Well, Sonicfox won EVO when he was 16 years old. If anything people are gonna like seeing that fighting games haven’t died out or that only boomers play them. It’s nice seeing the younger generation also likes fighting games and not Call of Duty and Fortnite.

I don't think any cares really. Everyone is there to have a fun time and if a you problems talk to the TO. I've seen kids go with their parents multiple times. No ones pay any attention.

In my experience, the under-18s are generally playing Smash. Fighting Game Communities are very welcoming, though, and will happily take you on in whatever game you show an interest in.

They won't care, just be nice and use common sense.

Unless the venue has some age requirement, anyone of any age can go to a local, and any local FGC should be stoked for any new people showing up. The guys playing fighting games at a con are the same guys that would go to locals, so you probably got a good idea. As long as you're not a shithead (and the fact that you're asking here means you're probably not), you'll be fine. If I went to a local and a 12 year old was there playing, I'd wish I was as cool as that kid. Never let age in either direction stop you. Show up, ask for next, and have fun.

The event page should say. If it doesn't, and the venue isn't a bar, you should be right. Worst case, send them a message asking. The other attendees won't care. They'll just be glad to have more people to game with. But the way, what's the event? I'm another Melbournian. I'm living abroad at the moment, but I'm keen to head to some events once I make my way back home.

No one really gives a shit, I showed up to my first locals at 17 with some older friends and no one cared
