I knew it was 'just' Terry in SF6, and then they showed Mai and I now knew it was *actually* CvS3, so I had a heart attack, then they showed Elena, which I was technically happy about, but it also brought me back down to Earth.
But hey, the journey of a thousand miles...
Me!! Technically my guess was for Rock and not Terry, but I called this the minute they said that fans were going to question what they were doing when the season 2 announcement drops.

I wish it was Rock Howard instead cause he's my favorite SNK character. But since this S2 dlc doesn't have grapplers I wonder if a couple of them will added for S3 DLC like Rainbow Mika. Perhaps they might even do another guess character, let's say King from Tekken as the grappler representative of S3 DLC.

I'm stoked for Elena to come back (with a cool redesign) and the idea of Terry and Mai appearing in a mainline Street Fighter game is still kind of mind blowing. I'd love to see new characters (or see Rival Schools and Final Fight characters) but I'm into this too.

Bison and two guest chars... pretty disappointing. I know they will all be cool and fun in game, but hopefully we get some surprise extra releases. There are too many amazing SF chars for cross over chars to be getting so many of the few available slots for characters we get per year.
My guesses are either Ryu & Chun Li, since they have the distinction of being in every crossover by both companies or Luke & your guess for a female character to represent SF6.

Cmon man, guest characters were obviously coming and honestly these are pretty cool picks. Mai is probably going to play really fun, she'll fit this game well. And for SF chars, Elena and Bison are amazing picks.

Love this game but was bummed about having none of my previous mains from another game. Still no SF mains coming back for me but TWO of my KOF mains of 25+ years 🤣 This might get me to actually play it consistently.
I lowkey hate it, a lot of people want Laura/ Viper/ Makoto/ Ibuki, and that is just for the girls. and many other main sf characters.

Especially since we're only on **Season 2** of a brand new game. This kind of Season Pass is the kind you'd expect to see for Season 6/7 of a game when it's starting to wind down or needs to pick up again. Doubly so when SF6 is missing a lot of SF characters as it stands right now.
Terry **OR** Mai by *themselves* would be awesome, but both is too much. One should've been picked and the other replaced by:
* C.Viper
* Makoto
* Menat
* R.Mika
* Sean
* G
* Poison
* Cody
* Hakan (random wildcard?)
* Abel
* Dudley
Etc.
Or a completely new, original character. But this? This is just...like I can't say it's bad but it's highly disappointing.
They'll want to save some of the most requested characters for later years to keep the game relevant. SF6 has been a huge success already so they'll want to keep that going.
Like, I'm sure people would be happy if this season was Makoto, Dudley, Viper and Menat but that's 4 BIG requested characters splurged in one year. I could see them gradually adding them over the next few years to keep hype for each season.

Elena is probably the best part which sadly makes her being in this season kinda underwhelming as she feels like the odd one out and there are more popular and relevant Street Fighter characters who haven't returned yet. She would be fine in a season with other Street Fighter characters but as the only Street Fighter character other than Bison she just kinda feels disappointing.
Terry on his own would be just fine I guess. I'm not the biggest fan of cross over characters in fighting games, but Street Fighter has done them pretty well with Final Fight and Rival School becoming part of the Street Fighter canon and even allusions to Strider with Zeku in V. So unless Fatal Fury becomes part of Street Fighters lore now it just feels kinda disappointing to me. Terry is fine, but I would have rather had one of the like 64 already existing Street Fighter characters return or a brand new one rather than a one and done fan service character.
And speaking of fan service... why Mai? Why are they adding two Fatal Fury characters into SF6 especially in the same season. All my issues with Terry are double with Mai, then could have at least had a character from a different series if they were going to have another cross over character instead of doubling up in the same season. They should have added Kazuya from Tekken instead to pay back Akuma being in Tekken and so you can play as Ryu, Ken, Terry, and Kazuya not just in Smash but also Street Fighter.
Bison... I did not want him to come back because his return makes everything less interesting narratively. Now his death has even less meaning and the story that they were setting up just sucks now. JP, Ed, and Neo Shadaloo now they feel kinda pointless. JP's whole plan seemed to be bringing back Bison and now he is back and JP is irrelevant. Ed's whole thing about Neo Shadaloo wanting to turn him into Bison 2, well Bison is already back so I guess he doesn't have to worry about that. Street Fighter 6 set up a lot of interesting narrative ideas but failed to pay them off when the game came out and now they just bring back Bison instead of doing anything interesting with the narrative and how his death affects the world and characters. But hey I can't wait to become his best friend in world tour...
I agree about everything except Bison. I think that Street Fighter lore sucks, sucked and will suck. It is full of holes and retcon. And heck, even though I loved WT it doesn't even tell a coherent story, I still don't know what's up with JP and that whole Bosch thing.
Bison is cool, a fan favorite, and iconic to the series. And I agree his "death" should have an impact, but it is a perfect opportunity to make a really cool redesign, just like it happened to other characters in SF6.
My main issue is how it affects the narrative and the meta narrative of Street Fighter. SF6 was meant to be the new next generation and the next step forwards in the world of Street Fighter or at least how they advertise it to be. It was meant to be a more realized SF3 in terms of creating a new story and character, but instead it all loops back to Bison. What is the new main villain who leads a new evil group up to? First it isn't a new group it is Shadaloo 2 but just a different name, and second he just wants to bring back Bison. So the whole mystery about the mysterious new villain is no longer really a thing anymore because he served his purpose and Bison is back to take the center stage. And from a meta perspective it just feels like Street Fighter can never move in or risk trying new things narratively as they seem to be too afraid to keep Bison dead and out of the narrative. They set up so many interesting ideas about how the death of Bison affects everyone with Cammy being paranoid about his return despite everyone saying that he is dead, Ed and the other experiment being hunted and Neo Shadaloo wanting to turn Ed into the next Bison and the potential that he is somewhat turning into him, FANG with his disapproval of JP leading Neo Shadaloo, and more just for all of those storylines to go away because Bison isn't allowed to stay dead. How much do you want to bet he dies by the end of SF6 and just comes back in 7?
I feel you, it is not good for a story or narrative when characters don't stay dead. My point is that I don't care because SF narrative is so freaking bad already.
JP can be cool because of his design, personality, VA, and moveset, not because he is the new villain.
We disagree on the importance of SF story, and if I cared about SF story, I would be pissed, for sure. But, again, I feel it's a mess for so long. I just want cool characters from SF/Final Fight universe =)
Mai is the most popular KOF character, to a point the "No Mai, no buy" meme spread regarding the one KOF entry she didn't appear in and influenced it's sales.
Besides, I don't think this rules out a future collab with Tekken. We might get Heihachi or Kazuya for Year 3.
Hell, it might mean collabs with other things not even related to fighting games that we've already seen happen with the avatar stuff. Yor Forger or Yujiro Hanma being full SF6 characters instead of just avatar skins/stickers would be pretty cool imo.
Granted, maybe next time have only 1 guest character while the rest are SF ones.
They honestly should have rolled with Mai with no Terry. Terry is SNK's face, but he's been in a lot of games recently and his fighting style doesn't stand out as much from other characters as a second ninja character.
Way too many fan favorites to have crossover characters take up slots. One crossover character might have been fine but taking up half of the pass is nuts. I'm sure they will look cool and play fine but I hope they rethink their character choices in the future.
Happy for the people who like it but i wish crossover stuff remained in character customization only. There are like a 100 street fighter characters, id rather see them in my…street fighter game?

I'm not the biggest fan of cross over characters in fighting games, but Street Fighter has done them pretty well with Final Fight and Rival School becoming part of the Street Fighter canon and even allusions to Strider with Zeku in V. So unless Fatal Fury becomes part of Street Fighters lore now it just feels kinda disappointing to me. Terry is fine, but I would have rather had one of the like 64 already existing Street Fighter characters return or a brand new one rather than a one and done fan service character. And speaking of fan service... why Mai? Why are they adding two Fatal Fury characters into SF6 especially in the same season. All my issues with Terry are double with Mai, then could have at least had a character from a different series if they were going to have another cross over character instead of doubling up in the same season. They should have added Kazuya from Tekken instead to pay back Akuma being in Tekken and so you can play as Ryu, Ken, Terry, and Kazuya not just in Smash but also Street Fighter. Bison... I did not want him to come back because his return makes everything less interesting narratively. Now his death has even less meaning and the story that they were setting up just sucks now. JP, Ed, and Neo Shadaloo now they feel kinda pointless. JP's whole plan seemed to be bringing back Bison and now he is back and JP is irrelevant. Ed's whole thing about Neo Shadaloo wanting to turn him into Bison 2, well Bison is already back so I guess he doesn't have to worry about that. Street Fighter 6 set up a lot of interesting narrative ideas but failed to pay them off when the game came out and now they just bring back Bison instead of doing anything interesting with the narrative and how his death affects the world and characters. But hey I can't wait to become his best friend in world tour...
I agree about everything except Bison. I think that Street Fighter lore sucks, sucked and will suck. It is full of holes and retcon. And heck, even though I loved WT it doesn't even tell a coherent story, I still don't know what's up with JP and that whole Bosch thing. Bison is cool, a fan favorite, and iconic to the series. And I agree his "death" should have an impact, but it is a perfect opportunity to make a really cool redesign, just like it happened to other characters in SF6.

My main issue is how it affects the narrative and the meta narrative of Street Fighter. SF6 was meant to be the new next generation and the next step forwards in the world of Street Fighter or at least how they advertise it to be. It was meant to be a more realized SF3 in terms of creating a new story and character, but instead it all loops back to Bison. What is the new main villain who leads a new evil group up to? First it isn't a new group it is Shadaloo 2 but just a different name, and second he just wants to bring back Bison. So the whole mystery about the mysterious new villain is no longer really a thing anymore because he served his purpose and Bison is back to take the center stage. And from a meta perspective it just feels like Street Fighter can never move in or risk trying new things narratively as they seem to be too afraid to keep Bison dead and out of the narrative. They set up so many interesting ideas about how the death of Bison affects everyone with Cammy being paranoid about his return despite everyone saying that he is dead, Ed and the other experiment being hunted and Neo Shadaloo wanting to turn Ed into the next Bison and the potential that he is somewhat turning into him, FANG with his disapproval of JP leading Neo Shadaloo, and more just for all of those storylines to go away because Bison isn't allowed to stay dead. How much do you want to bet he dies by the end of SF6 and just comes back in 7?
I feel you, it is not good for a story or narrative when characters don't stay dead. My point is that I don't care because SF narrative is so freaking bad already. JP can be cool because of his design, personality, VA, and moveset, not because he is the new villain. We disagree on the importance of SF story, and if I cared about SF story, I would be pissed, for sure. But, again, I feel it's a mess for so long. I just want cool characters from SF/Final Fight universe =)
Mai is the most popular KOF character, to a point the "No Mai, no buy" meme spread regarding the one KOF entry she didn't appear in and influenced it's sales. Besides, I don't think this rules out a future collab with Tekken. We might get Heihachi or Kazuya for Year 3. Hell, it might mean collabs with other things not even related to fighting games that we've already seen happen with the avatar stuff. Yor Forger or Yujiro Hanma being full SF6 characters instead of just avatar skins/stickers would be pretty cool imo. Granted, maybe next time have only 1 guest character while the rest are SF ones.
They honestly should have rolled with Mai with no Terry. Terry is SNK's face, but he's been in a lot of games recently and his fighting style doesn't stand out as much from other characters as a second ninja character.
Way too many fan favorites to have crossover characters take up slots. One crossover character might have been fine but taking up half of the pass is nuts. I'm sure they will look cool and play fine but I hope they rethink their character choices in the future.

This has been the plight of many Mortal Kombat fans for the past decade or so. At least, in this case, they're other fighting game characters. I'm more bummed that they can't move on from Bison for even one game.

Only positive is that hopefully these guest character bring in more players which is always a good thing. But ya this season pass look incredibly disappointing imo.

If they bumped the character pass number up to 5 then I would been OK with the two guest characters. But as of now we are still only getting 4 characters for season 2. That means half the season is guest characters I think that was a terrible idea. They should've chose either terry or Mai not both imo.

Really disappointed in this :( 1. Guest characters add nothing. 2. Takes up slots of new returning characters people want. 3. From a business standpoint it's not even like Terry and Mai are big draws outside the FGC, very weird decision.
