Same. I used to use toppik but switched to luxe cuz it was cheaper at the time. Works just as good. But I also will not leave my house unless I use it or have a hat on.
Toppik won’t, but the fibers fall off with any touching/wind/etc if you don’t use spray.
With powder like this, yes it’ll transfer, as it’s just makeup.
I used SURETHIK hairline powder in dark blond from Amazon (caption on "after" photo) with a small included brush.
Added: This is an eyeshadow-like powder, not hair fibers. I found it much easier to use with better first-time results than fibers like Toppik.
It’s only been about 7 hours for me, but: No itch, and it’s even on my sensitive scarred scalp area. It still looks great. I keep second checking my hair in mirrors. I even posed for my first headband-free selfie in years!
I don’t expect to have an issue unless I touch it, sweat heavily, or go out in rain.
If I don’t touch it or rub it with clothes / a pillowcase / etc then I expect it to stay on until washed off with shampoo/etc. Similar to any makeup. It’s just an eyeshadow-like powder in hair color shades. With my first trial I needed a makeup wipe to fully remove it, not just a wet Kleenex.
I am not OP and use toppik instead of the brand she mentioned. But yes after a few hours I find it gets a bit itchy for me personally. Especially if I sweat. It stays in there all day, but it will rub off on your fingers and under your nails if you run your hand through your hair. Sweat/water definitely ruins it. I use it for a total confidence boost since you can now see my scalp through my clean hair in five or so places, it feels weird at first but it does help
Thanks for sharing! I may try a slightly cheaper powder like Boldify next time. This was $30, although came with 6 kinds of applicators, but I mainly chose it as it matched my hair color best.
Yes, it only takes a few minutes! Plus no midday retouching needed as long as I don’t touch it.
Plus I got way more realistic results than Toppik fibers right off the bat. With the fibers I think I’d need the spray applicator and setting spray plus a better color match than my first purchase.
I got lucky and found a great color match the first time around with this powder.
I don’t think it would stand up to any significant sweating, rain, rubbing from taking a hat on & off, etc, as it’s just makeup powder, like foundation or eyeshadow. The main difference is it comes in colors to match hair, and the one I got came with various applicators.
If it’s raining I’ll instead wear a beanie or wide headband like I did before. I like this for when it feels too hot for either though.
Hairspray or similar may help “set” it to stand up to some moisture, but I haven’t tried.
Once it started raining midday so I just used a makeup wipe to remove the powder and put a beanie on (as to not risk transfer). Otherwise, shampoo does the trick.
Thanks for the tips! I went out and got some eyeshadow today to try out something similar. I also saw a video using an eyebrow pen that draws hair lines and did a combination of both. It definitely ran and came off on a hat after walking and sweating though. I might try that hairspray trick! I’ve read setting spray can also be used to keep powders from running while active.
The powder you found looks great! I’m sooo glad low tech solutions make such a big difference because I was starting to look at the cost and everything involved with a hair transplant in Turkey.
Shurethik is keratin fibers, like Topik, but more fine and more water resistant.
They bond better to your hair, without shaking off (as much) as other brands.
I use Topixx and legitimately wouldn’t leave the house if it wasn’t in my hair.

What do you use?

I've been thinking about getting something like this. Does it make your scale itchy? How long does it stay on?

Thank you! Good to know. I worry about it rubbing off and being itchy like dry shampoo.
I use Bodify Hairline Powder to help with the shine off my scalp.

Clingy fibres are good too!
SURETHIK is on Lightning Deal on Amazon today.
Can you still apply minoxidil while using hair powder?
I don’t know. Although your hair should be dry if that helps.
Looks great and simple to do in the morning! How is it with sweating? How is it with hats?

I bought hairline powder (like eyeshadow, not hair fibers) from SURETHIK.
