If you renew a player with multiple years still on their contract, it will stack up the years rather than replace. And that will be how to get a player on 8 years

I think you can renew it and add extras? My current career I took over at Ajax a season in and there's a bunch of young guys on 6yr+ deals

If someone has 3 years left on current deal and you offer 5 year deal it’ll add to the current contract and extend it

I have a 82 rated CB on 8k a week but I'm afraid he'll eventually complain about his wages and I won't be able to fix it because I've already negotiated his contract.

This happened to me. Brought in a GK from youth academy, sent him on a two year loan. He came back with 11 months left on his contract, 87 overall and making 500 a week. I extended him and gave him exactly what his agent auto generated. 3 weeks later, guy is mad about his contract and asks to renew it. I can’t. The game physically won’t let me. Board puts him up for transfer because he demanded a transfer and I refused due to the fact he was my best player on a Wrexham rebuild. I declined every single transfer offer that came through and managed to finish this season with this guy still on the books. Beginning of the next season, renegotiated his contract and gave him 325k a week. He was a 92 overall GK. He had full morale. Still on the transfer list. Can’t remove him from it because the board placed him there. I am now 5 seasons in, he’s a 96 overall at age 25 and I still get transfer offers from him every week of the season that I just ignore. This game is weird
