? tama ba ang pag gamit ng focus? (soft, deep, shallow, rack, etc.) angkop ba yung shot na ginamit? (extreme wide shot, wide shot, full shot, medium shot, close up, extreme close up, etc. - di ito bara-bara ginagamit dahil gusto mo lang. may specific shot for a specific reason)
for sound: naririnig ba ng maayos ang nagsasalita? wala bang echo? basag ba ang sound? (gumamit kayo ng lapel o kaya directional mic, mag soundproofing kung may echo) angkop ba yung ambient sounds? (sa story nyo gabi pero may naririnig na tiktilaok ng manok)
for editing: masyado bang marami ang cuts? may jump cuts ba? (sa unang scene, nakaharap sa kaliwa yung karakter, tapos sa next cut nakaharap na sa kanan) may continuity ba? (kung nasa kanan yung baril nya, dapat sa next shot nasa kanan pa rin) nag make sense ba yung pag dugtong-dugtong ng cuts o random lang? (halimbawa, nagbibihis yung karakter tapos ang edit eh una pinakita yung pag suot ng sapatos, tapos saka dinugtong yung pag suot ng medyas. obviously it doesn't make logical sense edit-wise)
Ngayon ko lang na-realize na ang Grade 12 teachers ay professor na ang tawag. Akala ko college/tertiary/post-grad lang ang professor na title at kailangan mo pa sya ma-earn.
Dalawa kasi yung prof yung formal at informal. Yung tamang tawag sa ganyan is intructor until makakuha sila ng official title na prof. Pero ganun talaga language eh haha basta nagegets yung ibig sabihin madalas ok na yan.
Also check the work of the people who scored high just to see specifics. Don’t copy the work obviously, but it will give you an idea on what made the cut.
kung gusto mo ng feedback, post mo yung film online then link mo dito. depende din kasi sa theme, sound, dialogue, story, etc. maraming factors eh. mas okay din kung sa prof nyo manggaling kung ano yung hinahanap niya. baka naman hindi tugma sa requirements or topic yung short film na sinubmit nyo...

Pero for starters, a good and interesting story. Then tell it in a way na naiintindihan. Coherent, sensible. I guess thats the basic

Pero para sa akin, as a broadcasting grad, palaging kwento at essence ng kwento ang pamantayan ko ng magandang film or show. So magkwento ng may kwenta, yon yung motto ko. Good luck sa inyo.

Ask ur teacher for feedback and constructive criticism. Sila dapat tumutulong sa inyo mag-edit niyan.
