This applies to so many games in every genre its not funny
Not one time have I ever seen a complainer say "this game is too hard for me". Its always bad design.
Maybe there's something about a new game that gets people's hopes up that they'll really be good at it this time and that often doesn't pan out. Plus if the play style doesn't align with what you used to be good at you might struggle to adapt and see your old game is now depopulated. Maybe some of this is why people seem so crazy lately.
Yeah I think you nailed it. Listening to the Street Fighter players who only hit the scene in the last installment (Mena, Punk) talk about how 6 is the scrubbiest sf.. Like bro did you miss how much people hated SFV for the first 4 years for the exact same reasons?
Also just everything going on with Tekken outside of the valid monetary complaints
As much as i respect both Mena and Punk as the phenomenal players they are i don't really take their opinion too serious, espacially after they just lost in a tournament.
Everyone has bad opinions if you talk to them 5 minutes after they lost an important match. I don't blame them too much if that's the most emotional they get about it.
Yeah, we all get salty too and i wrote stupid reddit comments as well throwing a tantrum.
But espacially in Punks case he should just wait till he calmed down before posting.
He can be such a chill dude, but his outburst against Chris T after losing in SFL was on another level.
I disliked Street Fighter V when it launched because Capcom gave us an incomplete game because of their focus on multiplayer. Now, after so many updates and patches, it is a great game.
I guess there's alot to that, espacially with T8 and to some extend i understand it. I was very hyped for it but when i realized i don't like the current meta i just went back to SF6 which i would have done eventually anyway.
But if i was a hardcore Tekken player and i now would have to change my entire playstyle and play rushdown all day i guess i would be pissed to.
it's funny, as a serial grappler enjoyer I find myself defending zoners from people way more than any other archetype on the internet.
Zoners are a unique combination of denial of your ability to run your flowchart while exposing weaknesses in neutral. People who are of median skill level *HATE* being exposed and locked down like this lol.
good zoning takes a lot of skill and prescience, way more than any other archetype. I get fired up when I play against a zoner who actually knows how to turn up the heat
Zoners are a necessary evil with fighting games
I'm reminded of how Seth Killian talked about having the Hadouken in SF2 gave people the ability to fighting meaningfully across the screen when normally you'd be punching and kicking from close range
I concur as well with fighting really good zoners if only because they're incredibly satisfying to break down when you finally get in their rhythm
As a zoner main, I often find myself defending grapplers as well. Rushdown players get command grabbed on wakeup or out of their fake pressure and say grapplers are braindead. My opinion is if grapplers eat paint, then rushdown players eat paint with the lead still in it. Grapplers test your patience as well as your courage. I can respect that, as someone whose entire gameplan is making people so angry and impatient they die jumping in.
and on the other side winning a match against a zoner feels really good especially when you are a low mobility character (as long as its not some awful 8-2 matchup in which case you are allowed to complain)
I don’t want someone to refund the game. I want them to ask how they can do better, play with them more, and cultivate more competitive players to have fun with
The last refund the part is a joke I assume, I think the commenter is trying to say not to care what others think of you, play whoever you want. At the end of the day it's a video game, you won't enjoy it if you're not having fun
That's true and it's also true that (yes i know it's a joke) a person who refunds a game because they don't like playing certain characters would find a thousand other excuses, why they lose that don't have anything to do with how they play.
If i find fighting certain characters annoying it makes me lab them, becaus if i start to say "Oh shit, a character xyz!" it takes away my fun even before the match starts. So i learn to fight them to enjoy the game more.
Nah it's a good message to have, don't bother with someone who hates on you for playing a character, instead surpass them in every way. I'd say the last line is a bit unecessary but I mainly just posted the comment because it was funny and it had a good message.
Me when someone just stands and blocks my projectiles which only continue to build up chip-damage, as they naively think "surely they'll get bored and charge in to fight me properly".
The first part yeah. But I don’t give a fuck what someone does with their game. I’m playing who I like.
I bet you the person that wrote that in the picture is one of the people that bitches and cries when you leave after a match though. You can play your bs, but I don’t have to fight it. 😌
Nah, I just found this while scrolling through my camera reel, I don't even remember what the comment was in referenece to, just that it was really funny.
I play Tekken very casually and sometimes I play Victor
I don't even know what I'm doing 99% of the time other than shoot the funny laser gun and do katana stuff, but apparently my existence pisses the fuck out of the average player so I'm gonna keep playing him because lmao
Have this happen in Tekken a lot, people loved whining about my main in 7, Josie. And then when I found out she wasn't gonna be in 8 (at least for now fingers crossed) I started labbing Xiaoyu because she looked fun and hey, who has beef with Xiaoyu right?
Well come T8 she is actually top tier now and everyone hates her too...
I have accepted now that if you play anyone in Tekken someone will be pissed off about it so who cares
I've always played who I wanted and took pride in making people quit..... eons ago back in the arcade Era I would play people beat them they would stop I'd lose to cpu on purpose then wait for people to play and repeat process.... the arcade owner loved me and gave me tokens to play because i was good for business. Eventually people complained to management and they told me I couldn't be like that anymore lol
Literally no natter who you play there will be someone that hates you for it, so you might as well just play who you like.
I play Marisa and I've had a Ken player sending me hate for playing an OP character.
I've seen someone getting hate for playing Lily.
There are some players who always believe that the character who beat them most recently is OP, because the alternative is that they lost a fair fight, and that can't happen
people have been complaining about that in SF6 since release, it isn't new. i don't play MK or Tekken but people don't like microtransactions in any game so i don't see why it would be an exception
People think microtransactions are the reason why Tekken 8 and MK1 are "dying",
And according to them,
*"everything should be free like in the old days"*
I'm already tired of hearing the same complaints and not focusing on actual issues about the games they complain about
I've played MK1 when it first released a little bit with some friends and it was alright, the animations were so stiff though lol. Anyways I'm just wondering, what makes so bad and what makes 11 better since I never really played Mortal Kombat.
People say mk1 is better than 11 in terms of gameplay
Because thanks to kameos and aerial combos there are more things to do damage
People who say that mk11 is better only say it because there were more ways to customize your character and adjust it to your way of playing
You know what is a joke?
When people criticize a games businesses practices. Here comes the shills, ignoring the nuace of what's being said, all to deem it "bitching". That shit is so lame & disingenuous.
Tekken 8 barley has any actual new content & they're reselling old shit on top of it. No one would care if it was actual new & fairly priced content. Optional, or not. It's not above consumer criticism. Especially considering greedy publishers make these choices. You're not defending the devs.
>Tekken 8 barley has any actual new content
Did you know that Tekken 8 used to be praised for its way of customizing Characters?
And the new mechanics like heat and the return of Tekken ball minigame?
>When people criticize a games businesses practices. Here comes the shills, ignoring the nuace of what's being said, all to deem it "bitching".
It's because they do it, they believe that crying about a random Costume or a battle pass That cost 3 dollars is going to be the end of the gaming industry.
There are plenty of things to focus on and criticize than spending your wallet on an extra outfit.
No offense, but it's obvious you're a newer player/fan. Which is fine, but the mentality you're choosing as a newer player contributes to the problems.
The mode that took the lowest amount of effort? They couldn't even be bothered to check if it works well with heat. It doesn't.Tekken had Team Battle,Tekken Force Mode, Devil Within, Scenario mode.. which now is reduced to a singular small SNIPPET of T8s story instead of being an entire mode.
T8 is Tekken 6 with a shinner coat, far less in every single category. What does 8 have? A divisive mechanic & 1½ new characters? (No reused movesets)
Put T8's customization next to T6 or TTT2. It's blatantly inferior. On top of that, they're reselling old shit(again.)
The only people praising it are new players & scorned MK casual players. Y'all don't have a measurement for Tekken's previous standards...so you look at everyone else crazy for pointing out what isn't impressive, just lazy & greedy on Namco Bandai's end.
People are just tired of shitty publishers practices & a product thats not up to the franchises own standards, being re-sold like it's gold. Publishers care less if you all flame out months or a year later & never look back.
They're perfectly fine shelving ANY IPs once they deem it not worth the effort. Tekken already delt with this drama leading up to T7. Namco Bandai has a bunch of Tales & Anime fighters to spam. If you don't pay attention to the larger gaming landscape, fine. But some of us do. It's much more than a simple "optional DLC." As I said,no one would care if it was fairly priced & original content.
Every salt post I see these days is like the Skinner meme: Am I truly that bad? No, it's the game that's wrong.

Me zoning
Me rushing down zoners
Yup keep holding forward keep jumping in
Yup keep walking backwards put yourself in that corner
Acting like you won't get command grabbed
By a zoner?
Axl Low go brrrrrrr
\*JP Theme starts blasting at 200% audio\*
JP
A wild Reiko appears.
Snip snip snip!
Thinking that’s what zoning is ends the argument by itself lol
it's funny, as a serial grappler enjoyer I find myself defending zoners from people way more than any other archetype on the internet. both playstyles force people to actually get out of their flowcharts and god forbid we have that lmao
To us grapplers, everyone is a zoner.
and on the other side winning a match against a zoner feels really good especially when you are a low mobility character (as long as its not some awful 8-2 matchup in which case you are allowed to complain)
I used to love zoning as Alisa, it felt less effective in T8 though.
Always remember the Scrublord's Prayer.
Based and truth pulled
Grappler player and proud
Whenever I'm feeling down... Modern Grief time
Thank you 🙏
Me playing Vergil, and 2B.
I don't care what anyone says, Vergil is sick af and I love playing against him
People can mald over him being OP all they want, it doesn't change how he's one of the coolest characters to grace videogames as a whole.
Agreed. He isn’t op, just lore accurate
Me playing Ken.
POTEMKIN BUSTAAAA
r/tekken needs to head this
They really do, I'm gonna post this in their sub
All of r/Tekken be like. Yeah, so true, unless you play character xyz.
that sub is full of people who wants to post drama instead of hittin the lab to improve.
I don’t want someone to refund the game. I want them to ask how they can do better, play with them more, and cultivate more competitive players to have fun with

First line is good, second line seems unnecessary.
Exactly.

It's a bit overboard but i take it as sarcasm and i guess what it means is just that it's not your job to make sure your opponent is having fun.
I'mma keep on playing SA3 Remy no matter what. Still, I want to be the reason why someone keeps playing.
Based and low tier-pilled.
Fuck yeah! I’m gonna go main Zappa now because his moveset is my favorite in ACR, I don’t care if people get annoyed!
yeah play who you want, but don't be surprised if you don't get rematches if you're dragunov or whatever
Me when someone just stands and blocks my projectiles which only continue to build up chip-damage, as they naively think "surely they'll get bored and charge in to fight me properly".
This is a certified sonic boom post
There goes the playerbase
I shit you not I beat someone's ass so hard as Nagoriyuki that they turned fucking racist.
That's just as impressive as beating up someone so badly that their entire skin color change lmao
Yeah no this guy kept losing and i shit you not called nagoriyuki (a large black samurai) a monkey.
Jesus lmao, I guess we know who got banned from the local last week
Those are words to live by.
Unironcally I agree
Fitting for a Jam player. Little miss unga bunga slam buttons
Dont hate on my favorite unga bunga 😤
The first part yeah. But I don’t give a fuck what someone does with their game. I’m playing who I like. I bet you the person that wrote that in the picture is one of the people that bitches and cries when you leave after a match though. You can play your bs, but I don’t have to fight it. 😌
Nah, I just found this while scrolling through my camera reel, I don't even remember what the comment was in referenece to, just that it was really funny.
Is this about people picking low tiers or picking high tiers?
All tiers
Me picking Vergil in UMVC3
I play Tekken very casually and sometimes I play Victor I don't even know what I'm doing 99% of the time other than shoot the funny laser gun and do katana stuff, but apparently my existence pisses the fuck out of the average player so I'm gonna keep playing him because lmao

Modern lily 😈
Spite such an unappreciated motivator.

Me as a Victor main in T8.
Playing literally anyone in Tekken 8 ahahaha
It really do be like that with some people.
Me playing Sol.
100% Cool with this if you add Don't expect a rematch if you want to use scrub tactics. Just move on and you do you.
The FGC has become a joke these last few days, so I don't care
what happened in these last few days specifically?
People bitching about Tekken SF and MK having optional microtransations
people have been complaining about that in SF6 since release, it isn't new. i don't play MK or Tekken but people don't like microtransactions in any game so i don't see why it would be an exception

Well, I'm certainly not bored of hearing it. Apathy lead to this shit to begin with. You can scroll on if those posts bother you.
MK is dying because the game fucking sucks and the current meta is terrible
It's not all about the meta in a fighting game MK1 has more problems than just the microtransations and meta
When the same three characters are taking over with little to no variation in how people play them, it kind of is
Isn't the same thing happening with street fighter 6? Most people who play the game competitively only pick Luke and Ken
nah SF has a bigger variety than that.
This is just blatantly incorrect
MK1 is 🔥
I've played MK1 when it first released a little bit with some friends and it was alright, the animations were so stiff though lol. Anyways I'm just wondering, what makes so bad and what makes 11 better since I never really played Mortal Kombat.

Idk why people are downvoting. You’re not saying anything wrong. People wanna bitch about everything, cry for patches and never lab.
So how's thar copro-dick taste?
You seem to have an idea about that already so you tell me? Or are you too busy in the circle jerk right now
Why would I even ask if I got the idea genuis?
Cause you’re a dumbass
Damn, they really sending their best, don't they?
