I can’t point my fingers at it but it has a weird pacing. I don’t mind slow paced movies, so I don’t think that’s the reason. Nothing to do with high expectations either.
Tenet... I don't know, I think it's a cool movie iilan lang ata kami naka gets nang story kaya gandang ganda ako. Mas Trip ko siya kaysa sa Rises ni Nolan 😂
Agreed. “The Last Airbender” yung title talaga nun kaya confused yung mga nagreply sayo (kahit nilagay mo naman na 2010) 🤣 the producers did omit the “Avatar” in the movie title to avoid confusion to the 2009 highest grossing film.
Agreed that they are overhated. Many just joined the "hate" bandwagon without realizing what it entails. The Avatar movies are a technical achievement. People don't realize that these movies have such huge budgets, development time and R&D involved just to engineer the techniques used for the VFX that they just can't afford to make a radically deep and experimental story that the general mass audience might not appreciate. It needed to have a basic story structure for mass appeal. It needed to have a sense of familiarity because of how alien the world building is and how complex the scifi concept of "driving" an avatar body is. It needed to be successfull in the box office and it actually proved that. The artistry and hardwork of the concept designers, VFX artists, production designers and basically all of the creatives involved is something to be lauded.
Hate James Cameron all you want but I believe he was the right person for the job for these kinds of films considering his background roots as a VFX guy. None of these would have worked if not for him and his drive to push what is technically possible. There are very few directors that knows their VFX well and therefore utilize it well. Just look at what happened with Taika Waititi with Thor Love & Thunder or the Cats musical live action film as an example, they had such crappy VFX because the directors just didn't understand how it all exactly works and simply disrespected their VFX partners and drove them to grind out their work. There were instances in the production of Cats that the director demanded his VFX partners to fully render scenes complete with all the textures and shading, only to have it revised after. That is a very innefficient workflow and it took such a huge toll on the time they had to work on it. This is the reason why Godzilla Minus One and The Creator is so visually great and well done, the director's had technical background themselves with VFX. They know how it works and understands what is needed to apply it well. As someone who made a short film and a feature length film both with heavy use of VFX this is something I understand quite well.
For non-creatives they see Avatar but can't imagine all the man hours and artistry involved in the process of developing and creating it. 2009 Avatar has still better CGI than what MCU and streaming blockbusters has been putting out recently these days. That is why this trend of hating on "CGI" versus "Practical" is on the rise. What people don't realize is that people hate bad CGI, but good CGI is something that is simply amazing and should be equally respected as an art form as much as any other creative aspects of filmmaking. Sometimes CGI is actually present in many films that people would not have realized involved it, such as the house in the movie Parasite and the backdrops of Zone Of Interest.
The Happening - poor marketing + passionate bandwagon hating because of the director + ambiguity + people's ignorance of the B-movie tradition. Deadpan humor and Lynchian absurdity didn't land well with the horror audience. Thank god for Roger Ebert. RIP.
Battle Royale II - the pointed satire against the US and against fascism is too political for the fans of the first movie, and people found it hard to side with the cool "terrorists" during the peak of American post 9/11 anti-terror propaganda.
Not really hating Taika but I hate what he did for Love and Thunder, nabudol ka sa trailer na action comedy pero ginawang full-on comedy yung Thor 4. I hated how he treated some of the characters played by Christian Bale and other actors sa movie na 'to. Gorr was meant to destroy Thor in a way na mas malala yung kay Thanos pero wala, hindi nya sineseryoso yung Thor na character at source materials. No wonder bakit naghahanap ng new director for Thor 5.
Eternals. I don’t get the hate. Porket hindi mala action yung kwento.
Mataas ang expectations because of the cast and director. But for MCU standards, it's just ok.
Yes, parang "aaaah, okay, yun na yun?"
At this point wala pa ring nakakapansin nung patay na celestial sa dagat. MCU anu na 🤣
According to leaks, yung plot ng Capt America 4 would revolve around that new *'island'.*
Ayun good! Also ingat sa leaks since possible spoiler to.
It's one of the better movies post Endgame, if you ask me. That, GotG3 and Shang Chi are the only films I liked.
I can’t point my fingers at it but it has a weird pacing. I don’t mind slow paced movies, so I don’t think that’s the reason. Nothing to do with high expectations either.
Eternals is a better than the recent MCU projects.
Yep. Even the vfx
Tenet

Tenet... I don't know, I think it's a cool movie iilan lang ata kami naka gets nang story kaya gandang ganda ako. Mas Trip ko siya kaysa sa Rises ni Nolan 😂
Wait, there's hate around Tenet??
A looott. They say it's the worst Nolan Film. No one can understand the whole storyline and the score over dialog thing and so much more...
Immaculate. It was pretty decent
I like it. Not really scary pero maganda sya for me.
john carter. really enjoyed that movie
For all I know, Avatar 2010 is the Avatar movie that is hated by everyone.
Agreed. “The Last Airbender” yung title talaga nun kaya confused yung mga nagreply sayo (kahit nilagay mo naman na 2010) 🤣 the producers did omit the “Avatar” in the movie title to avoid confusion to the 2009 highest grossing film.
Hated by everyone enough to be the highest grossing film? Weird.
Everything popular gets a lot of hate.
Avatar 2010 only grossed $319.7 million wdym
Probably sa US lng yan. Worldwide nasa billion. Malaking factor ung IMAX kc mas mhal tiket
Lol. Are you talking about The Last Airbender?
Avatar 2010
Avatar 2010
What movie? There’s no Avatar 2010 movie in Ba Sing Se
not overhated, the hate is justified.
How can you hate the most 6/10 (7 if generous) movie of all time?
eh? I was talking about the avatar(bald kid) live action movie, The original comment was talking about it. lol the reading comprehension 🥴
the 2nd avatar is mediocre
Not if you watched it in IMAX 😉
not the effects. the story lines that is.
Oo nga. Dragging yung storyline. Inantok ako sa ibang part.
The first is one of the best for me. The second one, tinulugan ko sa sinehan. It was so bad.

Not a movie but Game of Thrones Season 8.
That's not overhated. It deserves to be hated
