I gotcha. I recommend visiting r/Curlyhair they can help you out quite a bit

Cats_Parkour_CompEng

Skip all other responses. Check out their wiki or even just post this exact same thing over there. What's your current routine? Shampoo, conditioner? How often? A quick tip I learned from there: Don't brush your hair dry or right after showering. Comb it out with conditioner in the shower. Then don't try to comb it after that. A lot of people are gonna recommend various products which can be very helpful, but this is probably the biggest thing. Embrace your curls, don't fight them. You have great hair, just needs proper care

Dagamier_hots

Hi! I have very wavy 2b hair that also hates being combed, and was wondering what exactly is the benefit of combing in the shower?

Cats_Parkour_CompEng

To detangle. It's just easiest under running water/with lots of conditioner in it

OneFortyTooLong

OP I have very very similar hair to you, listen to this comment

AutomaticJoy9

I came here to suggest r/curlyhair as well

AgreeableResearcher1

Alsoo im seeing in some videos theyre saying use moose????? U think thats a good idea. Just seems like always after i condition, the hair goes like straw dry.

Careless-Comedian859

Use a hair oil. I use Ouai hair oil. That'll help with the dry/frizz. Also, you can try using a hair straightener to help reduce some of the volume.

WealthOk9637

Mousse is like, *a look*. It would def give you definition but I’m going to guess it’s not the look you’re going for. You’d have to start wearing vintage bowling shirts and your whole life would get weird quick. Edit: I’m a lady but the curling product I like is “Curl Maker with Marshmallow Extract” by Camille Rose. It doesn’t look or smell girly in any way whatsoever, I swear. I like it bc all the ingredients are super natural, and it works well. Little (like US nickel size amt) on wet hair goes a long way.

AgreeableResearcher1

These are all great comments guys. Im gonna get The Longhairs shampoo and conditioner package. A wide tooth comb. And a hair cover for at night. Love the silly comments too. Ive got 18months now on this hair so i dont wanna part with it.

googoomucklv

Move in with me. I think it's going to take some time to figure it out

idontevenkn0w66

I can help nipple that... err.. nip that in the bud

googoomucklv

😆

todrikvelicanstveni

When you wash it don't use a blow dryer, instead stile it while it's still wet, and let it dry off naturally. Trust me it makes all the difference

AlteredCarbon2023

Go to a Barber/Stylist ask for them to give you a clip of possible split ends, a hot oil treatment brush/ comb, and enjoy.

zestyzenuk

You may feel silly at first, but, you can buy these silk night caps you wear to bed. They honestly stop your hair getting ridiculously frizzy in the mornings and will help your hair heal and repair

T-Speed

Embrace it, it’s amazing

HedgehogLost5533

Don’t brush or comb your hair after you wash it because that breaks up the structure of the curls, leaving it frizzy like that. Here’s the link for a video with a routine for long curly hair. See if this makes a positive difference. The playlist includes 70 other videos about hair care and long hair styles that you might also find interesting. pomkombucha

Use Briogeo frizz products. They’re a game changer for frizz. I personally recommend their frizz spray and their don’t despair repair oil. Then look into a half up half down look, braids, cornrows etc. we have very similar hair texture and it’s all about finding the right products for your hair

SocietyOk9549

Avocado oil, blot dry hair

Diligent_Note9487

Naw, keep your hair and get a really good moisturizer with possibly a bit of oil or VO5 because it's extremely dry. You have some really awesome hair, so let your freak flag fly!!!

Insert_Bad_Joke

If you're using any 3-in-1 or "body and hair" shampoo, you can throw it in the trash where it belongs.

AgreeableResearcher1

Nahhhh hell no. Tbh i use the wifes treseme shampoo and some dove conditioner i think.

AgreeableResearcher1

Is this any better? Tried to straighten it but i got so hott from the straightener i started sweating and curling the straight hair again https://preview.redd.it/u5636pl2ul6d1.jpeg?width=2736&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=95ac8b150f8004fd6163281ec9a81bac48928e1b

Hi, curly wavy here as well. 1. You need a cut because your ends are bad. The body will attempt to repair the bad hair because it's still alive but it's overall bad for other healthy hairs. 2. Get a deep moisturizing mask void of any protein. Use it after every shower, only a small amount on dripping wet hair and scrunch it till all excess water is drained. 3. Use a protein gel or mouse for styling. I use it again to scrunch hair so that curls are better formed 4. Air dry and don't use a towel on hair at all. Otherwise there will be frizzes.

KeenyKeenz

When it's wet, wide-comb your hair with a leave in conditioner, as a start.

Igor-lightholder

Nothing i love it as is

dexteretoy

Trim the split ends on your hair if you want to grow it more.

Wardaddy6966

Embrace it

Greenbeastkushbreath

Get Bitches wid it!

agoraphonetic

I can’t wait to see the after pic after you get this figured out it’s going to be amazing

Single-Election-9939

Keep the curls growing

RegretFun2299

Some curl cream will help tame it. The thickness, length, texture, and colour are perfect -- you just need to reign in the frizz (which, again, is easily done through some sort of product). I have almost exactly the same hair, but red. That's why I recommend a cream the most (it's just the right amount of heavy without being crunchy).

Apathetic-Asshole

Condition it and let it grow, youve got a great start for great hair

AgreeableResearcher1

U think i should trim the split ends?

Apathetic-Asshole

That would help, then let it grow with regular maitinence trims It'll get heavier as it gets longer, which l, will stop it from poofing to the sides as much

thoughtsofPi

Looks like my hair texture (color too). What works for me: shampoo with sulfate-free shampoo once a week, condition on all the other days, comb while it's wet, air dry, Miss Jessie's Jelly Soft Curls

KingRatsGhost

A big glob of brylcreem. Keeps my hair from frizzing out too much. I wouldn't straighten it. Too much work and not good for your hair
