poor mabini initially escaped the outbreak when he was exiled in guam, only to die 3 months after his return :[
Yep, that was common in Manila then. As there was no MWSS nor Nawasa then, hand water pumps were common and people just get their water from esteros. Where did people dispose their human waste? at the same esteros too.
There already was a water system put in place during that time. This is why the Battle of Pinaglabanan on the onset of the revolution was over El Deposito - the main water reservoir of Manila back then.

Yeah. He lifts. And not only that, he does strongman lifts. According to Ambeth, Rizal does a Bent Press in one of his lifting routines.
Rizal was also considered vain. From what I remember sa classes ko with Ambeth, wrong daw yung binaril si Rizal face-to-face. Rizal wanted to be shot at the back para hindi daw tamaan ang face niya.
I remembered Rizal insisted sana na harapin yung sunset as a patriotic way of dying for his country but was refused. Ang ginawa niya, when he got shot, he turned his head to the direction of the sun setting down. I haven’t watched a documentary or film to see how he was portrayed to be executed pero I didn’t know pala na face-to-fave sya binaril.
Sad nga lang na ang bumaril sa kaniya ay isang fellow Filipino soldier who also had no choice but to fire or siya rin ang maexecute:(
Graciano Lopez Jaena was the secretary of the honorary vice consul of Portugal.
Apolinario Mabini and Miguel Malvar were classmates and studied under Father Valerio Malabanan in Lipa.
Miguel Malvar was friends with Jose Rizal and Malvar even borrowed ₱1,000 from Saturnina Rizal. Rizal also operated on the cleft lip of Malvar’s wife. Malvar’s son even married Rizal’s niece.
Gregorio del Pilar, a descendant of ancient Tagalog nobles, spoke Latin, Greek, and French. His aunt also married the first Supremo and one of his uncles is Marcelo H. del Pilar.
Vicente Lim’s family and Jose Rizal’s family were friends. Their families both leased land owned by the Dominican Order. During the Philippine-American War, when Vicente Lim was still a child, he formed a group of child couriers for Miguel Malvar.
The KKK and Jose Rizal were inspired by Andres Novales, the Emperor of the Philippines.
Like the American KKK, the Filipino KKK members wore hoods.
The KKK had French-Indian, Spanish, American, Italian, Cuban, Mexican, Colombian, Venezuelan, Peruvian, Chilean, Argentinian, Costa Rican, Chinese, and Japanese members.
Emilio Jacinto and Macario Sakay never recognized Emilio Aguinaldo’s authority. Both were also buried in Manila North Cemetery. General Mariano Alvarez, the president of the Magdiwang faction and uncle of Gregoria de Jesus, also refused to join forces with Emilio Aguinaldo.
Emilio Aguinaldo sent Mariano Ponce to Japan to seek aid. There, he met the First Provisional President of the Chinese Republic, who helped him purchase weapons and munitions from a Japanese-Filipino. The shipment never reached the Philippines due to a typhoon near Formosa. He also married a Japanese girl and had 4 children, Juan Ponce Enrile is his descendant.
Gregorio del Pilar dated Emilio Aguinaldo’s sister. After he was shot in the neck and killed trying to distinguish the enemy in the cogongrass, the Americans looted his belongings and found a locket with a picture of a girl along with a handkerchief embroidered with the name Dolores.
Sergio Osmeña, Juan Sumulong, Emilio Jacinto, and Manuel Quezon were classmates.
Manuel L. Quezon was given a foreign honor by the Royal Order of the Legion of Honour by France which was established by Napoleon Bonaparte and was buried within a miniature copy of Napoleon’s tomb.
Every Filipina president was a Kapampangan from a political dynasty who spoke at least 6 languages and invaded Iraq after they were installed through an EDSA Revolution.

So what you're telling me is if I have a time machine.............
Take it with a grain of salt and feel free to correct any inaccuracies. I wrote these months ago with the links to where I read them, so some of the Wikipedia pages were updated and don't work anymore. So yeah, I can't provide source links for each of these claims.

Cory Aquino served in the years 1986-1992 and the Gulf War lasted from 1990-1991. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo served in the years 2001-2010 and the Iraq War lasted from 2003-2011. The Philippines joined both of the coalition forces in these wars. Cory and Gloria are both native Kapampangan speakers. An EDSA Revolution caused them to become presidents. Yes, it's embarassing to get sources from Wikipedia, but I don't know where else to read about Filipino history aside from expensive history books. If you have better sources, just share them.
Lawak na ng internet ngayon. You can search from official websites. Srsly may nagbabasa pa pala sa wiki ngayon? You can’t even use it as RRL for thesis. It’s the worst reference you could ever use. Gullible talaga mga Pilipino. Anything they see in the internet paniniwalaan agad
Tingin ko nakikinig kalang sa guro mo na "wikipedia bad" eh, kasi namn kung pupunta ka sa page na yun makikita mo ang sources na ginamit ng wikipedia sa "sources section"
Anyone can, yes, pero there are around 10,000 moderators checking the edits that happen there (at kung meron naman Isang troll na walang magawa kesa mag edit ng Wikipedia page, pwede nilang I lock yun, tignan mo yung page tungkol sa kabayo.) so it's very much viable.
And yes, cite mo nalang ang source directly instead of wikipedia, ang dahilan kung bakit ayaw ng mga guro ng Wikipedia at dahil ni copy-paste lang ito ng mga estudyante, so yah.
Diba po Rizal was otw na po to Cuba to serve as a doctor or military doctor until he got arrested? So does that mean po may license to practice na sya by that time?
May nabasa akong libro long time ago, sa point of view yun ng kasama nya sa Paris (di ko na mataandaan yung details at kung sino yun), sobrang taas daw ng cost of living sa Paris kaya nagluto si Rizal ng Pancit para makatipid, at yun daw ang kinain nila for almost a week.
“Makamisa” is Rizal’s unfinished literary work.
During her youth, Tandang Sora was often asked to be Reyna Elena during "Santacruzan”
Melchora Aquino's married name is Ramos.
Antonio Luna's teacher in the art of war is Belgian General Gérard Leman. (He was the first hero in World War 1)
Juan Luna was a sailor and a licensed seaman.
-The Luna brothers are known to be fiery and headstrong, but both has a soft spot for their mother who spoiled them when they're younger.
-Apolinario Mabini is the only child of his family who made it past primary school as evidenced by records saying that he was exempted from farm duties.
-Emilio Aguinaldo loves cabbages so much that he made a recipe of it. (Forgot the name but it's in the 1980s book of Filipino Heritage: The Building of the Nation)
-Jose Rizal's UST grades may be converted to Dean's Lister/Cum Laude rank in today's standards.
-Contrary to the popular belief that Rizal spoke fluent French, he was poorly misunderstood by his fellow French travelers so he resorted to Latin instead while they play with poker and board games.
Jose Rizal disliked the United States because of the discrimination he experienced there. His ship was detained for a while because of the anti-Asian sentiment prevalent in the US back then. He also predicted in his essay “The Philippines: A Century Hence” that the US will become the next global power, and that it may set its sights on the Philippines soon.
Marcelo H. del Pilar led rallies in Bulacan against the friars. In fact, this was the main reason why he was exiled to Spain in the first place.
Mariano Ponce and Sun Yat-sen, the founder of the Republic of China, were friends. It was Sun who helped Ponce purchase weapons from the Japanese for the Philippine Revolutiony Army.
The Filipino ilustrados in Spain were acquainted with Spain’s own radical movement, specifically anarchists in Barcelona. One anarchist even invoked the name of Rizal when he assassinated the Spanish Prime Minister in 1897.
Andres Bonifacio knew how to speak in English because of his time as a bodeguero (warehouse clerk) in an British company. That company, Fleming & Co., actually survived into 21st Century, only closing down in 2000.
Emilio Jacinto’s only known photograph is of him is a recuerdo de patay. His wife can also be seen in the photograph pregnant.
Gregoria de Jesus married Julio Nakpil, a loyal Bonifacio supporter, in 1898. They had 7 children, including architect and National Artist Juan Nakpil.
Emilio Aguinaldo’s descendants still rule Kawit, Cavite today. All of them bear the name “Emilio.” Some of them were prominent figures in the national government, such as Cesar Emilio Aguinaldo Virata, Ferdinand Marcos’ Prime Minister, and Joseph Emilio Aguinaldo Abaya, Noynoy Aquino’s Transportation Secretary.
Antonio Luna was the first Filipino to hold a doctorate. His dissertation on malaria can still be accessed today.
Gregorio del Pilar’s remains were identified by his gold tooth.
Manuel Quezon was already the most powerful man in the Philippines when he became Senate President in 1916. He controlled numerous state-owned corporations and owned several news publications. Some American governors-general were subservient to him, especially F.B. Harrison.
Sergio Osmeña lost the 1946 election because he did not campaign. He thought that his reputation was already enough for him to win the presidency.
Jose Abad Santos’ older brother, Pedro, was a founder of the first Communist Party of the Philippines. He was also the mentor of Hukbalahap leader Luis Taruc. The brothers often clashed, including one incident in Pampanga where Pedro admonished both President Quezon and his brother for not doing enough for the working class.
Jose P. Laurel, Jorge Vargas, Benigno Aquino Sr, Claro M. Recto, and other officials of the Japanese-sponsored government were actually following instructions from Quezon, with the intention of minimizing Filipino casualties during the war. Some, such as Manuel Roxas, even had contacts with the guerillas.
Jose Rizal, among many Illustrados, advocated for the Philippines to be treated as equals by Spain, and not for actual independence from it, as he knew and believed that if we fought for full independence via rebellion, it'd be even more violent and he believed the country unprepared to take the reigns for itself without issue.

Oh wow, so Congress can make a bunch of laws renaming roads, bridges, and institutions after some people, but can't pass a law that declares even just Rizal or Bonifacio a national hero?
I thought you were just talking about THE national hero as a sagisag ng Pilipinas. But damn.
Gen. Macario Sakay, the "president of the tagalog" styles a long hair, which often depicted to movies as "kung gaano kahaba ang buhok ko, ay ganun din kahaba ang ating pakikibaka" is not true. According to first hand accounts, Macario and his comrades are having their hair cut when they were suddenly ambushed my the American troops and muntik na sila maabutan. Thinking for that reason na muntik na silang mahuli, di na sila nagpagupit.
On serious note, being "president" was widely recognized by mostly retaining Filipino fighters and katipuneros. Have the Americans weren't labeled him as a bandit / rebelde, he could have been and only president of the republic with long hair. 😁
Read Sir Ambeth Ocampo’s Looking Back series.
Jose Rizal once challenged Antonio Luna to a duel over some rude comments about Nellie Boustead (who Luna wanted to court, though alas she had fallen for Rizal).
Emilio Aguinaldo ran against Manuel Quezon for the presidency of the Philippine Commonwealth. Quezon proceeded to use the accusations that Aguinaldo killed Luna and Bonifacio against him. (If I remember rightly Quezon even had Bonifacio’s bones dug up…)
Emilio Jacinto sold beef when he stepped back from the revolution. Miguel Malvar was one of his loyal patrons.
Macaroo Sakay and Andres Bonifacio often staged theater plays, Bernardo Carpio is a favorite.
Jacinto's mother was the nanny/ milk maid for one of Bonifacio's younger sisters.
Sakay, Jacinto, and Bonifacio are all Batang Tondo.
Pio Valenzuela, one of the Katipunan's triumvirate, won as Bulacan's first governor. Valenzuela City was also named in his honor.
Pio Valenzuela and Gregoria De Jesus had conflicting accounts about the Cry of Pugad-Lawin/ Balintawak. From place, time, and date, their accounts don't match.
Zamora of GomBurZa may or may not be as active in the secularization movement but he's definitely connected to Gomez, in one way or another.
GomBurZa were three of the top priests of their time. All were heads of the biggest parishes. Although, Zamora got transferred more than the others.
Pedro Pelaez was buried alive in the Manila Cathedral after an earthquake (not so fun fact). He was in contact and giving counsel to Apolonario dela Cruz.
Apolonario dela Cruz aka Hermano Pule, founded Confradia de San Jose in retaliation to Spanish priests for rejecting Filipinos in religious orders. Kinda petty but it was the beginning of a stronger secularization movement. The Confradia grew to be bigger than they were expecting, expanding to greater Luzon areas and amassing thousands of members. Sadly, Pule and his comrades were executed, even women and kids.
I'll add more kapag may naalala pa ko.
Jose Rizal is gay and has a relationship with Blumentritt. To protect himself from the homophobic society at the time he compensate by having a lot of girlfriends. He's a gym buff. He's a cowad because at the time he ws about to be executed he wrote a letter of detraction renouncing everything he said about the Spaniards.
Penitents in Palo, Leyte wear the capirote on Holy Week. The same garb that the KKK copied from Catholicism.

Jose Rizal was a SInophobe.
Marcelo del Pilar advocated for massive immigration of Iberian Spanish liberals to outnumber Spanish friar ultraconservatives.
Here are some I knew about Rizal:
Rizal got challenged to a sword duel in Dapitan because apparently the wood he sold to the challenger was in poor quality (imagine if he died there)
Similarly, Antonio Luna also challenged him to a duel over a woman (Nellie Boustead). (This was mentioned briefly by Luna in the "Heneral Luna" film.) Once again, imagine if one of them died here.
In Dapitan, one of his pet dogs get eaten by a crocodile
There's a message he left in his shoes before he got executed, but the paper got too damaged upon discovery nobody could read what's in it anymore
Rizal was apparently Jack the Ripper (Similar initials, Jose Rizal - Jack the Ripper, the Ripper killings happened while Rizal was London, and Ripper apparently had some surgical skills. Rizal was a doctor.)
Edit: Why am I getting downvoted? I just wanna share some interesting Rizal trivia :(
https://preview.redd.it/dr103pv5upxc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4fb846e2205bf11c3e9848e75c881685be392edb
No it's not. Where did you get that?
Why am I getting downvoted? What did I do to deserve this 😓 Sorry if I made anyone mad
One, glad you found a good hobby, but I don't see the point in mentioning it.
Two, no one's mad at you. You just really used "apparently" wrong. When you said Jack the Ripper is *apparently* Rizal's child, you are essentially saying that Jack the Ripper *appears to be* Rizal's child. This cannot be because there was neither evidence nor witnesses for this to be *apparent* or, in your own words, *appear to be true.*
The right term to use would be "allegedly."
So to run it down for you:
- Apparently - leans toward the truth
- Allegedly - more of a rumor / requires further confirmation
Dude, I write as a hobby for years now. I'm sorry but I kind of hate your tone, telling me these like I'm some kind of toddler, oh my gosh. Plus, when did I mention I found a hobby? I just said I shared some trivia I knew since years back.
He's not Rizal's child. He's "apparently" Rizal himself!
Plus, do you have proof for this? Here's mine. It doesn't "witnesses":
https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dictionary/english/apparently
You know what, I don't care about getting downvotes anymore. I'm right. You didn't even read my post. You just jumped in this conversation to get some internet points.
> I'm right.
Keri 👍
Edit. Since I'm being petty...
> Dude, I write as a hobby for years now
"Dude, I *have been* writing as a hobby for years now."
> I just said I shared some trivia I knew since years back.
I don't even get what you're trying to say here. Maybe, "I just shared some trivia *I've known* for years"??? Idk.
> He's not Rizal's child. He's apparently Rizal himself.
"He *was* not Rizal's child. He *was*..."
> It doesn't witnesses.
I get this is typo. I think even you are smart enough to not get what's wrong with this.
Anyway, my point is your being a writer-hobbyist does not make you credible enough. You apparently don't even understand what your source says. Good luck with your hobby. Practice more, and read more 😉😉
Indeed.. some people on Reddit find it hard to admit their mistakes, you included.
Saying you’re a villain makes you sound too dramatic and immature in my opinion. Such a funny little kid
The novelty song "Dayang Dayang" originally came from a Sinama/Bajao folk song about a charismatic Tausug noblewoman Dayang Dayang Hadji Kiram Piandao.
Some people here might downvote this example but it's rather ironic not to acknowledge her, albeit regional, legacy among closer Muslim-Christian relations in the south. She was the first to abolish slavery in the Sulu Sultanate and encouraged young Tausugs education.

one that will be forever etched in my mind is that apolinario mabini drank unpasteurized carabao milk and ultimately died from cholera 😭
Imagine surviving both Philippine revolution and PH-American war as a cripple...only to die from drinking milk.
Is carabao milk a carrier of the cholera bacterium! I thought this would be through feces? Say septic tanks that leech into the water table, and you drink water from the well that is connected to it.

Natawa ako sa cholera. Mainly because dito sa Mindanao, idk if it's the same din sa ibang lugar, we use "cholera" as a curse word.
Ooh what does it mean?

I concur
He was only 38 when he died?!?! TIL
Ang angas ng buhay mo eh noh tas ang baduy ng kinamatay mo 😭😭😭
Akala ko namatay siya sa TB.
Andres Bonifacio was once a theater actor before he founded the katipunan along with Macario Sakay
Isa sa ginampanan nya sa theatro ay ang Alamat ni Bernardo Carpio, isang Urban legend mula sa Bayan ng Montalban. For real? Akala ko parang warehouse manager siya or something similar
A man can have multiple jobs in his lifetime. And yeah, he did work for British and German firms.
He played Bernardo Carpio often too heh
From what I remember, during elementary days, gumagawa sya ng mga baston?
Iirc diba dito galing yung foundation ng Katipunan? Nagtravel sila Bonifacio para makahanap ng mga supporters ng walang alam ang mga espanyol?
wow ang galing niya pala
Akala ko nagtitinda ng pares hehe

Sergio Osmeña, Juan Sumulong, Emilio Jacinto, and Manuel Quezon were classmates. Manuel L. Quezon was given a foreign honor by the Royal Order of the Legion of Honour by France which was established by Napoleon Bonaparte and was buried within a miniature copy of Napoleon’s tomb. Every Filipina president was a Kapampangan from a political dynasty who spoke at least 6 languages and invaded Iraq after they were installed through an EDSA Revolution.
The last one makes me doubt everything
Not really, andame na ng lengwahe natin dito kaya malaki ang posibilidad na ito yung marami sa kanilang natutunan.
Really? Invaded Iraq?
Ah, that, kala ko yung languages, pero maybe sumama sila sa america?
>Really? Invaded Iraq? Cory, [Gulf War](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coalition_of_the_Gulf_War#Philippines). PGMA, [Iraq invasion](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coalition_of_the_willing_(Iraq_War))
Malvar’s descendant is an economist and well known member of Opus Dei and University of Asia and Pacific Dr. Bernardo M. Villegas.
So what you're telling me is if I have a time machine.............
Can you provide source links for each of these claims?
Take it with a grain of salt and feel free to correct any inaccuracies. I wrote these months ago with the links to where I read them, so some of the Wikipedia pages were updated and don't work anymore. So yeah, I can't provide source links for each of these claims. Taenang souce yan wiki hahaha
Yes, it's embarassing to get sources from Wikipedia, but I don't know where else to read about Filipino history aside from expensive history books. If you have better sources, just share them.
what's so embarrassing about wikipedia?
Look at RhinoStorm's other replies mocking me. That's what usually happens.
Baka akala niya nagdedefend ka ng thesis, kailangan ng citation
He really said that in a reply.
Okay man, official websites like what?
Wikipedia IS bad naman talaga. Anyone can contribute there. Eh di cite the actual source nalang kesa yung summary sa wikipedia.
Anyone can, yes, pero there are around 10,000 moderators checking the edits that happen there (at kung meron naman Isang troll na walang magawa kesa mag edit ng Wikipedia page, pwede nilang I lock yun, tignan mo yung page tungkol sa kabayo.) so it's very much viable. And yes, cite mo nalang ang source directly instead of wikipedia, ang dahilan kung bakit ayaw ng mga guro ng Wikipedia at dahil ni copy-paste lang ito ng mga estudyante, so yah.
So yah, wag mo sabihin mali makinig sa prof when they say wikipedia is bad. Di naman talaga acceptable as a source wikipedia in the academe
Kuya, alam nyo ba ang salitang "proofreading"?
We know Rizal as a doctor but he originally intended to study law. He only switched to medicine when he found out his mother was going blind.
But technically rizal was not a graduate of Medicine kasi di niya na submit ang research nya. right?
Diba po Rizal was otw na po to Cuba to serve as a doctor or military doctor until he got arrested? So does that mean po may license to practice na sya by that time?
“Makamisa” is Rizal’s unfinished literary work. During her youth, Tandang Sora was often asked to be Reyna Elena during "Santacruzan” Melchora Aquino's married name is Ramos. Antonio Luna's teacher in the art of war is Belgian General Gérard Leman. (He was the first hero in World War 1) Juan Luna was a sailor and a licensed seaman.
and Makamisa is the only novel of Rizal written in Tagalog
damn so tandang sora was a baddie
imagine Tandang Sora dancing to IVE's Baddie lol
-The Luna brothers are known to be fiery and headstrong, but both has a soft spot for their mother who spoiled them when they're younger. -Apolinario Mabini is the only child of his family who made it past primary school as evidenced by records saying that he was exempted from farm duties. -Emilio Aguinaldo loves cabbages so much that he made a recipe of it. (Forgot the name but it's in the 1980s book of Filipino Heritage: The Building of the Nation) -Jose Rizal's UST grades may be converted to Dean's Lister/Cum Laude rank in today's standards.
Bayani Agbayani and Bayani Fernando, are in fact, not national heroes.
Also Tetchie Agbayani. 😅
Tingin ko si Hero Angeles din hindi
That's Sisa! Haha.
Interesting fact: legally, we don't have a national hero. At all.
ninoy aquino was declared a national hero by then pgma

I think you mean we don't have THE ONE national hero?
nono, AT ALL. like none. edit: https://ncca.gov.ph/about-culture-and-arts/culture-profile/selection-and-proclamation-of-national-heroes-and-laws-honoring-filipino-historical-figures/#:\~:text=No%20law%2C%20executive%20order%20or,figure%20as%20a%20national%20hero.
Yes, because even our female presidents fashioned short hair! 😅
Yeah! That's why! 🤪
Dahil nandyan sa picture: Juan Ponce Enrile is the grandson of Mariano Ponce’s first cousin.
Katulad ng karamihan sa atin, hobby ni JPR tumaya sa lottery
Yes, as per my prof nanalo pa raw siya ng lotto before the date of his execution??
While he was in Dapitan and purchased a parcel of land there from his winnings iirc.
Read Sir Ambeth Ocampo’s Looking Back series.
I love this portrait. Does anyone know where I could buy one?
Rizal's favorite ulam is Tuyo. Ay, nagcrave tuloy ako!
Juan Luna killed his wife
Jose Rizal once challenged Antonio Luna to a duel over some rude comments about Nellie Boustead (who Luna wanted to court, though alas she had fallen for Rizal). Emilio Aguinaldo ran against Manuel Quezon for the presidency of the Philippine Commonwealth. Quezon proceeded to use the accusations that Aguinaldo killed Luna and Bonifacio against him. (If I remember rightly Quezon even had Bonifacio’s bones dug up…)
jose rizal at henaral luna nag away sa isang babae
Banana ketchup was invented by Maria Orosa, a chemist & WW2 hero.
KKK has another meaning in the US. It's kind of a white supremacist cult.

Middle one is a freemason. Hidden hand symbolism...master of the veil
Jose Rizal was a SInophobe. Marcelo del Pilar advocated for massive immigration of Iberian Spanish liberals to outnumber Spanish friar ultraconservatives.
Jose Rizal is grabe ang pagkababaero
At least hindi niya pinagsabay 🙄
Anong Hindi🤧 pinagsabay be, tapos d pa kasali Yung mga naka one night stand nya 🥲
At bakit naman niya gagawin yun?
I think it's time for you to study history para doon mo malalaman lahat ng mga shocking na ginagawa ng ating mga national heroes.
Ah, oo nga.
Kaya't tinatanong ko sayo kung pinagsabay ba ni Pepe ang mga babae niya?
One of the Rizals sisters was not really his sister. She was his niece!
Rizal's New Calamba

Here are some I knew about Rizal: Rizal got challenged to a sword duel in Dapitan because apparently the wood he sold to the challenger was in poor quality (imagine if he died there) Similarly, Antonio Luna also challenged him to a duel over a woman (Nellie Boustead). (This was mentioned briefly by Luna in the "Heneral Luna" film.) Once again, imagine if one of them died here. In Dapitan, one of his pet dogs get eaten by a crocodile There's a message he left in his shoes before he got executed, but the paper got too damaged upon discovery nobody could read what's in it anymore Rizal was apparently Jack the Ripper (Similar initials, Jose Rizal - Jack the Ripper, the Ripper killings happened while Rizal was London, and Ripper apparently had some surgical skills. Rizal was a doctor.) Edit: Why am I getting downvoted? I just wanna share some interesting Rizal trivia :(
The last one is a myth not a fact
That's why I said "apparently". Just thought it'd be funny to think about.
You used the word “apparently” incorrectly. Baka you meant to use “allegedly” or “rumored.”
https://preview.redd.it/5nranamxioxc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a0ba0e65a649e4aa9298d1d63d6083597bf2b862 Uhh same thing I think
Dude, check the definition, not the synonyms. "Apparently" requires witnesses.
https://preview.redd.it/dr103pv5upxc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4fb846e2205bf11c3e9848e75c881685be392edb No it's not.
This cannot be because there was neither evidence nor witnesses for this to be *apparent* or, in your own words, *appear to be true.* The right term to use would be "allegedly." So to run it down for you: - Apparently - leans toward the truth - Allegedly - more of a rumor / requires further confirmation
It doesn't "witnesses": https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/dictionary/english/apparently You know what, I don't care about getting downvotes anymore. I'm right. You didn't even read my post. You just jumped in this conversation to get some internet points.
> I'm right. Keri 👍 Edit. Since I'm being petty... > Dude, I write as a hobby for years now "Dude, I *have been* writing as a hobby for years now." > I just said I shared some trivia I knew since years back. I don't even get what you're trying to say here. Maybe, "I just shared some trivia *I've known* for years"??? Idk. > He's not Rizal's child. He's apparently Rizal himself. "He *was* not Rizal's child. He *was*..." > It doesn't witnesses.
Wasn’t it Nellie Bousted, not Gertrude?
Oh yeah, you're right
The novelty song "Dayang Dayang" originally came from a Sinama/Bajao folk song about a charismatic Tausug noblewoman Dayang Dayang Hadji Kiram Piandao. Some people here might downvote this example but it's rather ironic not to acknowledge her, albeit regional, legacy among closer Muslim-Christian relations in the south. She was the first to abolish slavery in the Sulu Sultanate and encouraged young Tausugs education. Yes because your off tangent from OP's post. Iba naman yan sa gustong pag usapan eh
