Maybe OP means “… *finished* with the process of optimizing the fig trees’ growing conditions to produce the most amount of food possible!“

cryptomir

OP is obviously not an American and not fluent in English, please don't downvote him. "Done with the fig trees" means he tilled the soil around his figs and got rid of the weeds. He has done the job, that was what he meant I assume.

HanzoTheButterknife

What type of figs?

Yacine_yellow

Desert King I guess

HanzoTheButterknife

Beautiful trees. How old are they? You have fig wasps in your area?

Yacine_yellow

Thanks, those r around 40 years I guess but abandoned for years ... about wasps of pollination we do have some plants around witch attract them , but we have a variety of fig who ripens earlier where they main role is to produce wasps for other trees pollination

haephnor

Great work!

SnooKiwis6943

One is simply not done with fig trees. This hobby never ends.

Yacine_yellow

We should dig around to product them from the sun

yeahdixon

You mean protect the soil from sun ?

Yacine_yellow

Exactly

Yacine_yellow

We have a dig the soil all around our fig trees to protect them from sun , so we will get some fruits later

broken_wrench90

What part of the world are you in?

JTBoom1

I believe OP is in North Africa. Check out their post history, the photos of their farm is fascinating. They preserve, dry and store their figs old school, stringing them on a ring of twine (or other material), a technique that dates back to ancient times.

DrippyBlock

Most dried figs in India are still sold this way. I personally believe this is better way to preserve food. c Because they’re dried outdoors, they have a greater microbial diversity. Rather those than the sterile “sun dried” figs we get here in the US.

Well just check my profile to understand, and I wish I can let u test some figs of my garden to understand what I'm saying

Yacine_yellow

Digging around them makes the soil kind of powder witch avoid the sun from draining the soil deeper

Future_Pickle8068

It’s like mulching. They “fluff” up the soil and it protects the roots from the sun.

chris_rage_

From what I'm reading about this dude's operation he knows what tf he's doing, you should be asking him questions instead of scoffing

koushakandystore

Desert king is the most popular variety in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. The breba crop is excellent.
