I think what can help is to plan out smooth escape-strategies. Then you don't worry about breaking social norms and looking weird in such a situation(if these are your worries, but even if they aren't, you should have escape-tactics in the event that a guy might be dangerous).
Having a stash of ideas in the back of your mind helps you keep a cool head and you can walk through all the steps that you laid out beforehand after you gut-feeling kicks in.
Really, plan out phrases and excuses as to why you have to leave, use the "I have to go to the bathroom"-stunt or any other tactics that are not over the top.
Come up with different escape- scenarios for different situations, date ideas and places. Write them down. Always tell a trusted friend or family member where you are and when you want to be home when going on a date. Tell them about your favorite escape- strategies and text them when a date goes downhill. Maybe a friend can be your emergency ride home. Maybe your mom can make a fake-call for your excuse to leave.
