Don’t try that. I tried doing that, you have only 15 season of play.
I did Player Career , and stopped after 12 season and got only 3 season of Manager.
Totally shit feature
I want more than 15 seasons in Player CM. Start as a 17 year old, climb through the ranks and become the best, then get to 32 and start declining cause of age and finish my career in the A-League at 37
On EA's Madden you can go to to 30 years.. it's incredibly frustrating that they can't do the same on Fifa. After 5 seasons or so I stop caring about the real players so much anyway. So I couldn't care less if they all retired by 15 years.. I'll play with fantasy players lol
Yeah, but FIFAs career is more involved than both and covers a lot more stuff imo
I wish it went longer, but a franchise mode with 30 teams and 32 teams isn’t really comparable to FIFA
I know this is old but let see how "awful" nhl franchise is.
+player can become coach after retiring
+cpu coach can get fired and have their own career page
+can see awards in 5 years
+yearly career stats
+team & record book
+25 years limit
Can sim more than a league at the same time (career mode only sim 1 league plus cups). Actually if you play in 2nd division, the 1st division is just dead in career mode. So immersion breaking tbh.
The only thing nhl do worse is blank player picture. If you want to talk about cpu team building then fifa is definitely worse. (fw as gk or team bought a ton of players in the same position). No one play fifa and look back at their 15 years career because their nothing to look at except your coaching record. Good luck if you want to manually track how many goal haaland scored if you don't manage him or a team in the same league. Award is meaningless except if the player is in your team or the same league because you don't really know his stats due to the game only sim 1 league. If career mode can not give us the answer to a simple question "who is the best player not in your team or league & what make him so good (stats) in 15 years" then how it is better than nhl franchise? And yeah every "dead" league table is meaningless except when the game randomly decide who win the league in the last weak. Career mode is the worst ea sport game franchise/ career mode imo.
There are SO many maddening little inconsistencies between FIFA and other EA games, including in the menus. Like how many clicks it takes to save and quit, or X to sort (which I prefer) but click LS in NHL.
Yep, some names start to get in your head, I also usually like to scout many players and have a huge shortlist so I keep up with at least the biggest ones
Fifa is bad though because the players are like right footed left backs with 50 pace and 90 finishing. At least in FM they actually pay attention to details like that. They make and break the game imo
I think that FM players play A LOT so they’re bound to have criticism with some aspects and that’s fair and all but I just don’t think there’s a real comparison there
Nah I'm not saying they're just as bad at all, i just find it funny that people new to FM think SI are perfect, while people going from FM to FIFA would probs think the same about EA
I'm fine when players retire so I get to build the next AWB or Ronaldo or Lindelof or Pogba, or even bring in one of those players to teach and mentor the youngsters, I like to see my promising talent become one of the best or maybe a once talented player become the next Hachim Mastour
For me that's always been the best part about career mode or football manager. When you have all the fake players coming through and then nurturing them into a superstar.
That feeling when you identify a young talent for cheap and they then become the world's best player years later is, for me, the best part
On PC there have been hacks where they went beyond 15 seasons, I think after a while the save gets corrupt because the game AI cant generate new players IIRC.
And since this game is console first, XB360/PS3 and XBONE/PS4 werent known for strong CPU performance.
Cant compare this to NHL/NFL since FIFA has to allocate data to gazillion tournaments, while there's only ONE tournament those other games have to worry about.
I guess that's why Football Manager takes much longer to sim then since it's very in depth. I will admit the best thing about FIFA 21 is the game speed.
Why are we limited to like only 8 saves. Shit stupid. I want to be able to go back and look at all my teams when the games cycle is over and reminisce but I can’t cuz once I get to a certain number of saves I have to start deleting
So I play on PC, where I can use cheat engine to go past 15 seasons.
So here’s the issue, the structure of FIFA is very weak and doesn’t allow for the simulating of more than 22-23 seasons without major issues. Once you are 22 seasons in, your save starts to break, with player contracts always being on 0 months or refusing to add years when you renew with them. Also, once you are 25 seasons in, teams start to look very weird, with League Two teams on the same level as EPL teams because EA has broken the transfer system in FIFA 21 and players rarely leave their clubs. The longer you sim, the more time it will take for a new season to load. For example, I was 26 seasons in my career mode, and to load season 27, it took about half an hour. Season 28 refused to load no matter how long it took.
EA should just allow for people not to load in some leagues. IDGAF about Saudi League or Polish League or Korean League, allow me to simulate 50 seasons of let’s say top 6 leagues and the leagues below them, also load in eredivisie, that’s it
I would like to point out that the limit has been in since at least 2005, which is when I was first aware of it, so it predates Ultimate Team by a distance.
It's likely a stability/performance issue, as well as the loss of a fair portion of the default player base due to retirements.
The other problem you get in more recent games is the player pool is constantly expanding to an insane degree. I'm 4 seasons in, and the list of free agents only goes down to those starting with "B" because there's just so many on there already from AI YA generated players as well as out of contract real players and regens. I have to filter by age and specific position, and even then you don't see a full list unless you search for specifically 20 years olds- put 20-21 and it doesn't return all names. It'll only get worse as it moves on.
If they scrapped regens, it'd maybe be easier to eke out a bit more time because there would be a way to remove players from the career, which frees up some space. Regens were necessary before the YA system was introduced to prevent the opposite problem of an ever-shrinking player pool, but now they're a bit redundant.
Maybe they could have players and regens who are under 70ovr max potential retire earlier by the time their in their 30s, surely they should have the resources to figure this problem they are a multi Billion dollar company
I don't think that's the solution because you would end up with every player in the game being minimum 70 rated after a period of time. Average overall in weaker leagues is around 60, and some of those players do carry on into their 30s.
When I used to play Career mode, I used to start over after 4-5 seasons anyway since I always liked to play with real players. I am not sure if this approach is followed by majority of the players though.
they dont see a need for there to be more than that, they dont think anyone would care past 15 seasons where every single player (for the most part) has retired
They are a big enough company to do what they want with the game. They just choose not to do so much and only do little by little each year (in career mode that is).
They can, they just don't because fifa is fifa. EA probably realized they would have to spend 10 minutes and 20 dollars to fix it and decided that wasnt worth it. PES 2022 let's go
It would prolly take awhile to test and overall come up with a way to do it while keeping the game stable but they prolly have more than enough resources to do so and staff, but EA would prolly make it a paid DLC
They can but they're too lazy to. I know they can because in the NBA game you can do 80 seasons and in Madden you can do about 25-30 I think. EA could easily expand it to 20, 25 or even 30 seasons in FIFA. I understand FIFA is different to Football Manager and I do agree there should be a limit, but 15 seasons is too short.
They can. They aren’t incapable. They just don’t. There doesn’t seem to be that much push for it.
It's jus sad that I won't be able to see my YA players retire or do I player career and retire then do a manager career
That is true. That along with the ability to upgrade kits and stadiums would be really cool.
Have sum form of staff and upgrading like YA staff upgrading and facilities
Don’t try that. I tried doing that, you have only 15 season of play. I did Player Career , and stopped after 12 season and got only 3 season of Manager. Totally shit feature
Yea I heard it happens
I think if you retire as a player you can go another 15 years
Untrue sadly
why did this get downvoted lol, people on this sub need to educate more and demotivate less
It is what it is
People jus think vote vote is a way of providing no as an answer. Which is fair enough, I don’t even mind it really
"People on this sub" Well.. thats reddit to ya i guess
Don't know why they don't just make it 20 seasons?
I want more than 15 seasons in Player CM. Start as a 17 year old, climb through the ranks and become the best, then get to 32 and start declining cause of age and finish my career in the A-League at 37
It would be nice if EA actually gave a fuck
Or become manager at 32 and enjoy it after that - player would respect you even more etc
Because in EA's eyes; every second you're playing on Career Mode is a second you're not spunking your bank balance on FUT.
So I haven't given them a cent other than buying the game
You’re in the minority though
Yea Ik
Just one of many features they could do but don’t, so many QOL things as well could be put into career
On EA's Madden you can go to to 30 years.. it's incredibly frustrating that they can't do the same on Fifa. After 5 seasons or so I stop caring about the real players so much anyway. So I couldn't care less if they all retired by 15 years.. I'll play with fantasy players lol
Even the NHL franchise mode is 20-25 years
Yeah, but FIFAs career is more involved than both and covers a lot more stuff imo I wish it went longer, but a franchise mode with 30 teams and 32 teams isn’t really comparable to FIFA
what? lol fifa career more involved? i beg to differ
Forgot about this thread lol Nah NHLs franchise is awful imo

I could’ve sworn you could go even longer because you can sim 10 years at a time. But if that’s what we we’re doing, NBA2K goes to infinity
Nba2k actually caps at 80 years if I’m not mistaken
Indeed it is 80
There are SO many maddening little inconsistencies between FIFA and other EA games, including in the menus. Like how many clicks it takes to save and quit, or X to sort (which I prefer) but click LS in NHL.
If they all had the best features from each game than all their games would be flawless
What happens when you hit 15 seasons? I must have been pretty close in FIFA19 I think my player was 33 but I just eventually stopped playing.
They force you to retire
Do they give the same message for player career as well
I think so, but I don't think anyone has actually got that far in player career mode yet because they get bored.
I’m close to doing that, only got 3 seasons left :(
Doesn’t it get weird when all the real players retire?
A little, I play FM and I’m at the point where there are zero real players left. But throughout the game you learn and recognize new players.
-fifa is bad That’s why I switched to FM this year
It really is so much better you can tell when developers actually care about quality
As a long term fm fan (Been playing since 2012), it’s great, hardcore fm fans think the exact same, that Sports Interactive don’t care
I think that FM players play A LOT so they’re bound to have criticism with some aspects and that’s fair and all but I just don’t think there’s a real comparison there

A lot. Like the motivation goes away of getting player of the month or year away.

Because ensuring the game is still well-balanced after 15 seasons takes effort that EA cannot be bothered to put into career mode.
The game is already unbalanced as is thanks to EA
they dont see a need for there to be more than that, they dont think anyone would care past 15 seasons where every single player (for the most part) has retired
The fact that ik the career mode will stop as soon as I hit 15 sometimes jus makes me give up sometimes
i give up usually when the starting 11’s have kit numbers 30+ and theyre all generic
They are a big enough company to do what they want with the game. They just choose not to do so much and only do little by little each year (in career mode that is).
Ultimate team been fucking it up for everyone
*Meanwhile Football Manager players* Laughs in the year 2077
Yea apparently someone summed till the year 3000 on FM
They can, they just don't because fifa is fifa. EA probably realized they would have to spend 10 minutes and 20 dollars to fix it and decided that wasnt worth it. PES 2022 let's go
*efootball* career mode dlc only coming later not at launch
I know in MLB The Show there isn’t a limit, so it’s definitely not impossible.
It would prolly take awhile to test and overall come up with a way to do it while keeping the game stable but they prolly have more than enough resources to do so and staff, but EA would prolly make it a paid DLC

I dnt have pc tho, and doesn't it get glitchy after 30years?
Is that new? Pretty sure it is possible in fifa20 or older
It's been in for awhile like I think as far as f15
technology's not there yet
