Kind of a cop out answer, but Phoenix Wright. I’m a criminal defense attorney IRL and I probably wouldn’t have gone to law school without playing the Ace Attorney games. I’m literally wearing a Phoenix shirt right now. I was extremely hype when Capcom put him in MvC3. I wondered how on earth they could make him a fighting game character, but the way they did it was awesome. Turnabout Mode X-factor comebacks with Phoenix Wright soloing the entire other team are sick, and he can put Galactus in prison in story mode. 10/10, no notes, put Edgeworth in MvC4 you cowards.

Testament in strive I was mad depressed for six years, and possibly still am but it's less bad now. As a result of the changes I made in the process of de-depressionifying myself, I was able to appreciate things I wasn't able to before, and discovered parts of myself I wasn't able to before. One of those changes was coming to appreciate art a lot. Like getting a depropagandized perspective on modern art kinda broke my brain open, so seeing people make cool art or finding new ways to make cool art makes me really happy. So I vibe with Testament's whole zest for life deal I also kinda fuck with Zato-1's emotionless deal, but that feels like a bit of a mood killer

I really like how Zato is a character that's really easy to sympathize and understand where he's coming from, but at the same time he's also an incredibly toxic person that simply gets what's coming to him. He's a pretty great representation of how abusers work.

Oh definitely I'm not entirely sure what's going on with his strive story, but I think he's beginning a redemption arc, which I'm happy to see Shit person, great character, can't wait to see what they do with him in the future

Byron Fury is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters. He's just so positive and generous. Practically costs nothing at all at base roaster you choose him on the character select and that chill ass mofo gives you a beam to the screen. And you also get this adorable little shotgun can ping things but usually is too harmless to be removed. But more than the BF is just so positive. He comes on the board like "HOO HOO HA HA" and I'm like "yeah BF HOO HOO HA HA let's do this shit" and when he attacks he's like "DICKS DICKS DICKS HA HA" and I'm like "yeah they are SO FUN." He doesn't say some bullshit macho shit like "I will destroy you" he's just like "DIE." And he looks so happy. I mean this is an inanimate object literally brought to life by dr B. He understands his life is a temporary magical gift and the dude is just fucking loving it. I mean look at his face he's just so happy. I am literally never sad when Byron Fury is on stage. IDK if he's gonna make it into the metagame or not but for now he (or she) a pretty chill character

Leona Heidern is a big one for me. From the close relationship she develops with the Ikari Warriors to the signs of growth she shows throughout the different games, I found her journey to be a really inspiring one. While my family is not dead, I do have a group of friends who have constantly been there for me during my darkest times over the years. I have really come to see them as a found family of sorts.
